I bolded that parts that contradicted themselves. Being on a pro team doesn't make you a professional, it usually does. You made Eve the exception to this rule. You even state her that she is an amateur but you signed her anyways.
You do realise the term professional refers to someone who devotes most of their time and effort into something (in this case, staying in the Slayers house and following their training regimen) rather than their actual skill at whatever it is they are doing? For example, you can be a professional carpenter (that is, a carpenter by profession, but still be among the least skilled carpenters out there simply because you have less experience).
In summary, one can be an amateur at SC2 by skill (remember that skill levels are relative), but still take it as their profession. In fact, this situation is common among new pro-gamers.
Okay so some of you guys are talking about a female coming into gaming and "earning" her position and saying its not possible. However, just look to SC1.
Tossgirl was able to do this. Back in 2001 or 2002, before the courage tournament there were other ways to get a pro gaming license. She earned hers by getting to the round of 8 of a televised tournament twice (i forget the tournament name). So it is possible to happen this way. She did end up winning some well fought matches throughout the years against male players.
So this is the kind of thing I want to see from a new female player. To come up into the game like this.

Except this is totally wrong and not recommended by anyone in pro-gaming. Getting to at least some level of skill before going pro seems like basic logic, and precedent shows that a great deal (hell maybe even a majority) of successful pro-gamers either had incredible untapped skill or a fair amount of time climbing the skill ladder before entering the professional sphere. Whether or not Eve falls into one of those two categories has yet to be seen, but best of luck to her.
Respect for Jessica to come here and post a very coherant explanation of how she feels about this matter.
What some from the foreign community have said and how they have acted towards EvE has been nothing short of despicable. The photo-shopping incident shows just how disgusting some of these people can be. Some people have no shame.
Jessica is trying to cultivate something new in E-Sports. It is sad so many people are writing her and EvE off before they even get started simply because they are female.
If you don't want to be a supporter of Jessica and EvE, then don't be. I have nothing but disgust for the degenerates of the internet who took their hatred of EvE one step further to create those images..
Some people have a pinecone up their ass and just want to piss off as many people as possible. People should stop screwing with things that have nothing to do with themselves. If the SlayerS team wants to recruit another female player, they have the right to do so.
What those people did was wrong, but we should just ignore them and not give them recognition that they achieved their goals of making us angry.
I guess there are a lot of people jealous of SlayerS_EvE out there, being a female and roflstomping thru the ladder must be quite insulting for some people apparently...

Don't forget that on the KR ladder, low diamond is mid+ masters on eu/us
First thank you to Slayers_Jessica for explaining everything to us. It really shows how far Starcraft has come, now Korean pros are aware of foreign fans and care enough about what we think to write something like this.
But don't worry too much, this whole controversy hasn't affected anything, plenty of us still love Boxer and Slayers and I'm sure you'll see that at MLG Anaheim. Boxer, Ganzi, Alicia Fighting at MLG!
I think what alot of people are failing to grasp here is the precedent that is set in South Korea where extremely famous pop culture icons actually do KILL THEMSELVES over the kind of defamation that Eve is receiving.
Jessica is just doing everything that she can to protect Eve's dignity, reputation and possibly even her life.
The SlayerS team is run by BoxeR and Jessica and it is their right to invite whoever they want for whatever reason they want. Be it gaming skill, beauty, publicity, ANYTHING. If they want to hire someone as part of their team they have every right to.
I really, seriously hope that Eve improves so dramatically, according to the potential BoxeR sees in her, and she comes out swinging at the GSTL or even Code A qualifiers. I hope she kicks some serious ass out there, but even if she doesn't, I'm very happy for her that she was the right person, at the right time, to receive an official spot on the SlayerS team which is something we all dream about.

i would have to say on another note that the amount of messages that went into the other thread--simply about growing thicker skin about the matter--really set an unnecessary tone for a while because personally for me, if i had to grow any more indifference, resistance, or to be more enduring, i would cease to have many meaningful feelings at all
i just wanted to get that off my chest because i saw several posters go on about things,,, without looking or trying to understand further evidence and slayers_jessica's situation
