I can't help feeling that this change will offer less to him in terms of practise partners and potential to improve. All well, guess we will see what else is in store for this 'undisclosed training facility'

How can anyone of you say that Huk is only motivated by money, it said right in the article that he was willing to stay with liquid for significantly less. However EG made an offer no one could turn down. And this is his JOB. From what i've read he didnt sell out, and he is still close friends with the rest of team liquid. So i dont think any of you are in a position to say Huk only did this for the money. good luck to huk, my favorite player, and to both EG and teamliquid!

I think that it's pretty clear that Huk did this for the money - which I don't think is a bad thing at all. Pro Gamers don't get a particularly long career and they don't make a particularly large amount of money (especially considering the insane amount of time they spend practising).

If the amount extra that EG offered to Huk wasn't game-changing then I think we all realise that Huk would have stayed at Liquid because he's just a one in a million guy. However the offer from EG clearly WAS game changing and when comparatively crazy money gets thrown around then the player is almost silly not to take it. Huk doesn't know how long he'll be able to play at the top of his game for or how long he'll be worth so much currency, so he HAS to do this. He has to do it for himself but he also has to do this for eSports, IMO.

I am absolutely devastated that Huk is leaving Liquid (and I'm typing this with very nearly tears in my eyes having just read the announcement), but it's hard to be surprised (partially because this was leaked a little while back) or to make this an indictment of Huk's character when he's doing the only possible thing a sane person could do in his circumstances. Take the money and continue to try to be the best player that he can be.

Huk would rather stay with Liquid for personal reasons but choosing your job has got to be a business decision for his good and the good of eSports in general. EG obviously splashed the cash to get him and I think more importantly they convinced him that he'll have access to the kind of training environment that he needs and wants to be successful.

Huk, you will be missed as you are my absolute favourite player in the world and TL is the greatest team there is, but we will watch your career with as much interest as ever and the love we bare you will not be diminished as long as you continue to be you! ♥Huk Fighting!♥

EDIT: If it's not clear I'm putting across the point that Huk is NOT motivated by money, but this move obviously was. I myself favour working environment over cash flow (which is why I work where I do, in fact) but if somebody I didn't particularly want to work for offered me stupid amounts of money to work for them, OF COURSE I would do so, although human nature being what it is, probably somewhat reluctantly.

everyone saying that he will not be able to practice with the OGS guys is wrong. When your good friends with people you will still meet up with them, and Im pretty sure none of the OGS guys will shun HUK, so maybe he will still be visiting OGS, maybe EG have signed in with OGS too and TL have removed their joint sponsorship....we just dont know yet...it could all work out

I've wondered who liquid was going to let go for a while, but there you have it.

I think its a great opportunity for HuK, IdrA and Puma (P, Z, T, perfect race distribution ;D) playing together in Korea. I cant imagine how hard it must be for liquid to let HuK go, but E-sports is a business and well ... sometimes you see Ladainian Tomlinson play in a green uniform for two years ...

I wish the best of luck for Liquid, EG and all their players!

Just because he's no longer in the OGS-Liquid house, doesn't mean he suddenly can't talk to all of his old buddies from there.

Think of it this way, when you leave your job to go to another place, are you required to never talk to any of your old coworkers? I'm sure, especially since he's staying in Korea, they'll be able to have a lot of good practice sessions etc.

The picture is so funny thinking back what happened in that match they had..

But now that they have Puma, IdrA and HuK in Korea - OK, so they can train for matchups.. what about mirrors?

I can't help to think they're going to be recruiting more players from existing team.

Knew it. Great news for HuK. I'm quite sad after reading many of TL's response and I hope that they find a way to remember the good times instead of remembering potential bitterness that this may have caused.

I hope EG puts up a great fight in Korea!

Good for HuK. I hope the new opportunity works out for him. I will never begrudge somebody success. HuK is an adult and needs to make decisions based on making a living for himself. Best wishes HuK and we will miss you.
