Seems pretty worthless tbh. Hellions mobility was always more useful in terms of survivability than HP was. It'll only be useful if the transformation time is pretty much zero. Any sort of delay on that and it'll only be used in big set-piece battles where Hellions are already not really useful.


More armor judging by the 2 shields it holds in the new transformation.

If it was a health buff then re-calculating the health during transformations would be confusing.

Good, the collossus is a catastrophy in game design and the reason that protoss meta game hasnt developed, fuck that unit.

I agree wholeheartedly, it must go in HotS. Also, have anyone seen a pattern in the voting? Majority love the Zerg units which is basically BW all over again, while new non BW units for Terran and Protoss gets dislike.

So protoss lost two units and go three new ones? I was really hoping for a ground based harass unit that could kill workers instead of.. power them down or whatever is going on with that thing.

Will have to wait and see how much stronger they are in battle before saying that. But it's definitely the most boring of the units introduced. :\

Wait..did you just call the dragoon "superbly designed"? It was a hard to micro unit specifically because it's pathing algorithim was poorly designed. That was not on purpose, at all. It turned out to be a great unit sheerly by luck, not by purposeful design.


One might argue that BW *itself* became a competitive game by luck, not by design.

I don't think it's arguable .

Holy crap. I got the sickest nerd chills from watching the trailer!

Here we were all concerned about how adding 1 unit for each race might chance the balance and now it looks like we get an almost completly NEW GAME!!!

HoTS looks sick!! absolutely epic. Will it also turn out to be? Man, I cant wait.

so, powerful combos for replication:

Fungal Growth + Storm (or Colossus) A FG+Storm deals 110 undodgable damage (120 vs. armored) which is pretty insane.
SCV repair + Protoss mech units. This is HUGE. Park some SCVs with your Colossi and watch them never die, or recall a badly damaged gateway-robo army and repair them up before attacking again.
Immortal+Siege Tank. The most unbreakable mech line ever vs. anything on the ground.

If it works on air units, which we dont have confirmation of, you also have
Medivac+Chargelots, which would be crazy potent
PDD+ Guardian shield, aka I am now immune to ranged armies

Yes. I play Random. I want to play Protoss. PvP stinks. It degrades into Colossus fights. I don't wnt Colossus fights. Hence, I don't play Protoss because 1/3 of my games are no fun. Win or lose, I don't have fun in PvP.


That's waht the tempest/ replicator are for! You can fight colossus with air units now, or just create your own colossus for cheaper!

edit: nvm, you can't replicate colossus. :S you still have tempest though.
