ESPORTS ethics =/
This. And I was the HUGEST coL CS fan too, that team had some heart. I'm very glad that they changed there minds and decided to come into SC2.
Anyways, to the point, I will probably never support EG, ever. To me, they just seem like a cash cow with little merit to bargain with other than it's business exploits... It's hard to think of them as any sort of a real "team". I just hope a player I like (for my own selfish reasons) never gets picked up by them.
EDIT: This will give some people a little bit of an Idea of what I mean by a "Team" + Show Spoiler +

ooow sound like EG did the good old american style...sneaking directly into the booth, opening the big case fills with bills and let the magic begin...

Well guys EG are Evil Geniuses so what would you expect?

Well this is highly unexpected.

The only part I can seriously see you guys finding bad is that EG approached Puma directly, and they didn't approach his coach instead. That's the only part. Every other step in this series of events was based off of what Puma wanted. Are you really going to criticize EG for something that Puma wanted to do?
That's like criticizing EG for Tyler wanting to sign with them (lulz). What fault is it of EG's? Puma (or Tyler) could have said no. In fact, if Puma had this foolhardy sense of "respect" and "honor" that you guys are trying to apply to EG, he would have laughed at EG and stayed with TSL.
Once again, the SC2 community that is apparently so "good" and "friendly" and "totally not in every stream chat shitting on people for no reason" is totally being "judgmental" and "rushing to shit on people with knowing or understanding the facts" and "shitting themselves because a Korean might just be able to play at more foreigner events."
Please. You guys repeatedly cry foul of things killing ESPORTS, (seriously so, not joking around, I'm sure), yet you guys are doing it right here. Every maker of Warp Prism that you burn to the ground before hearing his side of it (and only taking the word of some retarded Reddittor who managed a "who is" search but no other real research as gospel) and every 130+ page thread that we blow up without, you know, hearing how Puma thinks of the situation is what is showing the community for what it really is.
But, you know. This is all good as long as we get to shit on Puma, who obviously can't think in his best interests without him being a traitor to TSL, and EG, because they're the big bad corporation that broke of State of the Game.
Come on guys. Get serious.
Indeed! If the Player Puma likes a new Team and he likes EG, why shouldn't he do so? And oh my god. There's money involved. WTF. He wants money lol, that's all it is. Do you REALLY think he wants to go to EG because of the practice partners lmao? He has way better players to play with on his team and from other teams. He wants to make "easy money" by going to foreign tournaments, just like all the other koreans. What's so wrong about Puma wanting money? There's nothing wrong with it, but obviously he doesn't care as much about getting better than he does about money.
ya man cause he doesnt have to think about his future or anything. im sorry but shit in the world costs money and its not like he can be a progamer forever, he needs to earn more money so he can be set later on in life. its great that he can get by day to day by living in the team house, but then what's he gonna do when his career ultimately comes to an end? is the team gonna still take care of him? doubtful.

Glad for EG to get a player like PuMa, he really shined at NASL, and I hope he will be able to take more tournaments, while flying under the EG.PuMa banner.

OH my GOD
FXO buying fOu EG buying Puma...
YOu smell something coming up .... ?
HELL YEAH !...its getting INTERNATIONAL...
and i LOVE it

and TSL doesn't even benefit they get no cash for their player its a shame...
|
People who complain everytime a player switches teams or goes after more money/oppurtunity are hurting esports. i wouldnt even call them true fans of starcraft as a professional game. if esports is gonna be taken seriously, this kind of stuff can and will happen, a lot more than it is now even.
|
Sounds like a pretty shady deal to me, good luck to Puma though. And good luck to TSL, hopefully they can figure out how to keep their players under contract from now on.
|
... you people make it sound like Puma was a nobody before TSL found him, trained him, and made him into what he was.
That's just ... wrong.
|
OMG, not that i should be surpised that a korean is joining a foreign team But PuMa!? I was expecting PuMa to ride his NASL win all through the GSTL but this is okay too....I guess
|
Puma had a contract to TSL although I don't know about salaries. TSL was actually the first to give their players salaries in the teams that participate in GSL. So....how did Puma win NASL?? Practice with players in his own team + support from his team.
The thing is that it wasn't 'wrong' for Puma to decide to accept EG's offer it was WRONG for him NOT to talk to anyone in his team (esp the coach) about it. If he did, TSL might have given him an offer that would take Puma some time to think about. It was rude for Puma to just declare 'Im leaving the team, bye bye'.
Which ever way u look at it, EG is going to look bad. If EG had contacted the TSL staff or Puma had talked to his coach earlier on and then finalized a move to EG, it wouldn't have caused such issue as is now.
|
I understand why the manager of TSL is not happy, but the bottom line is that players will move to the team that treats them the best. If EG is willing to offer salary and benefits that Korean teams are not, Puma's move can only be a good thing for all players in the long run. It will force all teams to be competitive and treat their players fairly. I'm glad Puma had the guts to make the move.

He just wanted to see if there was a source that relates to the contract. I too would like to see that- but yeah, it seems like the coach just cut the cord with him and let him go. I see the word released, which leads me to believe that he did have a contract- but then again, I want something concrete.

most of EG might not be looking good like incontrol/lzgamer, but to ignore Idra constantly placing high in tournaments is weird. The only thing I am wondering is if demuslim is still doing good?

And skin ointment. There probably was a few bottles of Proactiv in the case as well.

Looking forward to hearing the other side of the story here. If it doesn't come out, EG will be tarred.
Considering how much Scoots/EG has lied to the community in the past ("EG has nothing to do with Inc leaving SotG" and then the screenshot popped up) I personally doubt he has anything trustworthy to say. I'd like to see a statement from Puma though.
