I like moletrap, he may not be a QXC stellar caster with pro insights and the like, but thats exactly why I like him.

He , like Tastosis, understand what it means to chill out. Most other casters are quite highly strung and it comes across with the way they communicate on many levels.

+1 for moletrap.

I wish I could pinpoint what it is about him that I don't like, but I agree he's just not a caster I enjoy. Seems like a nice guy though, maybe it's his voice? I watched a ton of Code A last night and just found myself much more interested in what Wolf had to say.

I've thought about it myself and I think the reason why I personally don't like him is because of how harsh he is to the code A players. He acts like its the end of the world when a guy messes up on hellion micro, when obviously theres several things they're multitasking on. He's gold / platinumish level giving criticism where it dont really it's necessary. Especially when code A has many of the best players in the world...

Wolf used to do it too but I think he realized he was being a little bit too pessimistic in his attitude saying players were indecisive. Wolf's improved a lot and dealt with his faults.

I think one reason why Artosis and Tasteless are so great is that while they're making it an enjoyable experience they can really explain when one of the players is doing something really cool and stylistic.

I think given time Moletrap can learn too;.

Wolf is just as harsh on mistakes as Moletrap is, even now. Tastosis have also always been brutally honest about certain players they don't like or bad plays.

True, I guess it's just the way they go about it that makes it more enjoyable to listen to, atleast for me =). You'll hear Wolf or Tastosis be harsh about certain things they feel are important, Moletrap is just really constant of letting player mistakes be known..

Except Moletrap unlinke Tastless is not funny, clever or insightful. He hogs the mic regardless of casting with DoA/Wolf, which I wouldn't mind if he actually had anything worthwhile to say.

SOme mentioned on the gomtv forum that Wolf (despite him saying that he is a pretty good player) is just a platinium player. Is that correct?

From the videos with Artosis I believe that is true. Nevertheless, he is Korean platinum, not just regular platinum.

Korean platinum is freaking horribad just like every other platinum league. I actually play on the Korean server, unlike those that claim a "plat kor = masters NA" equivalency without any experience.

Mid masters on korea = very high masters on NA/SEA.
Top ~15% of masters on korea = high GM (top 15 or so) on SEA, top 100 on NA.

This is my experience.

Platinum on Korea = pure badness.

Is there any evidence that he's platinum? This would really surprise me, considering that he claims to have played BW, and most people of that background have played sc2 since beta and people that've been playing for more than 1 year are at least Korean masters (unless they're doing something really really wrong).

Also I feel myself agreeing with all the things he says in ZvX, which is a very rare thing for me to do when listening to a caster who is not a pro and especially one who doesn't main Z. Only other person I get this with is Artosis (even though he's lost his ability to talk about uber-specifics since race switching)

Moletrap is good, but perhaps his TV personality isn't the best. I think their in game commentary is fine, but their banter isn't too crash hot, and it's not interesting to me.

If you look closely to those videos you`ll see he is in Master`s

Also Artosis says several times he is playing top master`s players throughout the video

This is what I can't stand. Artosis and Tasteless can both be the B guy. DOA and Wolf can both be the B guy. Moletrap has Wheatitis and believes he needs to steer everything and occasionally throw it to his supporting cast member. There was a moment the other day where Wolf was trying desperately to get a word in and Moletrap just ran over him with this 'if I just keep going Wolf's going to realize that I'm still talking' thing.

I think he'd be fine if he just changed his approach, at least experimentally, and deferred for an entire cast.

I think that it's a weird choice by Gom to get Moletrap back. The general spectator feedback has always been "I don't like Moletrap". Just look at the comments on the GomTV VOD pages and you will see all the hate that many spectators have towards him.

Personally I really prefer to get a Lone Wolf than the Wolftrap duo.

Yeah that's definitely the main problem, he really needs to watch Tasteless and Artosis...it happens that they talk over each other, but the main thing is both allow the other to speak almost like taking turns or something. Both recognize that the other is trying to say something and allow it...Moletrap just goes on rambling and Wolf/Doa just sit there passively. I feel like the caster duo should more or less be having a conversation with each other on the topic at hand (the game) not a monologue because one caster doesn't shut up.

I haven't really ever bashed a caster (not saying this is a bash post), but I agree with the Moletrap situation. He sometimes hogs the mic at inappropriate times, carries on with dumb jokes that even make Wolf feel weird, and it just seems like he kind of mumbles certain stuff lately. I have never really thought his voice was pleasant to hear too, but it is definitely not pleasant to hear a caster who is trying to figure out what to say so just jumbles/mumbles certain things to fill time (then says "anyways.." and proceeds to other topic)...or who has so much to say that he won't even let the other caster talk (maybe he doesn't think he will remember?).

Anyways I hope you keep working on it Moletrap, it is not meant to bring you down!

Personally I love moletraps' casting , I think he knows his stuff when it comes to sc2, and his random banter also makes the gsl very funny and interesting to watch

I think, Moletrap could improve his casting. As I watched him casting with Wolf, he missed a lot of what happened in the game and he cut in Wolf's talk very often.

He is good at bringing the energy to the cast, but it's a caster team and when he misses some of the action in the game, he should let the other guy leave enough room to analyze and comment the game, too.
