I'm sad because Huk will lose some of the best practise partners you could ask for. I can't help but agree that this isn't going to benefit his long-term skill as much as staying in the oGs-TL house would, even though the business side of things is apparently better.
The "I now hate EG forever" stuff is completely uncalled for though, EG hasn't done anything wrong, this was Huk's decision and it is to be respected. GL to him in his new team and I can't wait to see the success of the Korean EG triumvirate of IdrA, Huk and Puma.
Glad to see the two best foreigners working together to conquer the GSL!

Where on earth is EG getting all this money to snipe players from?
No ill will towards anyone here, but I can't help but feel bad for Liquid. They really have been the backbone of foreign starcraft 2, bar none. And they just don't seem to have the sponsor support that all the other teams have to keep their players in tip-top shape.

Glad to see the two best foreigners working together to conquer the GSL! I think it's more frustration that EG seems to be buying so many players. Money is fairly hard to come by in Korea to the best of my knowledge, and it seems likely that's why EG seems to be recruiting players from there. It's not so much anger at EG as much as their management's recruiting methods.

I have to say .. it was the Liquid that made HuK who is now.. he kinda lost me as a fan

Sheth had already parted ways with FXO due to disagreements, and oGs is already very close with Liquid. Both HuK and Puma were on teams that were not as wealthy as EG.

I don't get what you are trying to say. Shouldn't teams try to get good players despite having the money to do so? Tell me one sport in the world that works differently. Some teams have more money than others, welcome to real life.

I dont see why people are thinking that they are "sniping" players. theyre not. When athletes from other sport have contracts purchased, you dont see fans disgruntled over losing a player when his contract is up to another team, just because it has more money.
In other sport scenes, it dosnt happen. And it shouldnt happen in this one either.
You guys are ruining E-Sports...

And EG bought out the rest of Huk's contract and Puma was never under a contract.
And thats not even the point. People are saying all EG is doing is buying players rather than growing their own. Liquid pretty much did the same thing with Sheth and Hero. You think Sheth didn't have other offers? And they bought Hero from oGs. They didn't raise either of these guys, both were well established progamers like Huk and Puma.

I don't know what sports you watch, but in the ones that I watch, people get VERY upset at this. How many people hate the Yankees for signing players their teams can't afford? How many Arsenal fans are mad at FC Barcelona for luring Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal?
I'm cool with teams spending the money to get big contract players as long as it's done during free agency, so I don't think EG did anything wrong here, but don't act like it doesn't happen in real sports and people don't get angry about it.

I think this is good news. As sad as I am to see HuK leave TL, it's always good news when a player I love gets the chance to make even more money. eSports careers don't last forever, and when the money is there you have to go for it.
I understand the ire directed at EG lately, but if they can keep up injecting this level of money into eSports contracts then it can only end up being a good thing for both the players and the scene in general.

Good to see IdrA back in Korea Though, at the cost of HuK...
|
You are either a fan of the team, or a fan of the player.
There are a number of David Beckham fans (mostly female) who do not care what team he is on, they just want to see him. There are a number of Manchester United fans who support the team, and no longer care for Beckham as he's not part of the team, so they can go from love to hate very quickly.
I'd say with HuK, I enjoy watching him play, and don't really care what team he is on. I haven't developed a loyal supporting for a starcraft team yet, I just have a list of players I enjoy watching.

I think the more exciting thing is that IdrA is returning to Korea! :D

Not sure why HuK would want to join puma(cant speak a lot of English but is a fantastic terran) and Idra(who will whine all the time about balance) instea dof having the entire ogs house with better Terrans then puma and a LOT better Zerg players then Idra. Wish they do well but HuK is wanting to become the best has taken a step back here. All about the money.
Im still going to support HuK but a bitter taste has been left in my mouth. A step back in development even if its a step forward in increase of income.

To get this correct...
All this hype for something Liquid allready had since basically Day 1 of it's existance + EG throwing so much money at a player that he would be a total retard to refuse?

The funny part here is that Idra will have to fight to be considered number 3 in the EG :D
Kudos to HuK & TL.

Ehh cool. To be honest eg keeps getting players that don't actually win anything afterwards. I have to say huk might not be as good as he was in the ogs-tl house because he will lose top notch practice partners. And only 3 people to korea seems odd, i think eg might pick up some more players.

Still a Huk fan, glad I didnt follow the pre-hype stuff beyond glancing at the initial post though. Grats to EG for signing a top notch player and shipping off some talent to korea (or reshipping as the case may be) to start up their own house. Not sure why everyone is upset but I dont have much of an opinion on that. These aren't teams in the sense that I think of them (grew up watching the broncos, will die a broncos fan) but someday they may be, just not there yet in my personal perspective.
