Gracken to Code S makes sense out of pretty much ANY foreigner if you're going to get one in to replace Naniwa it should be him. Guy left of his own volition and he even had an emotional video made for him by GOM. If you're going on a like-for-like replacement basis, i.e a foreigner for a foreigner, then giving it to the foreigner who didn't drop down from Code S when he was playing there makes a lot of sense.

i dont want to offend anyone here but giving away code S spots is not a what i was expecting by GOM ... for a korean is so hard to play code S , but to a foreigner they give the spot with ease?

Idra fans im sorry but Idra will be crushed , besides him being as BM as Naniwa he is Code B material now ... Besides , he left korea because he knew he had no chance , now he comes back without deserving and all of a sudden hes code S good ?
It will be worse...

The spots should have been given by playing and not for free...

this Blizzard Cup was supposed to be epic and memorable but we only talk about naniwa..

he left korea after getting round 8 code s so im sure that he doesn´t left because he knew he had no chance

Code S is a popularity contest not a competition of skills. Hole incident is a bad joke.

Giving out 2 Code S spot to players that didnt earn it in the MLG exchange program wtf is going on here.

Yeah man. I remember when SjoW and the gang got sent to Korea thanks to the MLG exchange program, everyone was full of praise and said that they were going to "tear up Code A" like it was totally fair for all the other Koreans struggeling in Code B. Now when Naniwa gets thrown out and Idra and Sen gets invited due to foreign turnament results the competition is suddenly unfair and invalid.

People should seriously consider not looking through coloured glasses all the time.

I don't personally agree with the MLG-GSL program, but at least it was an established way of getting in Code A and constituted one of two legitimate ways of qualifying in it. It's known by everyone that you could compete in Code A by either competing in the Code A qualifiers in Korea or by competing in an MLG and getting a high enough place to qualify for Code A.

This on the other hand is completely different. Do you actually know why Idra and Sen got seeded to play in Code S? There weren't any qualifiers for those spots, they were hand-picked by GOM to be directly placed into their highest league. No, getting "good foreign tournament results" isn't good enough if they didn't establish beforehand in which tournaments and how good of results you need to get to qualify for Code S. How about Hero, shouldn't he get a seed because of Dreamhack? How about Puma?

This isn't about Idra or Sen mind you, it's about getting two players to play in Code S just because GOM feels like it. That completely undermines the competitive aspect of the league.

This, completely. I honestly can't understand this move by GOM, it's utterly justified. Why not DeMuslim? He's also in Code A like Idra was through the same method. Why not Puma? Why not Hero? Yongwha? Fruitdealer, he's a fan favourite, why not him? WHY? Please, I actually wish they would put out a statement justifying this move.

it seems justified to me.. he was in gsl before.. that, to me at least, deems some sort of requisite to be given the slot.

I don't see where this sentiment comes from. He absolutely is Code S material. If he ever gets his ZvP up to par with his ZvZ and ZvT, he might become the best Zerg on the planet.

completely baseless statement, dude... he's good. he is nowhere near the best even if his zvp would be as good as his zvt. put nestea drg or leenock or coca in series vs the guys he lost to recently.

it would be totally baller if idra just came in code S,and for the hell of bming did a drone rush

if he did that i would forgive him of all sins since im a priest ...

Naniwa should not be removed even though he literally lost the game on purpose , this is wrong , he cant even read korean to know the rules.... First you give a serious fine and warning , then you ban... He will lose the code S money and GOM money on january instead of not receiving money from the blizzard cup....

This is very unfortunate, but i hope naniwa absorbs all this bad energy and uses it to train harder and play more focused..

As for Idra and his spot , you guys say he left code S so he should come back code S , that is so wrong...
When Idra played BitbyBit.prime was code S , and he left when the Up and downs and Code A code S was starting, from that point on , code S was the real deal no more open seasons ... and he left his group with 3 players , without GOM
finding a replacement in time..
Korea has the best terrans , and Idra doesnt like terrans , thats why i said he has no chance, i just think he is too nervous or angry to play in korea ( Stone Cold = mvp )

I think they should had made this other way , its like they do things without seeing the consequences..

it's funny how people fail to see that the reason sen and idra got seeds were because of financial reasons... who is more popular than those two outside of korea in both the east and west?

i think everyone sees that, but it's kinda obvious that they didn't really earn the spots with performance, cuz you know, they didn't.

just like moonglade didn't earn code a spot back then. some boss people made the decision that they get the seed, and people tend to not agree with subjective decisions in sc2

Its funny how true this is,

As for NaNi's removal im for it,
if you watched SotG and listened to incontrol's drunken arguement you'd see why it may have not been the completely correct thing to remove him, but some form of punishment was/is necessary

Really not a fan of this by GOM. Code S is supposed to be about skill, people have to earn their way there. Makes sense from a business perspective to increase foreigner star power, but seeding people in without any kind of skill test (eg MLG) seems very wrong for what's supposed to be the most prestigious tournament. They could have even held playoffs or something and it would be better than this. I was looking forward to seeing IdrA's path back to Code S, and now it's just handed to him on a silver platter?

While clearly one of the top foreigners, I too, would have loved to see his climb back to code S.

Yea ofcourse very logical. Naniwa only got 2nd place in MLG winning a spot just like DRG,MMA and MC did. Idra however went 3-3 vs no names in his wcg group. But he is very popular!

You are making so much sence

Both very tip top players, excited to see how they will do. Hopefully Slayers can help Idra deal with early pressure and hopefully Sen can stop doing those goofy strategies like he does against Hero everytime.
