It might not seem polite, but I think it's interesting to have pro-gamers as openly emotional as Idra and Naniwa. It shows that they care about the game a lot, probably in different ways than most other players.

I hate repeating myself, but that's how it is.

Then perhaps the Koreans should understand that NaNiWa isn't Korean and thus has different standards to them. They should then hold him to his own standards instead of holding him to their own. Holding people outside your own culture to your culture's standards and then crucifying them for it is incredibly arrogant.

Not being able to show some understanding and respect after months is way worse.

its only GOMs fault. they had other formats going, where they canceled matches, when they weren't needed.
or just take a bo5, you don't play all matches only to get from a 3:0 to a different result.

find a format, where you only have meaningful matches. thats the reason why in most leagues the last matches are all played at the same time.

"Greg Fields is an angel compared to Naniwa"
hahahaha, am I the only one find this extremely funny?

@topic,
yea, it was pathetic, considering how many fans were excited about this game, how many players want to be at his shoes, playing in Korea against the top players.

The game had NOTHING at stake, it was "unprofessional" but it wasn't a career ending move like most make it to be. This tournament is being run quite badly, first off being best of ones the games are mostly a joke, and pointless games were played...I mean, even after the ro6 was decided, they still played games just for the hell of it...then they "Tied" it and had to play an extra 3 games? What the hell is that? What for? Doesn't gom tv pride itself in having a "No pointless games on stream" policy? Naniwa isn't an entertainer, he's in it to win it , not please "fans" . Everyone is taking things WAY over proportion.

Naniwa is a guest in their home. Not the other way around.

He's not a guest - he earned the right to be in that tournament. Besides, it's quite rude to force your own etiquette upon your guests.

Expecting people to be respectful is indeed VERY rude.

Naniwa is 0-10 on GomTV and being in Code S. What he did in his game vs Nestea is just unacceptable, I agree with the koreans. It's unfair against the paying viewers and his fans and not to forget the whole production.

How can he be in Code S? Does he deserve it for saving up points on MLG and getting a poleposition spot and having ONE good day vs the koreans that have fought their way through the whole bracket all day long on MLG?

I dont think so at least.

Code A qualifiers is WAY harder than saving up points on MLG...the GSL/MLG system is quite unfair. The guy is 0-10 on GomTV how can he deserve a Code S spot? And after what he did today should be the nail in the coffin, I was actually looking forward to see NesTea vs Nani the whole freaking day.

You must have been watching different GSL's and MLG's to everyone else, because they have been amazing. If something as small as this can ruin something so great for you, then I feel sorry for you. I hope that if/when you get a girlfriend, you don't dump her the first time you hear her fart, because she "ruined" it for you....

Gom need Pro gamer agreement sign about rules and stuff before entering tournament so there is no grey area and miscommunication between foreigners player and Korea tournaments. last time it happen is Jinro incident picking for Huk and placing the placard on the board.

Naniwa responds on twitter: "apparently people got upset when i probe rushed nestea, the game was pointless and it couldnt change anything in the tournament."

people who bought the HD Pass just to see good games from him, will not approve of this behavior. It may also be difficult for his team to aquire sponsors for players, who refuse to do their Jobs. Why should I buy A Naniwa shirt? An amateur player is allowed to throw away games, a professional is not.

That's amaze me how much energy people can find and waste to uninteresting and worthless things. Moreover to bash a guy they don't even know for a thing they're not really concerned.

I completely agree with the Koreans reactions. Most people fail to see the point here. It's not about winning that prize money or advancing to the next round. Naniwa has an obligation towards himself as a pro-gamer ( most people here probably would agree that it can be called a profession) and towards his fans to always try to play to his best abilities. By throwing that game he did not only shit on his fans but also on everybody watching (and possibly paying for it) as well as himself as a pro-gamer.

Let's take the World Cup (football) for example. Let's imagine that two teams will not advance from the group stages, and one of those teams doesn't give a shit about the game, wouldn't most people say that its just bad sportsmanship and be angry at that team? In reverse that's like MC wouldn't have given a shit about winning against DRG because he would advance anyways (Bad example because 1place gets a bye...but you get the gist of what i mean).

I can understand that Naniwa was probably pissed after those 3 good games he lost but playing that last "meaningless" game to the best of his abilities is exactly what distinguishes a pro-gamer from a bronzie or platinum guy. Besides it was the highest form of BM towards Nestea, especially after telling him to not be so angry and relax more during the press conference.

you guys really don't understand what disrespect it, maybe it's because you're too young i don't know. it's fucking disrespectful to do something like this, ESPECIALLY when Nestea is his elder...

disrespect is something no professional should ever have.

Simple solution

a) Differentiate the prize pool difference between 4th and 5th by either increasing more for 4th place, decreasing the amount for 5th or both.

b) Penalise Naniwa with an official first and only warning for his behaviour

c) (a) & (b)

LOL. Lacks qualifications for progamers? Arent one of the qualifications of being a progamer getting paid to play? Money, something that the winner of that particular match wasnt awarded?
