Now I won't be able to get it out of my head. Sorry Coach Lee ;; Ya pretty much this. I don't see how making an offer to a player "behind managements back" and then letting them discuss it with their management is a bad thing. Seems perfectly acceptable. It sucks for TSL but their team seems to be on the decline and there must be some other factors going on behind the scene causing players to leave.

They did not break ANY RULES whatsoever, in the law, in ethics, none. They had talks with the player and Puma obviously has faith in EG, so he accepted. No one forced him and I'm sure he received many other deals as well. Stop pretending EG is some evil corporation, I don't understand the hate. This is hyper-competitive, teams had better take care of their players to keep them. Just like any other form of business.

He was probably paid shit if he accepted this deal with EG, c'mon guys, I'm sure he's happier than ever now. I wish Puma the best of luck, people are pissed though because it obviously feels like EG just threw a huge amount of cash (that a much smaller homegrown team like TSL does not have) to make an offer a player couldn't refuse. http://i.imgur.com/FlGPh.png

Why not try something which is actually related to the subject matter, Such as professional football (or soccer in the US)? If an opposing team contacts one of your players directly about a transfer instead of going through official channels they can get severely fucked for it, and I presume it's the same for the majority of major team based sports. Yes there is no governing body, but just because you can't be punished for something doesn't make it the right thing to do. Sure maybe it was unethical and wrong for EG to do this, but as has already been said: there is no governing body to dictate the rules of player signings and negotiations. Companies play by the rules and in this case there are none so it was completely within their right to do this clandestine negotiation. Plus, if Puma felt like TSL was the place he should be he never would have left in the first place. Obviously, he felt that team was going in the wrong direction and felt it was the right career decision to accept EG's proposal.

I wonder how much longer TSL will survive with Rain, Puma, and even two of the founding members (Fruitdealer, Trickster) leaving. If TSL is a sinking ship, I could definitely see how a regular salary + awesome chance to go overseas for tournaments would be quite appealing, and only the most loyal of players would stay.

Lmao I'm open to hearing why EG should converse with TSL management.. but amongst the thousand or so posts condemning EG the only reason I've heard is that it's respectful and it saves their feelings from getting hurt.

Sure I would say that most teams will not stop sending players, but I would guess there will be far more chaperoning and a lot less contact. I just think its an absurd conclusion. People see half a story where one Korean team is at odds with one foreigner team and immediately bandwagon and think it's KILLING ESPORTS OH GOD and that for some reason Korean teams won't be interesting in expanding into foreigner markets? Just look at what is really happening in the larger picture. We have MLG/GSL working together to bring Korean players to MLG and foreigner players to GSL. We have player sponsorships for guys like Nada and MC just to come play in foreign tournaments. We have Koreans showing up in larger and larger numbers to each major foreign tournament. Opposite that we have a single bad reaction to a player signing from his former manager and a lot of bandwagon comments.
