I'm extremely glad Sen got a spot in Code S. I'm sure he will treasure it as the first Taiwanese player in GSL history.

Sen got his spot as a direct consequence of Naniwa having his spot revoked, as told by Artosis during the broadcast earlier today.

This happened in Code A and I didn't like it then. Only one foreigner out of the many given invitations/MLG invites did anything of worth. Only Huk got to the quarterfinals; everyone else either lost in the first round or destroyed in the round of thirty-two. Now they're giving CODE S spots?! Up-and-Downs was one thing, but now you're directly putting players in the biggest tournament of the world while all the other players have to fight through Code A qualifiers...then Code A...then, if they get past the first round and don't win the next two matches, the Up-and-Downs...and then finally, if they can go through all that, they get Code S. The Code A invitations to foreigners was supposed to get more foreign blood in Code S. Sadly, only Huk, after what was probably six months of invitations, got to Code S. Everyone else failed. This proves that giving foreigner free slots into Code S is nonsensical. If the foreigners were proving to get through Code A and get into Code S by themselves, that would be one thing, but they haven't.

If you bothered to read the thread, everyone is criticizing GOM, and quite rightly so.

Was finally getting into Starcraft to a point where I considered paying to watch the GSL (And won't, now), but this kind of stuff over a single thrown match is just childish. He threw one match, so what. Oh, wait, it was the community's current favorite scapegoat, guess we'll shit all over him now. Utter bullshit. Wrong thread mate. On the otherhand, the decision to give Idra and Sen the Code S spots is also a bullshit decision. There hasn't been a single justification for other than "they're popular" which is a horrible horrible way to run one of the few (and the best) purely merit based tournaments. It dilutes everything significant about the GSL.

All in all, quite a disgusting move by gom. That game was actually more entertaining than some of the other games that day.

No disrespect to idra and sen, both good players but it just smells bad when they get into code S this way.

If i say select is code B standard, would you consider that hate? No, that is my opinion and probably opinion of the majority. Hate and insult would be like calling Naniwa a loser/dick and etc.

Idra fans im sorry but Idra will be crushed , besides him being as BM as Naniwa he is Code B material now ... Besides , he left korea because he knew he had no chance , now he comes back without deserving and all of a sudden hes code S good ? It will be worse... The spots should have been given by playing and not for free... this Blizzard Cup was supposed to be epic and memorable but we only talk about naniwa..

I have no idea what Gom thinks they're doing. I know they want more foreigners but what did Sen do to deserve his spot? He's been one of the top foreigners but if you ban someone at least hold qualifiers or something.

And if someone drops out that got his spot over a qualifier that the next person in line gets it. (funny to call mlg and stuff qualifier lol)
