Make a fair/good with your players ---> Profit. Don't make a fair/good contract with your players ---> Lose players. Seriously, if Puma can just switch Teams like that, there either was no contract at all or one that allowed him to switch whenever he wants for no/little cost. Blame the Manager, no one else.

I understand it from Puma's pov, he wants to make money after all, but what kind of support can EG actually offer the guy? If Puma stays in Korea, he loses the entire infrastructure in terms of practise that TSL offered him. If he moves to the US, he joins a scene where he is by far the best player in the team and quite probably on the entire server. Short term: Puma gets more money. Long term: He falls behind the rest of the korean scene.

The player stays because of loyalty in a team which seems to not fully respects his skill or at least doesn't pay him accordingly. 2. EG asks TSL first. Why should they? What would be the advantage? TSL would probably reject the offer or at least claim a significant transfer fee which would be only necessary if there was an existing contract. 3. The manager of TSL could have instantly made a countering offer to puma if he was especially interested in him. He obviously didn't. So what is TSL's point? I understand that they are angry to lose a good player but this is completely their fault and it has nothing to do with an immoral behavior by EG. The strange thing is that I read a news in which TSL claimed to be the first team to pay a regular salary to players. Maybe they've run out of money. Agreed, on more then one LiveonThree SirScoots talked about how players where acquired. There are players that are in binding contracts that get "stolen", even though i dont like that word, by other teams and thats a little shady but happens in the Tech industry a lot, look at Google/Facebook. But in this case it was a player that basically had no contract sorta like a "free agent" and HE can do what ever the hell he wants. If Puma got a great offer from EG and wanted to continue on with his career up, FUCK THATS GREAT! He'll be making more money, traveling to more foreign events an probably playing better in the end having less stress on his plate. Good for Puma. Good for EG. Good for Esports ![]()

The strange thing is that I read a news in which TSL claimed to be the first team to pay a regular salary to players. Maybe they've run out of money. It's the fact that TSL invested into Puma. They recruited him, trained him, and then he was taken away from them without any forward notice. You can state the technicalities or state there were no laws or anything of the sort broken - but Korea has been the mecca of E-Sports and the norm was for people to go through management in terms of player relations. To the Koreans, it's just like the Americans went up to Puma with an enticing offer and bought out their own nurtured talent. If Puma stayed on TSL I wouldn't be surprised if he received a salary in the relative future (this is just a guess, but who can disagree after we've seen his skills?). More attractive conditions is rather debatable. He's not going to have as good practice but he's going to have more chances to compete. Would someone rather continue to become better as a player versus make the easy fast money? No one can really say. I'm assuming TSL didn't make a counter-offer because when Puma came back, he already agreed to go to EG. All in all, it's a great acquisition for EG (and a sad loss for TSL) but by essentially buying out a player who was affiliated with a team already the foreigner//Korea relationship isn't going to improve. Hopefully EG can release a statement clarifying some things.

My thoughts exactly. There is no written rule between teams. The only organization that does this is KeSPA. Until that day comes teams will continue to fire under the gun. Regardless of what you think.

An incredibly short-sighted decision, but it is his decision nonetheless.

"All is fair in love and war" but these are still the underhanded dealings the G7 tried to do away with. Then again, we saw with fnatic-SK that the G7 is completely useless and impotent. Still, it doesn't sit right that they talked to another team's player without their consent (which is required in most professional sports) while he was at a foreign event and thousands of miles away from his team/manager. Then again, EG might've just pissed on their own leg. We know from KeSPA that the Korean team organizations are not toothless like the G7 is. If they want to shut the door on EG, they probably could.

Or not. I really don't get the mentality behind the stealing part, but of course it's probably different in Korea. I don't see how it's different from switching jobs from the company you used to work at and got a lot of experience from, but maybe that is frowned upon in Korea as well. Good for EG anyway, but TSL seems to be in trouble.

Congratz to EG though, it's a great pickup for them and I'm sure if puma decides to move to the states into the team house it will be great for all players involved.
