Is Puma going to move into the EG team house? If so, I think the level of play of everyone living there would jump 10 fold.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

These teams need to be very careful of what the fans actually think, its ultimately they who are the source of their income. If they cannot relate to the team anymore, or start to dislike it for whatever reason its a big loss for the teams.

DeMuslim is a EG Terran

You're of course right! I forgot about him due to his injury. Still!, 3 Zergs, 2 protoss and 1 terran. I doubt they would have got for another zerg regardless ^^

The Foreign teams are actually offering more money to good players so they can get stronger. Awesome move but a little bit unprofessional going directly to PUMA himself rather than his Manager.
TSL is falling apart, sad but i guess it happens. Goodluck to PUMA!!!!

You mean to stop players from joining tournaments or teams that would ostensibly offer them more compensation and/or earnings? See: Gom BW tournaments, etc.

yes Kespa did abuse their power. but they did setup a good infrastructure for the scene. i just hope SC2 organization can do the same.

Note that the prevailing SC2 organization currently tells teams to not let their players stream. Do you know why you see a few SlayerS players stream? Because SlayerS is not a member of that SC2 governing organization.

A couple years back there was this publicized meeting between Boxer and Savior where one of the topics in the conversation was about improving conditions for progamers. The whole thing leaves an incredibly bitter taste when you look back on it now in light of the match fixing scandals, but you can trace back Boxer's different approach with his team to quite some time back.

don't count out demuslim, he's an awesome terran
perhaps not as awesome since his injury, but i'm sure he'll make it back to the top of the foreign scene

So I go over to twitter to see what 'Sir Scoots' has been saying about this. Latest tweet? Replying to someone saying "umadbro?". Slow clap for EG.

i hoped alot of good from TSL but now they lost 3 of their key players.
it can be really intresting to see how TSL compare this HUGE loss of 3 importent players in the next GSTL matches.

perhaps we see some new "rising stars"

ps: will puma stay in korea all time or will he move to the USA EG house anytime soon ?

Until Scoots drops some knowledge on what went down, there is too much speculation here. Guys gotta chill, let the dust settle.

Looking forward to hearing the other side of the story here. If it doesn't come out, EG will be tarred.

That's sick, grats to EG and Puma, lets see how it'll turn out for TSL...

When they lost 3 big names last weeks I was like: "Well, at least they still have puma..." Now what? : \

Seeing what the guy said to him,, it's understandable..
We promise with a view to hope, but the reason to "accomplish" what we promised would be fear.

The coach isn't condemning PuMa for leaving TSL. He is upset over HOW PuMa left TSL.

Please shut up about this whole "SC2 is global, not Korean" spiel. This has nothing to do with possessiveness, but a matter of ethical conduct.

Keep in mind that all the information we've gotten so far has been a translation of a short article on PlayXP where they only apparently interviewed the manager of TSL, who obviously has a bias on the situation. There are no quotes from other parties in the deal and no comments from Puma on why he left and if money/travel was indeed the primary motivator.

So I'm willing to be open minded about all of this until all parties have had a chance to voice their statements.

TSL announced today that they will be releasing Puma on their team. The team revealed today that after Puma won NASL, Puma directly received interest from a foreign team, Evil Geniuses.

Manager Lee noted that "It is disappointing that we have to make a decision like this, but it's extremely objectionable [T/N: displeasing, disgusting, etc] that Evil Geniuses would ignore the coaches completely and directly go talk to the player"

TIG confirms that Puma will be joining Evil Geniuses. EG made an offer to Puma after they made it to the round of 4, and after that, Puma had decided that he would accept EG's offer. Puma revealed his intentions to the TSL manager after coming back to Korea. Manager Lee decided to respect the player's wishes in the end. He noted that "It's really disturbing. It feels like the player I raised was just stolen away from me.", adding that "There needs to be a system to stop foreign teams from stealing Korean players like this"

Puma had left the TSL house as of the 20th.

EG has been revealed to pay Puma a certain amount of salary, and to provide Puma with money for foreign tournaments.

Korean Sc teams need to learn about free agency and fair trade. Playing the game at that level is about money and prestige, if you cannot offer more than another team you do not deserve that player. This is not ScBw and teams don't deserve slave like control of their players.

True, but what about Puma? Was he planning on leaving TSL anyway? It's not like he's the first player to leave from that team.

Right now, we only have statements from the coach, who obviously has a bias on the matter.

It's not as if the players have agents, or anyone really, looking to support their best interests(be it monetary or otherwise). That being said, it doesn't bother me that they approached the player instead of the coach/team manager. For all we know, if they had approached the coach first he could have tried to manipulate Puma into staying instead of presenting the offer from an objective point of view.

What exactly is he going to be doing in EG? Live in the US, kill his own training regimen and become mediocre? Live in Korea on his own, have no training house, and become mediocre? In what universe does this work out well for Puma?

And well, EG is EG. Professional BM-ing. Then again, if they ever want to win anything again this is the way to go. Have a few americans for the trolling/drama and a few koreans for results.

PuMa no! You just went from a likable person to a non-likable. Oh well good luck to him I suppose.
