Purely conjecture, but I'm willing to bet these two players just didn't get enough exposure, through tournament wins or otherwise. And now we have the rest of the NA EG with a fire under their butts, trying to attract as many eyes as possible.
This was actually because of what I remember being a chat between EGMachine and Liquid'Sheth. Sheth brought up the "good ol' days" when they used to have big team practices while playing BW. Then Machine said he was going to talk to the rest of the team about starting it up again. 2 days later they began streaming practice sessions. This is what baffles me. How much training is actually done within the team? It's not like it started to practice within the team just because of that convo(I hope)?

I guess it makes sense. I see Geoff "the personality" Robinson dodged the cut. Hopefully this season he can perform well in tournaments and become more of a pro-player rather than just an entertaining community member. I didnt know EG had to give you a reason for releasing two players? Hell I didnt even know EG had to give the community notice that they DID release two players..... oh wait... I did it again. -_-
Don't be an idiot please. Is this your first rodeo around any type of professional sports? Teams always give a reason for cutting/releasing a player. It's par for the course and it's good PR. Last thing you want is to be a faceless organization that just cuts players without reason.

They said time and time again, that they have to practise at least 8 hours a day (before a tournament they practise more). I also heard that they are not allowed to goof around like a 4v4 or something like that during the practise hours. EG knows what they are doing, don't worry guys.
Why does nobody question Ret or TLO or Kas or the whole mouz-team?

8 hours a day really isn't all that much when you compare it to the top Koreans that do 11-15 hours a day.

Why are you including Kas and mouz in that list? Kas is a fucking monster with 60%+ winrates in all matchups, MaNa has been on top of the TLPD leaderboard for weeks, Thorzain is one of the most consistent non-Korean terrans...

The 8 hours set by EG probably has something to do with labor laws in the united states, though this last sentence is complete speculation.

To the people who were talking about Incontrol's tournament results, I would say that IMO he is actually at least as valuable to EG as Idra or Huk are.
Good luck to Axlav and and Strifecro in their future challenges, whatever they might be.

Do you really think EG would keep Incontrol over either of those two? So no, he's not as valuable to EG compared to those two.

I agree that they wouldn't keep Geoff over IdrA or HuK, but I doubt Greg or Chris would want to be on a team with only the two of them, and I think that EG would cut literally everyone else on the roster before Geoff.

Oh I thought for a moment you were asking me a question. So never mind then.
If I were asked that question I would say EG would have to think really long and hard in that situation and it would be quite difficult to say what they would choose. Luckily we are not there and all the named people can continue being awesome in the team they are in.

im guessing axslav to RGN and strifecro to vile

EG wouldn't cut Puma, JYP before Incontrol. That's ludicrous to suggest. He does stuff for the community, but it's not as compelling as strong tournament results. EG aren't the ambassadors of SC2, they are a top-level team that was made with the intention to compete.

On a side note I always think it's funny when people use players first name in a effort to appear like they know more or soemthing, amusing.
I do it because I can never remember how to capitalize iNcontroL (?), and throw in Greg and Chris and shit just to change it up instead of typing HuK or whatever ten times in one post. I'm weird, I know, but it's not because I think I know more than you.

Geoff's the team captain, though, and what EG ultimately cares about is getting an ROI on their sponsorships, which you can argue Geoff does by putting himself out there so much. He's on SotG, he's on ITG, he casts, his stream is massively popular. PuMa and JYP do well in tournaments, but you don't really hear or think about them until a tournament rolls around, and then only if they do well (which a lot of times they don't).
I'm not SirScoots and this is all hypothetical, but having a likable and well-known face for your team is really important, it's why people talk more about EG and Liquid than any other team around here.

Not that big of a surprise, neither has poster any good results over the past year and from the looks of their play don't look like they will break out anytime soon. It is sad to see them go but EG needs to make room for better players. I hope they succeed in the future though, maybe a new team would be a better fit for them anyway.

i really think axslav went to RGN.
he moved out of the EG lair really fast and geoff said they are not gonna kick them out which is why strife is still there.

It's best not to call someone an idiot and then follow it up with a statement that is completely false. It's rare for teams to even comment on cutting players for major sports outside of special circumstances(at least in the US).
So I dunno if it's his "first rodeo", but it must be yours.

Look up the recent Roll Call episode with Scoots, Sundance and others. To sponsors, strong tournament results actually aren't as compelling as community involvement. Of course, they aren't nothing, but SteelSeries cares less about a player winning tournaments than they do about him representing their brand responsibly.
Edit: The episode can be found here.
