Can the OP edit this in the first post? Why Dimaga, Sthephano, and other well known players aren't on that list = THEY DECLINED THE INVITE WTF Why are u making stuff up? MLG said that select and huk declined the invite, never said anything about stephano,dimaga...

Why ALWAYS the same players in invitational tournaments !?!?!?!?!!!!
All the money is for player with no skill while you have players such as Stephano, nerchio, Mana, Kas, Strelock, Dimaga, Goody, elfi and many others who are 1000* stronger than TLO, Haypro, Jinro, Idra, tyler and are never invited at invitational tournaments.
So they do small weekly online cup for 100$ and stay in the dark. That is a pitty. -_-

"Guys we invited many people that are not on the current list" doesn't mean anything to you?

Are they trolling us or what? It is their choice to invite whoever they want, but I don't understand why they categorize this players as "top of their region", thus insulting the real best players from the region. I'm really hoping they edit their statement, so it says something like: We decided to invite 8 of the most popular guys of each region.

Yeah, it only goes to show that most tournament organisers don't follow the scene and are only influenced by the "popularity" of a player... so sad. I wish Invitationals will once be the great show they're supposed to be.

Great lineup, I would preffer Morrow instead of Haypro and hugely missing Mc and Nestea for Korea. edit MC instead of Hero and Nestea instead of Coca, and u have the best players in the world in the tournament.
|
Guys they are calling it an invitational for a reason.
With that said, I wish they would mix up the brackets a little bit. :/ The more I think about it, the more I hate the idea of online regional qualifiers. Of course they don't want any latency issues, but the way Blizzard has it, that will be unavoidable so to speak with connection issues. Regions just minimizes the casualties. Whatever, it's their tournament and this way they can at least dictate the play so that the foreigners won't be knocked out until later on in the tournament. Only thing is the finals could be as rough as watching the GSL Finals. lol. -_-

Yeah now that I read this stuff here... MLG players are kinda disappointing. If it wasnt for the Koreans I wouldnt watch any MLG
|
no mana in eu? y u stupid MLG
|
A bit sweden heavy. Almost all EU invites is as stated based on MLG performance.
Except Sase, bit wired choose, he have not won anything important. Known as high placed mass gamer in EU and now Korean ladder. Warcraft 3 pro. But not a tournament crusher.
That said, still not as I don't want to have him in there, as he is clearly the single player I keep my eye when he will crush everyone. He could take down EU bracket.
Alot of the great EU players in eastern Europe where there might be a visa risk that MLG don't want to risk. I also suspect Socke did turn down his invite. And they are not as commonly known in NA.
Eu bracket Nani and Sase play each other first round (both living in the GOM house atm), in PvP any of them could win. Feel like Ret or White-Ra will be in winners final vs Thor, Nani or Sase. Any of them can take it down i think but Korean enchanted swedes might few more tricks.
Na bracket Have Idra find his game yet?. I think we will have Idra or Sheth in winners v Kiwi. Slush has always been a high placed MLG player but seen him as tournament crusher. I'm missing Select, sad he turn down his invite.
Kr bracket Feels like the Korean is quite well balanced with one good and one popular player in every group My prediction for winner final is Loria or MMA vs MVP or Bomber. But a upset quite possible as don't follow the Korean scene enough. Coca my play better one day and Puma can make a great run. + Show Spoiler [GSL Code S final] + MVP might be too good to lose as write this during the 3-0 GSL final.
In the end will we see a four player, in single elimination. With 2 Korean(Korea wins blizzcon, fact ), one EU and one NA player as extra tournament in providence. Feels like a single elimination is short when you have BO3 and 4 player. But MLG just want them to enter the normal tournament as well.

Hmm that destiny vs Idra match has got me interested. The invites look great though! imo MLG continues to be the king of foreign starcraft tournaments!

The Players
MLG has reached out to some of the best players in the world from each of the three represented regions. Here are the full rosters:
Europe:
Naniwa Sjow Ret Haypro Thorzain White-Ra Jinro SaSe
North America:
Idra KiwiKaki Slush Sheth Tyler Major Destiny iNcontroL
I seems to me that this choices are odd, many turn down the invitation but how can u say Haypro is Top player? when he haven`t won ANYTHING. Morrow is a better choices.
Destiny and iNcontroL Top players? ROFL, in NA u have player such as, Minigun, Gatored, Select, TT1, Machine, Huk, Attero, OpTikzEro to mention a few i think they are way better than iNcontroL and Destiny.
but i assume destiny is there cuz he is popular, and iNcontroL because is a one of the few faces of E-Sports. so its not all that surprising.

Calling Thorzain Europe, Kiwikaki NA, and MVP Korea. I wouldn't include machine in that list, he isn't even grandmasters, nor is he owning it up in masters. Feels like the North American players are by far the weakest of the groups though!
it doesnt matter there are plenty of Talent players who are masters. example Minigun

The NA bracket is a disappointment :/ Kinda sad that so many players turned it down, I'm assuming, since I doubt Destiny, Incontrol and Tyler were first choices.
Still, excited to see this tournament. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise us? It'd be cool, imo.

My picks:
NA: Idra
EU: White-Ra or Ret
KR: MVP

I'm sorry but Jinro and Haypro are so overrated. What did they do the last 6 months ? Simply nothing...
They seem to be very nice guys, but they keep taking the place of much more talented players.
