If you're going to be in the SE USA you need to pay very close attention to this. Florida hasnt had a serious hurricane since hurricane charlie back in 04. I live in central florida so I don't have it as bad as you that lives in s fl.
Wilma was a major hurricane in Oct 05, but not as bad as Charlie. We've been pretty lucky the last few years, but damn did we deserve a break after 2004 and 2005.

Under what conditions would it be ok to still go to South Carolina on the 26th-28th?
Watch the news and listen to the Nation Hurricane Center. It's impossible to say exactly where it will go right now. There will likely(almost certainly) be evacuations in whatever area it makes landfall so I obviously wouldn't recommend going wherever that is.

Hope the power doesn't go out at a bad time..go jaedong

This hurricane has real potential to distrupt the actual event. Why dont you guys understand this?
|
Hope they can whether it like last time when they got flooded.

I am a little angry that everyone is saying "oh I got trolled, thought yellow was coming". This hurricane can be a serious threat to peoples lives and can potentialy ruin this event. This news needs to be taken seriously as a source of potential disaster.
Anyways, I hope that a something amazing happens and this misses the Carolinas. I want a good back to school MLG.
Sorry if I came off as an A-hole.

A category 2 hurricane is a pretty big deal. Best case scenario will mean a shit ton of rain and pretty high sustained winds and gusts of 70+ miles.

anyone know if my drive down on thursday will be affected by this at any point? im coming from toronto, canada
so far it looks like i should be able to avoid it and the bulk of the storm will hit fri-sat, but i just want to make sure so i'm not driving down in bad weather

Tropical Storm - lol Category 1 - lol Category 2 - Put some wood around some big windows if you live in a mountain of small rocks, otherwise just dick about Category 3 - Shutters up! Category 4 - Shits going down, expect something to go wrong. Category 5 - Leave town.
Category 2 is a joke.

Well, I wasn't mislead. Sounds dangerous. Wondering how this may affect crowd numbers.

This this this.I live in Florida and had a few close calls to the eye wall in the past decade. Even so, if you are outside of the wall expect a typical overcast day with rain. I remember a few years back where we played ultimate frisbee in a hurricane for the lulz.
Just fear for the stream at MLG T_T

Does anyone else feel like this MLG isn't gonna be that great?

this is bs man. I live in raleigh, and am playing in the event. My first starcraft tournament, and MLG there has to be a storm haha. but I don't think category 2 will cause serious issues. Really depends on how close to us it gets. But it shouldn't be anything but some heavy rainfall and winds. Hopefully MLG staff is preparing for the wost case anyway.

Hopefully nothing happens, hope MLG goes off without a flaw

Having been through the eye of a Cat 2 hurricane, you're probably not gonna see much beyond a few tree limbs etc being torn down and a lot of leaves and general crap / trash spread everywhere. We lost power where I was, depends how resilient the electrical system is. This is also being surrounded by the ocean, inland hurricanes get weak pretty quickly.

What was the original title just curious.

It's supposed to be Category 3 by the time it nails that area and I'd expect it to settle back down to 2, then 1 once it makes landfall.
