All the money is for player with no skill while you have players such as Stephano, nerchio, Mana, Kas, Strelock, Dimaga, Goody, elfi and many others who are 1000* stronger than TLO, Haypro, Jinro, Idra, tyler and are never invited at invitational tournaments.
So they do small weekly online cup for 100$ and stay in the dark. That is a pitty. -_- They are all EU players so they can't get US spots. TLO, Haypro and Jinro(kinda) seem to be strange picks though. No Mana and no Stephano makes me sad though.

MLG can keep avoiding to invite the best foreigner players. That's right we all love to see TOP6 of each competition dominated by Korean players.
Please keep going.

What is Haypro doing in Invitational event? Should rather be succesful players invited?

I'd much rather they have a qualifier, so we could avoid any such doubts. They could give BYE's to the people listed to make it easier for them, but they should at least offer lesser known players a chance.

Some of you people are fucking unbelievable. MLG throws a sick looking tournament, but you just keep and keep whining why isn't player X in the tournament or why is this player in it, "WHAT THE FUCK MLG, WHY YOU SO STUPID?!?!?!". Just be fucking grateful for once..
Brackets looking pretty good. Naniwa vs Sase is going to be hard for both, WhiteRa vs Ret, whole Korean bracket is going to be sick straight from Round 1... wow.
Predictions: NA: KiWiKaki/Idra KR: Bomber/MVP EU: Sase/WhiteRa
I can't personally wait for this. Casters are great, and players/brackets are great enough. Good luck and good job MLG!

OK when I originally posted in this thread about what I thought of the event and who I thought perhaps shouldn't be there it was just me expressing my opinion but it's ridiculous that this thread has turned into a bash fest of the tournament and who they have selected. I guess I shouldn't expect anything more (or less? ) from TL.
Like some people have already stated, it probably shouldn't be announced as the best players from each region but rather a mix of good players with decent performances over the first year of SC2's release in conjunction with many crowd favourites. As an online tournament it is important for MLG to select players that draw large audiences when streaming online. Although Destiny is perhaps not at the level of the other NA players, he does draw a large audience.
Please everyone, be glad that we have more great upcoming content!
Edit: Why are people now talking about TLO and how he shouldn't be there? He's not even in the event.

I don't see how that tournament is sick.
Besides the Korean bracket, you have much more competitive tournaments every week online.
If you set aside the cash prize and the korean bracket (that you can have everyday with GSL), that's tournament has nothing spectatular.
Ofc, the only one thing i regret is the players invited. Generally speaking, the organization of MLG competitions is great. Please note i'm not a "fan", i'm a "customer". Since i can afford it, i usually buy a ticket to follow the HD stream. So why wouldn't i complain ?

Agreed man, well said Kaz, as I said before, MLG has only the Koreans going on for them.

arent these picked off the MLG rankings? and the people like HuK who arent there would have just declined? and as for all the incontrol hate, you name 16 NA players who are ranked higher in MLG then him?
|
Dunno why people are whining about EU lineup, given the sloppy NA lineup. I understand they want people who have been to MLG but come on, this is a serious popularity contest; Destiny/incontrol? Incontrol hasn't won a game in pool play for ages, and has Destiny even made it past 3rd round? Would be much more deserving to go to Inca or Cruncher or Select (given he didn't decline). At least Inca and Cruncher have battled their way through open brackets a couple of times, even if they aren't the best players out there...

Any random GM/top M player is better than incontrol, simple as that.

What the fuck are you talking about bro, these 'you people' are paying customers, either directly through membership or indirectly through ads. They aren't a fucking charity providing us with content cause they wanna see us smile, it is a paid service and as a result customers have a right to expect their monies worth...

that being said, i would have loved a Demuslim invite over idk, someone.

Look guys, obviously there are some questionable choices of players. I think the most obvious one would be Haypro, since he's neither very accomplished or particulary popular. I am, however, STOKED OUT OF MY MIND about the good players that actually ARE invited! I think you should be too.
Well, if you're Swedish like me, at least

Nice tournament. I think they won't get a lot of viewers for the korean one tho. But I'll watch the 2 others.

You've read and heard that they invited bunch of people, some declined or didn't want to play for some reason. If you don't like the line-up then don't fucking pay to watch it. But why you need to come here and say "WHY ISN'T PLAYER X INVITED?" "WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID MLG?" -- What if MLG asked him and he declined? Those comments are absolutely pointless.

All that being said, we are EXTREMELY happy to have such a stellar top to bottom roster in our first stab at this. I understand your point though, and you are right. If there wouldn't be such a line-up for KR bracket or EU, even i wouldn't possibly be paying to watch this.
This is better than nothing, keep that in mind.

I don't mind people who give them concrete criticism or dislike their picks, but at least put some effort in your message before posting.
