It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the TLPD is updated. Puma is already listed as a member of EG and not TSL anymore.

From Milkis's twitter:
Why would TSL use the word "release" if Puma wasn't under a contract?

I really don't see what everyone is complaining about...
EG offered a better deal than what TSL could provide and Puma made the smart economic decision.
All this stuff about loyalty is really stupid. Maybe if TSL was loyal to Puma he wouldn't have to leave them for a better offer?

Wow. First FXO and now this. Western teams picking up Koreans instead of adding on more Westerners. Sure its not like EG and FXO are replacing Westerners with Koreans, but you gotta consider the opportunity cost. That kind of money doesn't grow on trees, someone is going to lose out on the budgeting.

And it will probably be cut from Western traveling expenses and recruitment.

The problem, I think, with foreign teams just "buying" Korean players like that is that if/when that player tears it up at an event, it's gonna feel kind of silly giving credit to the team. Sure, money is what buys a player, but everyone's going to remember the nurture that the player's previous team gave him so he could get as good as he is.

people are saying Puma just let the coach know that he is leaving for EG and just packed his things and left on the 20th without any discussion of this matter.

also, it seems like there was no written contract signed with TSL.

with that, of course the coach had no choice but to announce his release.

this was from just a forum so take it for what it is.

That is CRAZY. So he just packed his things and left, wow...

The only thing that could top that would be Idra showing up and helping move stuff out.

if this is true then there is nothing wrong with anything that has happened.

Even if there's no contract, there is still the ethical side to things. It would've been better if EG approached TSL and had a discussion. If they did this, they would've most likely have got Puma because I'm sure EG can offer better terms. But it'll at least give TSL a chance to respond. From what happened, Puma just walked out on them like this.

if puma did not have any contract with TSL there is absolutely nothing wrong with it

he was contracted, and the way Korean teams operate is more family-ish/close than the business-style organization of western teams.

I am pretty sure only the very top players such as MVP, Nestea, MC etc who have already won a championship have a contract with their team. I highly doubt a team can contract every players in their team. Anyways Puma is a sellout and I don't expect him to ever beat players such as MC again if he leaves korea to practice in the team EG house. Such a shame.

Why is the TSL Manager so disappointed? Its his fault, he made no strict contract with the player, forbidding him to change the team this easily ...

That actually makes a lot of sense. People assuming that this was a "steal" or "easy maneuver" need a little more experience in business (not meant to be condescending).

Doesn't make sense for Puma to leave TSL unless there were already issues with the team. FD, trickster and rain leaving COULD be indicative of internal problems. If Puma really didnt have a binding/written contract with TSL, then thats even more hliarious. If TSL was really developing Puma and keeping him happy this would have never happened.

To me, this looks terrible for TSL's management and the way they run their team.

After reading that TSL had no written contract with Puma... I can't be angry about this at all. What a joke to think that Korean managers can keep the best talent in the world with nothing but "honor". Pay him the going rate, or he will leave your team. Maybe there was something behind the scenes where Puma was basically feeling this same way.

Koreans are very pick about respect though. (First hand experience).

Still, what's done is done.

Yeah i understand the stuff about respect

But the people here are acting like EG went and killed someone.

How do you ask for a contract release when there is no contract? Why did you conveniently skip over that part of the PlayXP reporting?

I was just saying the other day that EG needed somemore terran power. With puma as a training partner, IdrA will be the best player in the world.
