Hey, now that Idra's back in Korea, does that mean the return of Imbalanced!? :o

I don't know why people keep making the argument that he'll still have the same practice partners once he moves out of the oGs-TL house, thus his skill won't decline. It's not the same at all.

It's well documented that HuK has been performing much higher because he left the TL room and started sitting right next to the oGs Protosses, namely MC. This contributed to his wins in Dreamhack and HSC3.

Having an online practice partner is not the same as having him sit right next to you in person, discussing strategy, and going over replays 14 hours a day.

I think this is awesome for EG, HuK, IdrA and NA e-sports. I am personally very excited to see IdrA back in Korea and HuK and his new team. I also think that the whole mystery announcement was very well designed and props to whoever thought of it. Some may say that it was overkill, but it got all of us talking, and that was it's intention.

Go HuK<3
Booo EG

You know, I keep seeing people say this.. `` they should be raising their own players, all they do is poach blah blah blah

And then you see people saying shit like.. ``NA has the worst players, they suck, NA players will never compete with Korean players blah blah blah, EU isn`t much better, just a little bit``

Where are these homegrown players gonna come from if we have such little choice. Anyone that is worth signing already has been. And my god, if EG signed some unkown Korean player everyone would come here to shit on them, because they went for the higher Korean talent instead of the lower american

Also didnt Huk join Liquid AFTER he won an MLG so he was already a solid player then.

Every time I watch those few seconds of HuK winning Dreamhack and being tossed in the air by Tyler, MC and the others, and think about this move I get really really sad. Money's good, but sports are about the moments.

I wonder, if it was white-ra that was signed instead, does anyone think EG would be taking so much heat? Or would it be considered a good thing?

Huk was worst case scenario. Maybe MC or MVP/nestea would have been shocking too

EG came to us when the agreement was 99% complete. The only knowledge we had of it was through Huk himself. Important difference.

http://twitter.com/#!/Kennigit

From Jinro's stream chat earlier today:

Mod Liquidnazgul: thechanyman to clarify all that happened is huk asked me if he could talk to teams and i said yes go ahead

Like I said before, Alex says whatever he wants to say because no one in the past has called him out on it.

If Huk is allowed to go talk to teams then what else would they be talking about then an agreement. Its not like hes going to engage plesentries with them and thats all the communication means.

Does anyone feel like EG is becoming the EA of E-Sports? I feel like all I've seen lately are announcements of EG acquiring really skilled players. It seems like their budget must be limitless.

I'm not trying to cast this in a negative light but it is a concerning parallel considering what happened to EA (their publishing division pretty much collapsed from over-expansion and they had to pull back drastically).

Either way, I know HuK is going to do great no matter where he is. Let's try and not make this a Liquid' vs EG thread, but rather a support HuK thread!

You mean Yankees or Red Sox?

EA is not a sports team. They make Sports video games tho.

Hahaha that picture is awesome, very very clever.

Not sure if any others have noticed it.

I think that HuK was by far Liquid's best player, so this is a very big loss for them. However, Idra is still one of the best foreigners so combining these two as training partners could bring beastly results.

I hope you're not serious. They kept things quiet until they were official, then came out with a great press release that creates hype for their players and improves their brand. There is no open way to attempt to recruit players because rarely do all the parties involved want that information to be disclosed. This is a great press release and EG has all the right in the world to brag, because they want everyone to know they have just signed a top tier player.

Congrats EG and Huk, I hope the relationship has much success for both. Also well played by Liquid for keeping it classy as always and being the pioneers of foreign Starcraft 2 in Korea.

I think the question, what about them, is incredibly accurate and answers itself.

On topic, I don't see how HuK will foster and develop his talent living in a house with just Idra and Puma. That is far too few practice partners. I guess the korean ladder will have to suffice. This arrangement however will surely improve Idra's game and I'd imagine it would help lonely Puma from having no partners.
