There is no way in which leaving OGS will improve his practicing environment. Let's not assume that too quickly. If MC stays dedicated, I am certain he can find practice partners. Seriously, who is going to turn down practice with MC? Unless he left oGs on REALLY bad terms, I expect this to have zero impact on his practice partners. The only question is whether MC will be dedicated enough or not to put in the time when no one is forcing him to. Yes but what if the oGs teams comes up with new & innovative strategies, new special tactics etc., I'm not sure they would share such knowledge with non-teammates. Standard practice makes sense in my book, but sharing advanced techniques, I don't know man.

"oGsMC" was one of the best sounding names in starcraft. I'm sad to hear this is over.
Gsl announcer: "OGS....MC!!!."

Everyone who has to practice with their team mates first.
Practice is more than finding somebody to help you prepare for semifinals/finals of a tournament that he's already knocked out of. Many people will look outside their teams to find the best possible sparring partners in those situations anyway. It's about finding people you can grind strategies against on a day-to-day basis, every single day.
Team house practicing in SC2 is still far from optimal, but even that will change sooner than later. And then the difference between being in a real team house and living by yourself will become even more apparent.

Well ogsmc is kind of stuck in my head. He should change name to skogsmc.

this makes me sad

Can't imagine the deal they offered MC...

we'll see how the lack of teamhouse affects his performance soon.

I don't know what to say. Good luck, MC!

Another disadvantage is the lack of coaching, structured practice and having to perform your own housing duties. I think MC will definitely be at a disadvantage in terms of practice environment - at least at the beginning. But that doesn't mean he'll always be at a disadvantage. We'll what SK has in store for him in the future.

I hope OGS keeps getting new talent. It seems they do, but so many high caliber players keep taking the skills they develop in the team house and leaving for more money.

Who are those high caliber players that have left oGs?? Isn't MC the first? I dont really count Zenio and HerO since they "transferred" to TL.

For the most part you're right. TOP and Inca really disappeared after their finals appearance and I can't really think of another notable oGs player right now besides ForGG and Nada (mainly for popularity though.) Theres no doubt that MC was their star player so this loss sucks for them.
The good news is that they are still one of the most popular teams in Korea, they have forGG and Inca is playing well again.

oGs is a very well established team. I'm sure they will be getting some more excellent talents into their team in a near future.
In any case, they've still got Inca, the best metagamer in the Starcraft 2 history.
Player A: "This guy likes his DT's, but I doubt he's gonna try it here when he's aware that everyone knows about it" [6 minutes later] Player A: "F@#$ where's my scan"
Player B: "Nobody is stupid enough to go DT 2 games in a row." [6 minutes later] Player B: "....Goddamnit"
Player C: "Alright. I'm saving 100 energy and gonna get an early e-bay" [6 minutes later] Player C: "....." Player C: "Uh, is that his 3rd base going up?"

How do you know they are one of the most popular teams in Korea? They haven't been posting good results lately. IM and Slayers seem to have taken the spotlight away from them. With MC gone, I hope someone else can step up. They are also becoming very Terran favored with Top, Supernova, ForGG, and theStC.
