BroodWar NOW does require more skill, but as people get better in SC2 I think it'll end up on the same level or even beyond that (if humanly possible). For example, in SC2 thanks to the fluid pathing units tend to clump up, which is baaaad with the aoe damage abilities in the game. In many instances now alot more units die in pro matches due clumping up then neccecary. I imagine in the future pro gamers able to spread their units in the most optimal way to receive the least amount of damage, etc etc. Some parts in SC2 are easier, but I think that in some area's it's harder. Oh and although BroodWar might be more exciting to watch, for a newcomer (it was only after SC2's announcement I purchased Brood War). For me, it was really hard to get into the game because the recent pro matches seemed to be only casted in Korean. I like personally understanding they're saying. It's like a whole BW section on this forum does not even exist. If you made a thread asking if there were still English commentary, people would link you to at least 3 or 4 different commentator still doing BW games. It annoys me when people say there isn't this and there isn't that when they don't even bother to look for it or at least ask for help. A quick search of the keywords "OSL Commentary" on youtube will link you to some recent casts. And all of you talking about BW without even watching one full game should just quit posting. I've bothered to watch multiple full SC2 games but some of you can't even do that and start posting nonsense? Right...

The amount of SC2 fans who know no shit about BW or esports come here and say things like Rinnegan5 is far superior than nice SC2 fans like ColdLava... you bad SC2 fans give horrible image of the scene, stop being unreasonably dumb. This thread is derailed big time. There was no Esports scene before the SC2. There was a bubble when CS 1.6 was hot and the Quake series. But there was seriously nothing as big as it now is with SC2. Big fucking halls with fans as far as the eye can see? Not even Fatal1ty, NiP(for the oldschool CS 1.6) and SK in its glory days could manage this. I admit I dont know crap about BW but I dont need to. I know it was big in Korea and dead outside of it. A game only being big in Korea is not what I call a big Esports scene. To me Esports should be an international with both Koreans and Foreigners(as we call them) so you get the feeling that you are watching the best of the world. Call me a bad fan or whatever but I just want Esports to get bigger and seriously dont give a crap if BW gets buried because of it!

There are alot of bitter BW elitists running around in this thread hating on SC2. Hypocrite is one word that comes to mind... all you seem to know is BW, whitch is fine. Just dont come into SC2 thread acting high and mighty, i wont kiss your ass simply because you hapen to like BW more than SC2. I respect BW for what it did and does, but i cant respect someone coming across bitter and arrogant, complaning about the game i enjoy to watch. Keep your garbage in your own forum section, make a thread about the subject where you can bash SC2 all you want, if thats your cup of tea.

I'm locking it for 30 minutes so everyone can read this: SC2 Players: Consider that there are people who still love the BW community and feel like their game and community are preemptively being killed. Everybody who played BW and SC2 at a high level know that, in their current form, BW is a more difficult and more balanced game. It's an exciting time for SC2, but be respectful to the BW community. BW Players: Consider that there's a large community of new players that are just excited. They aren't necessarily being disrespectful, they are just excited for the possibilities coming to the game they love. Don't assume they are knowledgable about your community and your love and are purposefully and spitefully attacking it. Thanks. Be back in 30.

So in fact it's BW fans coming to SC2 forum preaching how good BW is and how bad SC2 is and that everyone that didn't follow BW should shut up. Again, I don't get what all the fuss is about, why not just cheer for your BW idols if they should decide to make the switch? Bw is not going anywhere, you'll still be able to play and all...

Also, what is the random use of the word elitist everywhere? If I prefer Coke over Pepsi, am I a Coke elitist? If i prefer T-ara over SNSD, am I a T-ara elitist? How do you play when the player base is diminishing? Have you seen iccup lately?

This just this... As a fan I stopped watching most BW and have been watching almost all Sc2 recently but posts like Rinnegan5 just make me die inside a little. With out the foundations BW gave Sc2, Sc2 would be nowhere right now. It was huge in Korea it gathered crowds over 100,000 people and that just live, add in the TV broadcasts and it gets in the millions! How can you say that isn't a big scene? Even though no foreigners could compete, doesn't mean we didn't watch it either! Back then we didn't care if there were no foreigners it was about watching the best of the best! So before you go and say Sc2 is god and the bringer of E sports blah blah blah, maybe you should look up a little History and learn something before spouting out useless random bullshit!
