In all honesty, this excites me a little. It should motivate foreign players to work a little harder (because winning is more attainable) and it will serve as a chance to showcase some of the top foreigner talent that we don't know as much about. Obviously very sad that we'll have no Koreans, and will lose some quality, but its not all bad news. Really MrBitter? (if its really you) I expected better of you, I guess all the EU players are now North Americans... and we will have a few Koreans, Rain, Puma, Hero so don't say there wont be any.

NASL are making themselves look innocent. good job trusting a freshly made 1 post account and I just got trolled because I'm quoting a freshly made account agreeing with another freshly made account...

This is very misleading First of all, Korean players havent gotten their deposit back from the first season yet!! and NASL doubled their deposit.... Korean players feel that NASL used them to just make more money. As a "Professional gamer" they feel like they are being disrespected by NASL since NO OTHER TOURNAMENT ASK FOR DEPOSITS (and they still HAVENT GOTTEN THE MONEY BACK!!) ON TOP OF THAT NASL STILL HASNT PAID THE PLAYERS THEIR PRIZE MONEY.... which is A FUCKING JOKE You have to consider the fact NASL says it will pay the security deposits within the time stated in the contract, NASL is still within the 60 day limit to pay it back. If they fail to pay the deposits however things will definitely change and I will stop supporting NASL.

The gap is visibly so high atm that it's become hardly interesting to even watch foreigners play (I'm not counting the very best ones that can still compete with koreans, but those you can count on one hand).

NASL encroaches upon viewership and expendable income viewers dedicate towards them (them being the GSL-MLG partnership), and gives a real possibility of stealing players away from the GSL if NASL continues to have more success. 1) Let the Korean players knock out a ton of foreigners (NA and EU) and qualify. 2) Let NASL hype it up and begin the Korean hype train 3) Make ridiculous demands like unlimited travel expenses a requirement and no security deposits 4) Leave NASL high and dry leaving a huge vaccuum of players no longer there anymore, and to add to it a vaccuum of a ton of foreign players that could've qualified. 5) Subscribers get angry at NASL and do not purchase season passes 6) NASL dies slowly as SC2Con continues to pressure Korean teams to not participate. It's just cold hard business, and the Korean players nor the Korean team managers IMO should not be to blame, there's bigger forces at hand behind it. This is pretty important to note. In the end, it's just business. For everyone chalking the Puma thing to being just business...well, here we go again. On August 12 2011 15:05 anrimayu wrote: I think Puma has something to say about that. Oh and for anyone who's wants to see underdogs/hidden talents rather than the big names: NASL's invitation only format in season 1 prevented exactly that anyway. There's many more Koreans who fit the criteria to be the next Puma, having skills but lack of stage experience keeping them from GSL spotlights and whatnot. This. We have just seen mediocre Koreans trounce some of the best the foreign scene has to offer. There are many more of them languishing in Code A and B waiting for a chance to break through in the meat grinder that is GSL. If people want to see underdogs and hidden talents, it makes much more sense to look there. Mr. Chae: "Ah Yes, Korean Players.. exposing Korean players to more of the world .. the simple and best way is participating in all foreign tournaments.." + Show Spoiler + They do participate in just about every major foreign tournament now. NASL being what amounts to a full time league with the time commitment, I'm willing to give them an exception given the crap they had to deal with in season 1. On August 12 2011 15:08 Zenic wrote: I do understand this decision, playing in the middle of the night, with lag and travel around the world to play maybe only one bo3 on their own costs isn’t that great. The NASL 1 finals had nine Koreans, looking at the Qualifiers there would be even more in the NASL 2 finals. This means the chance of getting a KvK in the Ro16 is quite high and every Korean (respectively their team) who gets eliminated in the Ro16 will make a deficit. This is also true. Can you imagine if something like 14/16 finalists were Korean? koreans : we dont want your prize money, we want travel stipend!! seriously?????????? i think SC2con are scheming something, i think they are setting a example for the other tournaments.this is bad for small tournaments or future new tournaments. this need to stop funny they didnt include MLG with their crappy prize pool. GSL+MLG partnership lol? is GSL and MLG is part of this bullshit i hope not. glad that slayers is not part of this shit. its like what Kespa did to GOM in BW, SC2CON(or kespa 2.0) is gonna kill NASL. its like their trying to sell talents

There is definitely a gap between foreigners and Koreans, but top guys are still quite good. I'm not saying its good that the Koreans can't come. It's obviously not good when the champ can't show up for the title fight, but I don't think its the end of the world either. I had an incredible time casting the Blizzcon EU Invitational which consisted 100% of top EU players. The games were all very close and the outcomes very exciting. I enjoyed watching it. And I also felt like the fans related more with the games because they were all European too. Its fun to cheer for your hometown hero. So while it is definitely a bummer that the very best players in the world can't attend, I do think that we will still get some very exciting games, and I love that we will be seeing foreigner vs foreigner the whole way through... If nothing else, it let's us conclusively answer the question of "who is the best non-Korean".

Use google translate if its in Korean. Puma still hasn't been paid the 50k Grand Prize that the NASL promised. 2k isn't nearly enough to cover back to back flights from Korea to San Diego. The deposits that the Koreans made hasn't even been returned yet. Sounds like American Banksters to me.
