how are you supposed to come back in a game where the guy blocks the natural and the third? or do you have to do a sucky all in that he is going to be prepared for?
and how are you supposed to deal with random stuff that is done completely blind?
man i guess thats zerg.... but seriously im raging Ha. I If he blocks the natural you should get your overlord on 15 and 4 lings while running to the third with your drone. If he's dropping 2 pylons it puts him more behind than you.
Usually if they drop the pylon in the natural and you attempt to take the third, they'll cancel the pylon in the natural. If not, then 4 lings should easily be able to take out the pylon.
Also, pro tip: sacrificing one ling to follow the probe (instead of having 4 attacking the pylon, just three) is worth it as it deters the creation of a forward pylon (with that specific probe) and can overall discourage the protoss player from sacrificing more economy to put a forward pylon with another probe.

Intimate Tips with Stoic Gaming
These are a compilation of tips that I've collected after watching basically every single episode from the beginning of time. Maybe include this in the original thread to give a general overview for the courageous Starcraft 2 Zergs that don't have time to parse all of the videos.
Intimate Mechanics:
- Try to minimize looking at the main screen and focus on the minimap.
- Always be anal when dealing with drone counts and saturation.
- Hotkey your larva/eggs!
Intimate Macro:
- Don't be afraid to save larva once you've hit your benchmark in regards to Drones. Larva doesn't disappear!
- Try to make drones while looking at something else to make your APM as efficient as possible.
- Always strive to minimally counter everything you're up against.
Intimate ZvP:
- Always try to have an overlord spotting the gasses in the natural (after FFE)
- There are two kinds of forcefields: offensive and defensive; make sure you can distinguish these FF's and only engage when your opponent utilizes offensive forcefields.
- Deal with Stargate units with Queens and Spores
- Roach/Hydra is generally a bad composition, but can be viable if you're behind (i.e. losing your third to gay zealot pressure)
- If you can, going Roach/Ling is sometimes a better decision than just going pure roach as you can build up a gas deposit and tech easily because of the gas-less ling production.
- Strive to build the units that take the longest to make first (roaches) when defending a push, so when the push comes, you can reinforce with faster-creating units (lings).
Intimate ZvT:
- Don't be afraid to drop down a roach warren if you suspect a large hellion count or mech. It's a mineral-only investment and isn't detrimental to your tech and keeps you safe.
- Mutas are never a good option when you're behind--always go Infestors!
- Creep spread is important.
- If you had the choice between dropping a spine or a spore (to mitigate drops), always opt for the spore as it really limits where the Terran can drop.
- If you're on a low base count, infestors are always the way to go.
- Always spread your army out when engaging the Terran to make Terran splitting ineffective.
- Patrolling lings through drop paths is just as effective as a floating overlord and doesn't risk your supply cap from dropping.
Intimate ZvZ:
- You should always try to be ahead "mentally" of your opponent.
- In the mid game, a Roach/Hydra composition is more or less "equally as strong" as Roach/Infestor, but gains in advantage when the infestor player has no more energy.
- You should always block your ramp with queens if you open 15h vs. 14/14 or any build where you are vulnerable to ling run-bys (usually when they have speed before you)
- Skipping an early baneling nest allows you to have a slightly better mineral income, which means you can make extra queens and spines in the event of an attack before you have roach tech.
- Keep in mind that a third is generally a huge investment and should be only taken when you have some sort of advantage. It costs 350 minerals, lowers your income, and doesn't take in effect until you actually have drones there.
I don't know if I missed anything. I tried to keep everything general and less game-specific.
To copy, just quote this and copy-paste the code.

Thanks for that! I've updated the OP
You also now get 10% of all revenue generate by Intimate ZvX with Stoic to date. This is Zero, but a nice gesture I think!
lol.
But seriously, I really appreciate the work you put into this, I know it must have taken you some time.
Cheers,

Hahaha, well, I think most of the revenue should come from users paying to use your patented Stoic time in replays.
|
Wow this thread is blowing up, I think we can credit it all to posting that ridiculous picture of David.

I read a tip on reddit about getting an ovie per inject on reddit says sheth uses it ....
does Regret have any tips on general ovie making ?

In ZvP I go 15pool, then send a drone scout. I played a game on Shakuras where I scouted 2 gateways chronoboosting zealots in his natural before expo, what is the correct response here? And how do I proceed if he
A) Builds his nexus afterwards
B) Builds his cybercore afterwards.
Also props on your awesome videos. Intimate ZvX with Stoic has been the single biggest factor in getting me from diamond to master league.

Wait till you see all the free cotton candy we get from doing these VODs. TOTALLY WORTH IT. Hell YEAH

Episode 19 is UP.
Enjoy ZvP week.

Going to do vods soon. If anyone has suggestions, post them here! Thanks for watching everyone.
|
Thank you for great content! Really enjoying it
What is the name of the band/song at the start of video number two vs iMpBails?
|
Suggestions for VODS:
- ZvZ: Properly scouting mutalisks and what to do if you cannot grab a third.
- ZvZ: When is it appropriate to all-in your opponent? I remember David saying that if I'm not using my larva, he'll just make mass lings and kill me.
- ZvT: Countering proxy 2-rax.
- ZvP: Tips for reaching that 70 supply at 8 minutes.
- ZvX: What to prioritize in terms of "cycling through our macro" (i.e. always inject -> spend larvae -> minimap -> micro -> etc.)
cheers!

Song is Called "Gimme Sympathy" by Metric.
This is the acoustic version from their album. They're f'ing awesome. Really hot in Canada since Emily is from Ontario, and I know her!
|
Yeah, Metric rocks. Came into them after watching scott pilgrim vs the world.
|
Ahhh yea. That blonde girl covers it well.
|
Aha, I knew it was Metric, just didnt know the song :D
|
For a little bit of fun, you could do one video of the two of you doing a 2v2!
