Only those who live in Korea, naturally. For example SaSe, he was even in the top10 for a while. The main reason Huk is still in Code S is that most top players there pick the hardest opponents when it comes to group selection, to prove their worth and give the fans great games. Huk on the other hand, always picks the easiest possible opponents in order to have a chance to linger for another season. Nothing wrong with that though, if I wasn't able to compete at the level of the best I would likely do the same. So when Naniwa, Sase and Thorzain get opponents even easier than the ones Huk is in a group with in Code S and proceed to lose to them (generally 2-0), what exactly does that say about them?

Lets be clear, Huk is Canadian and Select is Korean. Also, even if we all hate on Major he should be on that list, he IS damn good.

You can always face those tougher players later in the tourney. Nestea is also one of top players who seems to recognize this.

How MaNa or Kas is on the list is beyond me but whatever. I find it funny how people say IdrA is on the list when he made it to the Ro8 of the GSL, and was in it for 3 straight seasons. The game may have been newer, but that's still WAY more than any other foreigner except HuK. Thorzain is prob #3, SeleCT #4. you idiotic bastard User was temp banned for this post. I don't understand why your judgement is so harsh. What he stated is personally what I believe to be true, although it is debatable as everyone on that list is capable of posting results and taking games off of each other. I don't want to turn this into a balance thread, but I personally couldn't put a Terran at the top of the list as the race is just simply better than the other two. . What you said is such a joke. You say you don't want to turn this into a balance thread, and then you make a blatant remark about imbalance. Let's turn this into a balance thread: overall, this game is balanced. Isn't that nice? Plus, just because a person plays a race doesn't mean that they don't have incredible mechanical skills or game sense especially since the game is constantly changing. If I had to say the best player in the world, I would say it is IMMvp because from his recent play he has proven that he has mastered all three match-ups to the point where I think that he could beat any other player. If you asked me a couple months ago, I would have said NesTea, because Mvp's TvP was fairly weak. However, despite Terran getting nerfed since then and Protoss getting buffed, he has managed to get his TvP into better shape. So you can go on and on and on about how ThorZaIN or Mvp only win as much as they do because they play Terran (the imba race /sarcasm ![]() Plus, I think that a lot of the causation for the "imbalance" is that a vast majority of Korean players chose to play Terran and therefore in the StarCraft Mecca of Korea, the Terran metagame is changing a lot more quickly than the Protoss or Zerg one is. But honestly, other than Korean Terrans, you don't really see Terran domination anywhere else in the world. In the USA I think I see more Ps and Zs doing well than I see Ts; in Europe there are a lot of great Ps whom I see consistently do well (MaNa, White-Ra, NaNiwa, ect.) and the number of Ts who are consistently doing as well is around the same number and the amount of Zs is pretty close to. So I guess in a sense there is a certain amount of "imbalance"; but it's not in game balance, it's an off-balance of the number of Koreans playing Terran and really getting exposure to the number of Protoss and Zerg players in Korea doing the same. In game 2, Thorzain did game ending damage with an elevator play that caught DRG off guard. It's just a build order timing, that worked great this time. But it's not a demonstration of impressive skills. Watching the rest of the game, Thorzain looked really bad. In game 4, DRG would have crushed Thorzain if he hadn't forgotten banneling speed. So yeah, Thorzain can take games out of DRG if he is lucky enough to catch him off guard or to have DRG make a huge mistake. Even if the score doesn't show it, I think that in this serie Thorzain was really below the korean terrans level. DongRaeGu just beat Mvp 2-0. The guys ZvT is incredible. For a non-Korean to do better against DRG than Mvp is pretty fricking incredible. Against a player that good it's difficult to catch him off guard and also to exploit the fact that he may have made a mistake. DongRaeGu just beat ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm very surprised by the outcome of this poll so far though. I was expecting more people to go "aJsfjsgjbgjbsgd STEPHANO!!!! just look at his insane ladder run!!!asdf"

I bet it would look very different, and Stephano is proof. He's only had some recent success beating koreans, never been successful in MLG or something like that, just some online tournaments.

How is that shitty? The whole point of a seed system is to match strong players with less able opponents, so that the best players are likely to meet in the finals. You ever notice how Nadal and Federer never play each other in the first round? Same thing.
