Wait did I miss when stephano moved to the oGs house? I thought he was quitting sc2 to pursue university studies?

This is one of many stupid things idra said and now everyone is repeating it. There is more to zerg than ling/bling/muta that idra does, doesn't mean everything else is "gimicky".

Thanks for letting us know how much more intelligent you are than a whole group of different people, while you don't even know most of the people who belong in that group.

Really you know this how? You speak with alot of korean top players on a regulary basis? Or are you just saying what Idra with his Stephano envy is saying?

The fact of the matter is the only zerg that is getting figured out is Idra. Look what Puma sayd in the NASL

How can you figure someone out that plays so many differently styles I never got that argument

Everytime I see that comment I lose faith in the human race

Q- Why did you make this thread?
A- People will watch Stephano because of this thread. I love Teamliquid. Even if people hate and troll it just reminds me that I'm not the only one passionate about SC2. When I watches Broodwar this place was a desert. We could all probably fit in one room together. Now i get pages and pages of flame and hate within minutes of posting about SC2 and it makes me feel all giddy inside. If someone reads this thread and asks themselves "What is SC2 and why is everyone so opinionatd about this thing" and then goes on to watch a VOD or replay they may become a fan. If one person, just one, joins our ranks because of this, I will consider this a success.
Teamliquid Hwaiting!

No. We are already watching him; your thread doesn't add anything, sorry

Stephano is not the best foreigner.. to say that is absurd. It's far to early to lay such claims. And as for all of the EG/IdrA bashing, you couldn't be more off. Look at IdrA, HuK, and Puma and who they've been going up against; they've all improved. Even the less significant players of EG, who've hardly gotten any notice in the past, have begun to make impressive improvements. Look at DeMuslim; he grows in popularity after every tournament.

You've already acknowledged how quickly players can rise and all, yet you're this quick to jump on Stephano as the best foreigner... Meanwhile HuK and IdrA continue to perform on a consistent level, taking entire tournaments as well as being the top placed foreigners.

All I got to say 51% win ratio Idra Master. Stephano 73% win ratio GM top 25 put things into perspective dont it?. The only other zerg in the world that got over 70% win ratio on the korean GM is DRG.

Beside that what a shit thread I doubt the op is even a Stephano fan.

you're talking korean ladder? where stephano made a new account and got to pad his W/L by playing noobs on a new account, where idras MMR started off facing all the pros like he was before he left korea? Hmmm.... nice logic there broski

Once again you havent done you research buddy. He loaned this account when it was in high masters first day he played low GM. 2nd day he played high GM and l8r that evening got promoted to GM did you know that stephanos last 25 matches is GM is a 74% win ratio?

You so cute!. Those idra fanbous quite delusional but atleast do some research before you make statements that just make you look stupide

Steph is 70% on ladder atm, seems like he drops 5% everytime you speak son. Nice researching

Jesus crist arguing with Idra fanboys is like trying to make a point to children in kindergarden. Anyway im done with this thread when people just spouting crap with no research what so ever whats the point.

Im just gonna say this last time to all the Idra fans: 51% stuck in masters Idra. 70%+ GM top 30 Stephano.

Now this must be veyr hard and painfull for you guys but facts its facts.

Cya you around

I like both IdrA and Stephano but holy shit you must be dumb HAHA... You think a player of IdrAs calibre is STUCK in masters? You talk as if you were some fucking 10 year old kid, IdrA was #1 on the ladder in GM for A LONG TIME last season, does that make him the best player in the world? NO.

Ladder means jack shit, really.

So many dumb freaking fanboys in here, disgusting tbh... Trying to prove that 1 player is better than the other by comparing their W/L on ladder.

When was Idra rank 1 on korean GM?

And ofcourse ladder dont mean anything unless the situation was reversed, herp derp. Thats just how TL is atm if you from US and have won 3 major tournament in 2months an after 1 week in Korea are top 30 GM with a 70% win ratio you would be a god among mortals.

But if you from french and got the same result you just an overhyped scrub that will get figured out

I can't even read a video game thread without hearing some over exaggerated misconception / useless bashing of my country. Sweet

Yeah same for me cvt You stop your "surrender monkey pussy" shit and we will stop being usa-sceptics, deal ? :p

On the subject : who cares, he's good everyone seems to agree on that, he's probably not the best player, probably one of the best foreigners, let the kid play and enjoy nice games. Stop the flame war, let's make peace !

but You do realize that most of stephanos winnings have been in french only tournaments which didn't really have any koreans at all, or any of the other top european or american players, right? That's like saying Idra would be the best player in the world because if he moved to some country that held its own tournaments with no outsiders he would make a ton of money.

Yeah, ESWC, IPL3, IPL4 Qualifier, Assembly Summer and Battle in Berlin which accounts for about 70k of his winnings where some awesome french only tournaments, too bad no other top players from either europe or korea participated.

Edit; this thread is stupid, and so is a majority of the comments following it.

Stephano is a great foreign player for sure..
As people mentioned in this thread; note that:
1. GM ladder in Korea means nothing; it means you have a certain amount of skills but the rankings hardly matters as it's just a place to train/polishing up. or you seriously dont belive byun is the #1 player in SC2 do you?
2. There's no clear cut evidence of Stephano being the #1 player in the world or even #1 foreigner...For MVP, it's just known....Idra has stated it...Leenock/Jjakji,, MMA, Nestea, casters..it's just generally known he's the best SC2 player at this moment. Stephanos reputation is moreso, he's acknowledged as a solid player with good mechanics who's the new generation of stars into the sc2 scene but hardly striking fear into opponents.
3. If you want to debate about IPL...again...he beat koreans but they were top notch...It wasn't even that impressive as his finalist FXO_Lucky, is regarded "easy" by the SlayerS Clan, and there's been more impressive foreigner victories ala: HuK at MLG Orlando and Naniwa for MLG GI. Idra's one is debatable.
4. Yes, he practices little and if he played more, he'd be a lot better for sure! However, he wouldnt improve so much that hes stomping everyone he goes against. The transition from bronze all the way upto masters is large difference in skill cap however transitioning from Class A to Class S esque player..is just refining the very little things...minimizing mistakes, quicker reaction times and gaining starsense.
5. He's inconsistent. To be a top player, you have to have a rate of consistency...NEstea is always up there, so is MVP, MMA etc. Stephano has a large flux of ups and downs as noted his loss to Boxer at MLG Orlando, and his abysmal performance at Dreamhack.

I think Stephano is one of the greatest foreign players right now, but he's not the best in the world. He needs more time to prove himself. Like Idra said, people may soon figure out his strategies and will know how to beat him. There isn't any doubt in my mind that Stephano is very good at this game with so little practice.

Just curious, if you're talking about Dreamhack, what "others" were there that didn't pass the first stage that were surprising?
