i didnt want to make a thread but theres a reason that i dont know and i want to know. Not necessarily true, some counter-examples are easily identified: HongUn (streaming now) and SlayerSMin (streaming now) use Twitch.TV.

Kidding me? Twitch.tv is laggy as hell, every single stream! Never have I watched an own3d stream with lag, dunno why but one service is crap and the other is not. Also MLG/gomtv and such is also lagless lol.
Also does anyone else think its silly they kill the entire NA SC2 server for a whole day to patch WoW? I feel that they should work that out, thats pretty retarded to me.

So I finally got my hands on a Korean version of Starcraft. And holy North America ladder is like 1-2 league behind Korea ladder. I am a high master player in NA but only low diamond on the Korean server. Their strategy is much more micro intensive and much more harass base. They will not let you sit back and macro and if there is a timing they can punish you for they will take advantage of it. Any midmaster on the Korean server can easily be GM in North America. I wonder how the Euro server compares to NA?

I dunno if this is the place to ask, but it's a question for Jinro
Many months ago, we saw something unique from zerg players in GSL, but it only happened for about a week, and I want to know why.
Late game ZvP and ZvT, zerg would be on many bases, as would their opponent. They would have brood lords + infestors, and the opponents would have void rays or ghosts, etc.
The strategy zerg used, was to keep a giant cloud of like speed 50 overlords with their army. How can ghosts snipe when there are 50 overlords covering them? They would all be dropping creep as well, so roaches and lings and banes under the overlord ball would get an instant speed boost when pushing and stuff.
I don't see how a terran is supposed to deal with that. They can't focus fire BL with ghosts or vikings and overlords have 200 hp for a measly 100 minerals, easily worth it later game ZvX to tank.
The only counter I saw to this was storm, as it kills overlords in 10 seconds.
Why has this died off?

Hello everyone,
In accordance with the Team Liquid rules i have not created a new post. This is simply to acknowledge that my previous post, which has been locked, was incorrect.
I appologize to anyone who may have thought Leenock was a bonjwa or an octopus as a result of this post. It has come to my attention that Leenock is not an octopus and is not a bonjwa. A bonjwa is someone who has been a good player for a year, and only MVP is a person who can qualify and also Nestea. This is because MC is not good anymore and MMA has not been good for a year and Leenock has not been good for a year.
Thankyou.

Dear Belha,
I believe that you will be able to find casts from Dreamhack available on Day9's youtube or blip.tv channels.
Thankyou.

Why has this died off? Hahaha this is awesome I would love to see this used. Another dead zerg tactic is making the lair at the natural and hiding the spire.

Hi, I was wondering if maybe someone here could help me out!
I'm a girl and I know NOTHING about Starcraft. My new boyfriend is really interested in it and I want to try and impress him with knowing general stuff about it! I've seen him go on the site a bunch of times and thought it might be useful. Is there anyone here who could sort of just give me a general idea about it and share any important information one might need to know?
Thank you so much for any help

What is the ideal number of probes to cut at for a one base 3 gate robo timing? Should I continually produce probes if I'm planning on expanding behind it?
|
If you plan on expanding I wouldn't cut probes. That will put you way ahead if your attack does good damage. @Alpina: I don't seem to have that problem at all :/
|
Question. What does the protoss shield upgrade actually do? I don't see an increase in shield energy or anything when I get it. If I only have 1 forge up, is it better to get the shield than the armor upgrade? Why or why not? Is it worth upgrading both armor and shield instead of attack and armor/shield?
Another question. Why do pros only put up one or two turrents/cannons/spores in their base when the opponent is doing a lot of drop play or muta harass? And I think a better question is, why do a lot of pros run their drop ships or mutas away when they could easily move around the single one or even take it out?

That helps, but what if I'm planning on being on one base for an extended period of time? Should I cut, and with how many probes?
