i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

It's kind of weird how one player's immaturity has shifted so much of the blame to GOM.

No, it's not weird at all. Sure, it was a dick move on Naniwa's part, but had GSL not allowed players to play a pointless match, this never would've happened in the first place. I'm not so sure I wanted to see two players perform while pulling punches "for the sake of entertainment" anyway. And what reason does GSL have for throwing Naniwa out? Do they have a rule that explicitly states players may not act like dicks?

I laugh at all these people posting they're boycotting GSL, we all know you'll end up watching anyway.

IdrA stated a few months ago that he would rather fight through Code A than be given a direct seed into the Up & Down matches or Code S but it's not like he would refuse it if offered. It's too good to pass up.

People seem to overlook that BOTH Idra and Sen has very large following, especially Idra and i would say Sen has pretty big following as well. (Taiwanese fans and such)

That is good enough reason for GOM to give them a Code S spot

But that's a pretty terrible way to run a tournament. It may be good from a business point of view but it ruins the competition lol.

Too much drama. Can we go back in time or something? NaNiwa losing his Code S seed is just...it seems way too harsh a punishment when he legitimately earned that spot.

I don't get why they didn't just hold a wildcard tournament for people who lose at the Up and Downs like they did back in the first season of code S when LiveForever left to the army and also when Rain left. They have an actual off-season this time so they certainly wouldn't have problem with just holding a small online tournament to determine who deserves the Code S.

Because Idra and Sen are popular and they're selling season tickets.

'IDRA, HUK, AND SEN IN THE NEW SEASON OF GSL 2012!' will sell. They want new viewers/more money. That's all this is.

Jinro was offered it awhile ago but he declined because he wants to earn his spot.

Im talking about the next season. Jinro declined it when he thought he wasnt good enough for it. But failed very close on making it into Code A twice after those offers. I think he may changed his mind because of this. If not he will win his Code A Spot anyways! HOPE!

The strength of Code S has upped ten times since Idra left. If Idra gets his spot back, Rain and LiveForever should also get their spots back as well.

Are they trying to qualify?

Okay, so why not give the spot to Nada or Polt? Both higher ranked in GSL points than Idra and they have both made semifinals in the past few months.

Idra got the spot because he's popular and GSL wants more foreigners so that their tickets sell. It's not because his skill is above all others trying to qualify that he needs to go straight into Code S. I like Idra. I want him in Code S. But I want to see him earn it by testing his skills in Up-and-Downs.

This is an obvious move by GOM to not completely upset foreign fans. If you've seen some of the stupidity on the forum lately they're saying korean netizens are being racist against naniwa if they decided to punish him for what he did.

Gom giving out free code S without a competition
players like Hero/Puma/sase have to qualify while sen which has 0 acheivements at MLG or GSL gets in code S without a reason.
A small case can be made for Idra as he did well in MLG

And Naniwa which qualified and just due to a probe rush has lost his GSL spot... In the future no cannon rush/4gate/6pool can be done as it is inappropriate and has too low chance of winning?? WTF GOM...

You're right, Sen has no accomplishments such as qualifying for GSL in its open seasons and making it to the RO16 where he faced Nestea when he was unbeatable ZvZ, and gave Nestea two of his closest ZvZ's of all time.

he's also the best 3rd place finisher. if kong line is second place, is there a 3rd place name? Sen for 3rd at next code S! Sen line!

I think sC is a pretty sure bet as one of the players dropping out, as his pneumothorax seems to have relapsed.

I'm not sure, this relapse happened a while back and he was due to be released again any day now. Given there's actually some downtime till next season I'd have thought he has plenty of time both to rest and get some practice in. Maybe doctor's orders are he takes some serious time off though =?

I hope you're right, man. I love me some sC. Hopefully he'll be back.

So let me get this straight...

If you try to cheat/exploit the system to get into the GSL like Choya did, you basically have to apologize and eveything is fine.
If you matchfix in games that actually matters for GSL, you get a "temp ban" by your team, not by the league.
And if you proberush in a game that had no other purpose than to take place in a tournament not directly related to the GSL, you lose your whole progress in the GSL and get punished by the league in the hardest way possible

Sorry GOMTV, as much as I respect you, but I think you made the wrong decision.

EDIT:
Ok I was wrong about Choya not getting a punishment. He was banned from GSTL, yes, however this is not even near to losing your code s spot.

Also, the game where coca did matchfix was not for the GSL, but it did actually matter. I stand corrected but the point is still there.

Guys we have known about the two invite spots into code S since they announced the new format. Gom isn't randomly just adding them, it was designed that way.
