I think some are missing the point, he is not only staying in Korea, he is in a house with other players which should allow better interaction and incentive to seriously train.

It is also going to be interesting to watch him stream his games in Korea and follow how he is going, this has to be better than some guy in his bedroom in Canada. Getting out of his parents house and into a Zone where training is his primary goal can also only be a good thing, it should help him not only be a better player but maybe mature as a person as well.

Good on him for having the guts and drive to do it.

Actually, to be honest, I'm jealous as shit of him. I mean, it's gonna be hard work, so I'm not jealous of that, but I've wanted to go to Korea really, really bad for a while.

Have fun whatever you do! Bring home an SNSD!

I'm sorry desRow but I STILL can't like you and your attitude even after 5/6 years. You probably don't ever remember why though...

I'm finding this move kinda useless... you probably won't catch up since everyone is evolving so fast and I never found that little "something" in your play nor have I been amazed, which you absolutely need to compete with koreans, especially for Code A.
Good luck though... you'll need it.

wow, really? this kind of thing makes me wish I had kept playing competitively a few months after release.

+ Show Spoiler +

let's be honest though, out of the pool of NA talent desrow doesn't exactly come out on the top. I find this kind of weird.

I feel like this is going to be like Drewbie all over again, he goes to Korea, spends some time there but doesn't improve too marginally. I mean Desrow is going for a longer time no doubt but it seems like if you don't have the mindset and work ethic to take full advantage of South Korea's benefits, you don't improve more than you would in your own region.
With that in mind, best of luck Desrow.

yeah i thought it was weird a team announced there player going to korea yet not helping him what so ever. I hope Desrow finds a team that appreciates the effort he is putting into making himself a better player and want to help support him! I mean, i dont kno the details maybe they arent in the position where they can help him but please... Dont misslead people for better attention on urself. Made you look so ugly in my eyes.

As I said in my previous post: we never intended to deceive anyone. Just really excited that des will be going to korea.
We will help him out any way we can during his stay (mostly our korean line-up can be of help to him).
I don't really see how the financials about the whole matter change the fact that Marc is going to Korea to practice.

The OP speaks of ToD and the other foreigners at the Gom.tv house, as well as our korean line-up.
How will he not be playing with better players?

Is tod really higher caliber than the people he hits on NA ladder? Desrow simply isn't at a level where he would benefit from korea.

I don't know who your korean line up is, so I wont comment.

yeah, i doubt there will be even remotely enough ROI to justify the trip, but i guess we'll see.

this is why in starcraft 1 the proteams even tough u could suck alot at starcraft 1 they give u over 1 year before kicking u out of the proteam because it dosent take 1 week 1 months its different for everyperson to undestearnd what they doing and how to get better mechanics / undestearnding of the game / and game sense.

so please stop bashing on someone that is going to try to achive something just cause he isnt good at the game at the moment.

Does anyone actually have the ability to read such a garbled wall of junk text with lack of any trace of grammar whatsoever?

I mean there's grammar naziing... and then there's when something is written so terribly it's literally painful to read.

This post from rei pretty much mirrors my sentiments exactly (in that I don't think he can get THAT much from it, but best of luck regardless):

Do you even know desrow? the reason TL vets here does not like him is because he constantly brags about himself beating big name players, posting replays all over TL without letting his follows know his overall records against all those ppl in his replays that he brag about.

And Chill is right, Desrow should enjoy his time in korea, but he doesn't have the right mind set to acquire enough confident and skill to compete with the best. If he had a good mindset we wouldn't be seeing all these brag blogs.

Oh and for your information, there is such thing as talents in sc2, this talent is the ability to always make the right decision under stress and high pressure situations. None of his10 hours a day 7 days a week practice hours is going to create a high pressure situation consistently.

After said all that, I honestly hope desrow will have a good time, and become better at sc2, tryout the Code A qualifier, but don't give up when you fail at first attempt, keep try and try again.

'life of lively to live to life of full life thx to shield battery'
how sad that sc2 has no shield battery :(

drewbie was better after his stay in Korea. I remember watching him play Stephano during the NASL Open and his play had improved a lot. Granted, it was a single online Bo3, and Stephano wasn't playing his best, but still drewbie looked really good. To be completely honest though, after watching desRow's stream today, he really doesn't seem like he's that good. Also when he was losing he was going on and on about how "Well this guy really isn't that good" which is not the mindset of a Code S or even Code A player. I doubt he'll make it into Code A just because of how difficult it all is and how unskilled he is relative to the Koreans he'll be up against.

Also, I've never even heard of any of the LgN Korean players, do they show up to Code A qualifiers even? I don't recognize any of their names.
