but You do realize that most of stephanos winnings have been in french only tournaments which didn't really have any koreans at all, or any of the other top european or american players, right? That's like saying Idra would be the best player in the world because if he moved to some country that held its own tournaments with no outsiders he would make a ton of money.

LOL time for koreans to move to france to easily make the ''most'' part of 70k? I don't understand how someone could believe this themselves.

Anyway while prize money says allot there's some players who never win but yet have huge potential, players like Ret for the foreigners and Clide and Leenock before MLG.
We should stop trying to power rank foreigners constantly, there's tournaments everywhere around the globe and only a select few amount of people who visit all of them. Ever wonder why IEM has upsets like every tournament? Because they don't have an invite system. It's impossible to judge who the #1 foreigner is - even top 5 should be hard.

Clide before MLG and after MLG was pretty much the same.

'' and Clide and Leenock before MLG. '' I am not sure what the correct spelling would be please correct me if I messed that sentence up, but isn't it clear that I mean them as individuals?

It isn't clear, it can be read either way. given that Clide has no MLG results i knew what you meant though =P

So what would the correct way be?

Comma after Clide would do it.

lol this thread has became a shitfest ever since I left yesterday , it even has a new title now.

It's basically people going stephano > idra or idra > stephano .

We'll eventually see from his tournament consistency if stephano is so great or whether he'll die down with the hype

And to those people citing stephano's winnings as an argument to why he's the best foreigner. He won like 2 or 3 tournaments with huge prize pools and that's it.

Stephano is a good player nonetheless .

I've won 10 games this season in masters leauge, losing none: 100% winrate, I must be the best player in the world.

Logicians, logicians everywhere.

Honestly, Stephano is overhyped. I think the fact he has such high winrates and posts some tournament results is because of the style he tends to play. MC use to play a style that gave him unbelievable win-rates but eventually it was figured out and he went through a slump. Stephano is just a phase.

prize money says very little. Huk won MLG against a field just as hard as when Stephano won IPL. Only thing was Huk got $5000 and Stephano got like 30-40

I would say Huk's run was harder. MC, Hero, July, Marineking, StC vs Violet, Inori, StC, Lucky? If some random Korean guy won Code A by beating the Koreans Stephano beat, we would be saying 'lol he's soo lucky he's gonna get rolled in Code S'.

In fact, where is the hype for Slayers Brown and Startale Parting? Their Code A runs have been harder than Stephano's IPL3 run, beating far more notable opponents. Top, Clide, Killer, or Superstar, Ryung, Losira, is far far more impressive. Where's the hype for Supernova? Did anyone realise he started this season in bottom of Code A? He beat Vines, Squirtle, Gumiho to get back into Code S. THAT's PRETTY HARD.

Why is that even a debate? What has Idra won after so long in the scene compared to Stephanos?

Who cares they're korean

Anyway stephano will play tomorrow against MVP, Hero, MC and DRG, so we'll see if stephano is in their league or not. The hardest group ever.

Not fair to Idra when Stephano was busy winning IPL 3, ESWC, and IPL 4 UK qualifier all with strong koreans in Idra did win IEM china over Elfi very impressive!

Stephano fanboys are retarded. He is good, probably one of the best foreigners(along with Huk, Naniwa, Idra, Sen, etc) but that's it.

Stephano is not the best foreigner.. to say that is absurd. It's far to early to lay such claims. And as for all of the EG/IdrA bashing, you couldn't be more off. Look at IdrA, HuK, and Puma and who they've been going up against; they've all improved. Even the less significant players of EG, who've hardly gotten any notice in the past, have begun to make impressive improvements. Look at DeMuslim; he grows in popularity after every tournament.

You've already acknowledged how quickly players can rise and all, yet you're this quick to jump on Stephano as the best foreigner... Meanwhile HuK and IdrA continue to perform on a consistent level, taking entire tournaments as well as being the top placed foreigners.

All I got to say 51% win ratio Idra Master. Stephano 73% win ratio GM top 25 put things into perspective dont it?. The only other zerg in the world that got over 70% win ratio on the korean GM is DRG.

Beside that what a shit thread I doubt the op is even a Stephano fan.

you're talking korean ladder? where stephano made a new account and got to pad his W/L by playing noobs on a new account, where idras MMR started off facing all the pros like he was before he left korea? Hmmm.... nice logic there broski

Once again you havent done you research buddy. He loaned this account when it was in high masters first day he played low GM. 2nd day he played high GM and l8r that evening got promoted to GM did you know that stephanos last 25 matches is GM is a 74% win ratio?

You so cute!. Those idra fanbous quite delusional but atleast do some research before you make statements that just make you look stupide

Steph is 70% on ladder atm, seems like he drops 5% everytime you speak son. Nice researching

Jesus crist arguing with Idra fanboys is like trying to make a point to children in kindergarden. Anyway im done with this thread when people just spouting crap with no research what so ever whats the point.

Im just gonna say this last time to all the Idra fans: 51% stuck in masters Idra. 70%+ GM top 30 Stephano.

Now this must be veyr hard and painfull for you guys but facts its facts.

Cya you around

I like both IdrA and Stephano but holy shit you must be dumb HAHA... You think a player of IdrAs calibre is STUCK in masters? You talk as if you were some fucking 10 year old kid, IdrA was #1 on the ladder in GM for A LONG TIME last season, does that make him the best player in the world? NO.

Ladder means jack shit, really.

So many dumb freaking fanboys in here, disgusting tbh... Trying to prove that 1 player is better than the other by comparing their W/L on ladder.

When was Idra rank 1 on korean GM?

And ofcourse ladder dont mean anything unless the situation was reversed, herp derp. Thats just how TL is atm if you from US and have won 3 major tournament in 2months an after 1 week in Korea are top 30 GM with a 70% win ratio you would be a god among mortals.

But if you from french and got the same result you just an overhyped scrub that will get figured out

Don't mention nationalities, some mods are always getting mad over it.
