But is there a written rule that he actually violated to justify this severe punishment?

Idra got the spot because he's popular and GSL wants more foreigners so that their tickets sell. It's not because his skill is above all others trying to qualify that he needs to go straight into Code S. I like Idra. I want him in Code S. But I want to see him earn it by testing his skills in Up-and-Downs. IdrA is not more popular overall than NaDa. Maybe to foreigners, but he still only has a fraction of the fans NaDa has. And Nada and Polt dropped down. You cannot give it to someone who was dropped out of Code S. Possibly they could've run a new mini-Code A type tournament, but instead they chose the former Code S player who never dropped down. Whatever accomplishments (and he has them) since then really aren't that important. Honestly, the original Code A spots given to foreigners is more puzzling/pandering than IdrA getting the Code S spot, imo.

If you matchfix in games that actually matters for GSL, you get a "temp ban" by your team, not by the league. And if you proberush in a game that had no other purpose than to take place in a tournament not directly related to the GSL, you lose your whole progress in the GSL and get punished by the league in the hardest way possible Sorry GOMTV, as much as I respect you, but I think you made the wrong decision. Choya did it on ladder to get back to his real MMR fast. He also got banned from GSTL. Coca's punishment was harsh and how do you know that GOM wouldn't have kicked him out if Slayers didnt? And Naniwa's situation is a matter of respect, not rules. Nestea played for real, and other players would have too, foreigners or not including even Idra.

Why not a top ranking Korean like Nada or Polt? Why not the guy who was behind Naniwa at Providence in Huk or Haypro? I'm saying this one more time. Have you considered that they picked Sen because he REALLY does have a huge following in Taiwan and other regions? Maybe GOM wants to "please" Taiwanese scene/fans? Might just as well be that factor.

Foreigner get invited in korean tournaments (code S). Koreans wouldnt be able to play foreign qualification tours all the time. Foreigner wouldnt be able to qualify through code A early enough even if they would just win everything in there (which they wouldnt) but foreigners in Code S ARE a big publicity move for GomTV. Fair deal imo. as long as noone in Code A "really" gets hurt (everyone who wouldve qualified will qualify, its simply the runner up who isnt a runner up now. Wow, big deal.) On December 14 2011 18:40 Titorelli wrote: What??? In what way did Idra earn that spot? Why Idra???? Idra was already succesfull in Code S and has proven himself and he did not drop out. He simple left Korea (What u think about that is a whole other story). Further more, Idra has much "Enemys" in Code S --> Publicity.

But failed very close on making it into Code A twice after those offers. I think he may changed his mind because of this. If not he will win his Code A Spot anyways! HOPE! Never taking an invite that isnt based on tournament results.

Starcraft is a professional game and we don't need attitudes and disrespect from people like Naniwa. Just be glad he's not banned for life, as he would if he pulled the same stunt in any Esport in Korea aka sc1 this is wildly ignorant

Sen is no way code S level. Not to mention the amount of good players in up & downs like polt, bomber, losira, hero and many more whom could have dominated Sen any day. I really dislike this move and if Naniwa is banned, i'm even more disgusted by gom tv.

2. He's back in Korea and qualified for the Up&Down matches. 3. You have a spot to fill. Idra I can see. Sen on the other hand, I can't. He's done nothing GSL/MLG partnership related. He hasn't qualified for the Up&Downs in January. This really came out of nowhere.
