Purely conjecture, but I'm willing to bet these two players just didn't get enough exposure, through tournament wins or otherwise. And now we have the rest of the NA EG with a fire under their butts, trying to attract as many eyes as possible.

I guess it makes sense. I see Geoff "the personality" Robinson dodged the cut. Hopefully this season he can perform well in tournaments and become more of a pro-player rather than just an entertaining community member.

Also to anyone who is wondering why they're still in the house well....they're still friends, it's not like they're going to kick them out of the house to live in the streets or something......

You'd figure that if Axslav taught them anything, it should be that having an amazing stream with a lot of viewers doesn't make a difference in the end.

It is possible that their sponsors spoke up about how much revenue the team is generating for them. They wanted to keep the biggest names, release the lesser knowns and increase stream viewership. I could see something like this occurring from a business standpoint.

They have all but come out and said that they didn't cut Axslav at all. They aknowledged that he was getting better. While he wasn't putting himself out there as much as Incontrol he had a group of followers. What it came down to is that he asked for something more than EG was willing to give him, either a bigger salary or more appearences in lan tourneys. If youre EG it's kinda hard to justify flying Axslav to a tourney instead of Idra, Huk, Puma, JYP or even Demuslim. As far as I understand Axslav found another team where he is higher placed in the internal ranking which will probably give him more chances to play in tournaments as well as a higher salary.

EG obviously is sticking with A-teamers only (HuK, Idra, Puma, JYP), and even if you believe Incontrol is good/talented, his teammates are on a how different level. For now, his ''community face'' is the only thing that will allow him to stay with EG.

Saying that the only reason he stays is because of his "community face" is downplaying him a bit. I personally think after watching the streaming session EG have done lately that Inc is an awesome coach to have, even if he cant execute just as well lately. And we should not forget that he just beat thorzain in a bo3 in HomeStoryCup just the other week.

To be honest, I'm truly hoping they will continue to try and get more foreign players. For one, I believe there is a great reputation to build there in growing foreign eSports. This can both be used to benefit EG and foreign scene in general, which is basically investing into their own future x2. That being said, they also have to get some return on whichever player they obtain. My point is, in direct player -> return ratio most Korean players will be a much safer bet than a great deal of foreign players, but considering other factors I hope EG can justify making a truly powerhouse foreign team.

This is especially given the fact that EG's roster has been so stable for so long, ina team house, with access to any and all tournaments: and the only players who can bring in wins are those they purchase already capable of doing so. I disliked EG for throwing so much money around while having such a deadweight roster outside the korean-based aspect of the team, but at least they have the business sense to make this needed change.

The thing is any tournament worthy of noting has players from Korean teams who have the same if not better training set up as EG competing in them. If their players were just playing against other foreign teams with players who were just practising from home then I'd agree they should be winning a lot more but they aren't and they still have Huks winning MLGs, Puma winning/nearly winning NASL and dreamhack and Idra winning the auss rog invite and placing relatively well at MLGs. I'd say their results are pretty good. They only get so much stick because of they're so visible in the foreign community with all the content their players put out.

This was actually because of what I remember being a chat between EGMachine and Liquid'Sheth. Sheth brought up the "good ol' days" when they used to have big team practices while playing BW. Then Machine said he was going to talk to the rest of the team about starting it up again. 2 days later they began streaming practice sessions.

Any of their Twitch.tv accounts should have them. This is the most recent one from Incontrol's archives with, I think, Machine, Incontrol, Demuslim, StrifeCro, LzGamer, Spades, vVvRocker and evoli.

I did it again. -_- | ||
