I don't think so, he didn't win the internal audition tournament but I'm not sure any information on his league at the time of recruitment was released.

we're in a season lock right now. in korea the ladder system starts you in gold if you're good and you manually need to rank up through platinum, diamond, masters, gm. there is no auto placement into diamond. ITS DIFFERENT. FUCKING FXO BOSS explained this already.
so the fact that her new slayers account is trapped in gold, means NOTHING.

If I recall, he failed the Slayer's audition tourney, but then Boxer picked him up because he lost to Alicia on the ladder.

This woman is overreacting badly. I hope that the police, unlike her, will have common sense and not arrest these people she reported to them, especially the ones that meant no harm or didn't speak in public.
If the OP is accurate, I strongly think that SlayerS_Jessica is a bitch who doesn't know shit and shouldn't run an SC2 team. I hope she doesn't report me to the police .

And now she's practicing with the team as a B Teamer right? like people have said, Alicia got his start that way. sometimes it's just getting the motivation to get better. I don't questions boxer's scouting skills. If he sees potential in this girl. Than I have faith in him and her ability, just cuz she's "lol diamond" doesn't mean squat. She's diamond in korean ladder. I wouldn't be surprised if she rofl stomped the shit out of most players posting in this thread.

Celebrity suicide cases have cited celebrities being called out for scandals and basically being destroyed because of them. There's no scandal or controversy here. I don't understand how this is really all that similar, I don't see how difficult it is to really see the advantages of the position you're in regards to Eve, and the knowledge of what comes with that in regards to Jessica. I've reiterated this stance a couple of times now, in addition to asking for clarification on how the situation differs in regards to Korean culture. She's not on television shows getting bombarded, there isn't some big scandal, it's just some assholes on the internet and I don't really care about Jessica going after some of the really stupid shit. I just don't think her mass tweeting, calling people out, pointing out any post she finds offensive... etc. is really helpful, and I think that's overreacting.

so the fact that her new slayers account is trapped in gold, means NOTHING. She's in diamond excluding the ladder lock, that means she's at the very least way underperforming to be in a professional team considering about 5-10% of the SC2 players there are better than her; whereas most pro gamers only have 50-100 people better than them. I won't judge her until I actually see her play though, for all I know she's actually really good, but her league isn't helping her here.

You know, here in Germany our constitution begins with the words "Human dignity shall be inviolable." The rights guaranteeing personal freedom come after this. I think it's a pretty neat concept. Freedom won't give you much, if everyone shits on you.

Lol how does her being trapped in gold mean nothing? If she can only get into gold through her placement matches, that's pretty terribad.
You guys have to remember people aren't ragging on her 'cause she's a girl, they're ragging on her because she's a diamond player in one of the best competitive Starcraft 2 teams in the world. If this was a guy, people would be saying the same thing.
The fact that she's a girl just makes the recruitment more suspicious. This thread also wouldn't exist if it was a guy, because the only reason people care she's getting internet-trolled is because she's a girl.

lacking some absurd honor culture that causes you to care about the opinions of others, freedom gives your detractors the ability to voice their opinion about you and you the freedom to not care at all.
am I an ethnocentric American on this issue? oh yes. I've read this thread top to bottom and still can't even begin to imagine a situation where the thoughts of randoms on the internet could drive me to actual self-harm. I don't doubt the power of culture and historical precedent, but surely people can understand the evident skeptics in this thread. ignoring all of this, even assuming that we all agree that internet hatred is worth speaking out against, jessica should never have given this any publicity whatsoever. those trolls have gotten so much more attention than they ever hoped for, and it'll only fuel them to keep going.

If you're going to be an internet celebrity, you have to be willing to deal with the shit that comes with it. If you're in the spotlight, you're going to get harshly trolled, a LOT.
If you can't deal with that, you need to find another job, end of story.
"Real" celebrities like movie stars deal with this every day of their lives, with their pictures showing up in trashy mags and outright lies being told about them all the time. I'm sure someone like Robert Pattinson has 1000 hate websites dedicated to him.
This is part of being any kind of celebrity, and you just have to know that going in and deal with it, seriously. The self-righteousness in this thread is a joke. Like you've never trolled anyone on the internet in your life. I'm sure half the people in this thread have raged about IdrA or whoever.

Exactly. There must be some ulterior motive for signing a diamond player for a tip top SC2 team other than the person's skill (doesn't matter how good Koreans diamonds are when a Korean GM or masters player would be available.) In this case, the motive is obvious: they wanted a female player on the team for whatever reason. Signing a player because of gender rather than skill is a lame thing to do.

By manufacturing controversy, one can actually destroy a celebrity's livelihood. and yet it was said that Slayers_jessica scouted her for her looks as one of the reasons and knew she was only diamond level player it's like saying, 'hey I'm recruited to a professional sc2 team due to my looks and I'm not very good, so don't make fun of me'. The way they made it public and stating one of the reasons for the pickup, just seems like they were asking for it. If jessica knew what the korean culture is like then she didn't handle it accordingly. Also, she's just making it more controversial by suing everyone who just being somewhat critical like Haeun_Cielu. I've said it before, guess I'll say it again: While I don't agree with Jessica's decision to make Eve's recruitment public the way she did and at the time she did, this in no way means that Eve deserves the type of treatment she's getting now. It doesn't matter that it seems like "they were asking for it," because in the end, it still doesn't excuse the behavior or the reactions of the netizens. If you're stumbling about drunk in the middle of the night down an abandoned street and somebody mugs you, is it your fault? Hell, no. It's the robber's fault! Was it perhaps ill-advised for you to be stumbling about drunk in the middle of the night down an abandoned street? Well, yes. But the thing is, that doesn't mean you deserve to be robbed, nor does it excuse the robber for having robbed you.
Insulting someone does not hold the same degree as robbing someone. If it's harassing someone then it should be punishable but if it's something shown in the internet on a website like 4chan; I feel it's ok. To insult someone as a crime just doesn't feel right; I do occasionally like watching SNL and colbert like stuff.
If you are questioning whether being insulted like Eve is a fair treatment, no I don't feel that way; no one should be insulted. When I look at this situation, I just feel like Jessica is the one to blame and what she is doing probably won't solve anything. Putting it into more of a spotlight is something you want to avoid. Eve has so much more to prove now due to this added controversy.
And with images or ill-talk of Eve under 4chan-like sites, it is what is... a site for that kind of stuff and jessica coming in to try to stop it is silly to me. But if those people are emailing her or private messaging Eve, I think it's completely wrong. What it seems like Jessica is doing is searching everywhere for any insults of Eve or herself on the internet; even picking a fight with a 16 year old over something so small.
