This whole situation makes me really sad, more so for humanity in general. It's kind of funny thinking about all this recent talk of growing eSports into something huge and yet we treat our own community members like complete shit for no reason and act like a pack of sex starved, demented 13 year olds who got a hold of Xbox Live and never let go. As others have said, things like this are different in Korea, they won't just get bored and move on like most other places in the world, especially since this girl is just starting out - this could potentially last years and years.
I love that Jessica is doing what she can to protect Eve and I don't think she is overreacting at all, often times I myself wish there were more accountability for online actions in the US. But that's another topic for another day.

I wasn't aware of the full situation myself but having read parts of it just now, the clarification it brings makes the OP of this thread redundant. It seems that TL members have been misled.
Can't wait to read this statement. Hopefully you're right. Though honestly I'm a little appalled at how willing people in this thread seem to be to accept harassment. It happens to celebrities or people in the lime-light, it's not okay but it's not a big deal considering the advantages or relative success that these people experience, dumb shit like this shouldn't affect them. I may have been slightly more irked if it were someone under-age but honestly at that age how difficult is it to look past this nonsense and say, "I'm on one of the best Starcraft 2 teams in the world, recruited out of gold league, I sat next to a pretty famous coach at the GSTL at the player's bench, life's good, people must be envious as hell"? I don't feel too bad for her, I don't feel bad for Beiber when I see some random jackass posting about the size of his penis, I'm sure there are tons of photoshopped pictures of him blowing dudes, taking it from behind... Blowing dudes while taking it from behind. Who gives a fuck? Even at his age people would be envious as fuck, it comes with being in the spotlight in entertainment. I'd really only feel bad for children who have it thrust upon them at young age and have to deal with it growing up... She's 21, look the fuck past it. Report anyone making threats or attempting to defraud you, you don't need a mother-figure manager going after anyone who says anything mean with a vengeance. Jessica is absolutely over-reacting which is quite surprising particularly how she's parading it under her statements of protecting children from abuse. This is where I feel there may be a number of cultural aspects I'm not understanding. I'm sure Jessica is under a lot of stress but her response so far has been a little off-putting to me.
I can´t say I agree. Basically you are saying that because they are succesful they should have to take in all the crap from little idiots from the internet?
Sorry, but as i see it the cowards are those who hide behind a computer and easily bash and insult people they don´t even know. My respects for Jessica for being brave and standing up to internet warriors.

I think someone going to prison for saying something other than a death threat or something equivalent to a death threat is ridiculous. I can't believe people in Korea print out pages of comments from the internet and can take them to the police. If we could do that in Canada all I would have to do is go to Youtube and thousands would be imprisoned.
I wonder if anyone actually ends up going to prison over this or this is just a bunch of overhyped accusations that lead to no real punishments.

Or because you have a completely different situation? Let's say your image is what you are living off (well technically here it's the game skill, but if she can't appear on a televised game at all thanks to having a ruined image, then she might as well not make a living). And now it's being smeared, and the general public (being so easily influenced as all general publics are) shun you, call for sponsors to drop you, etc.
Suddenly you are out of work, you can't find new work (who wants a little whore to be part of their team?), you are young (she's 22), probably can't find a guy who will want her (relationships in the asian countries are a lot more strict), and all you did was be a girl on a pro-gaming team.
Oh. Well I guess it's different than being picked on as a kid, but not actually suffering any damage.
Wait, there are kids here in the U.S. who do get picked on, suffer major emotional damage, end up hurting themselves or others. I guess it isn't so different after all. Except that Asian countries are generally more strict about everything.

In my opinion, hiding behind PR would only cause people to label Jessica as a coward. Jessica did the right thing in my opinion. Brave of her, and society may mock her, but something that few people are able to do.
If I was in Eve's situation, I don't think I would be able to handle it well either, and I am a guy. How quickly we type, and how our mouths flap when we judge others!\
@archoOid You are right, but say it as it is. It isn't borderline sexist, this thread is rampant with sexism. It's disgusting.

Yeah but as a female kind of in the spotlight right now would you say its cool for her coach to let it slide that people are putting her face on pictures of nude models? Gotta admit if I was a chick and someone was doing that I would probably flip out and leave the gaming scene completely, there's only so much a person can handle. Name callings one thing but that stuff is very strange imo. It happens every day. Think about our celebrities today. The UK is notorious for taking the faces of others and putting them on nude bodies. When you're in the spotlight, it's how it goes. It's happened for years and years. Look at roman history for instance, you have two things that happened. Julius Caesar' and Clodius Pulcher disliked one another. The rumors spread that Pulcher was banging caesar' wife, but Caesar handled it like a gentleman, while Pulcher made himself look like a fool. You need to know how to handle certain situations. That sounds more like you just don't care because its happened in the past, that has nothing to do with it being wrong because it is. People are also rapped every day and have been throughout history so that's like saying we shouldn't combat it because its something that happens all the time lol. Sure this is less extreme but there is nothing wrong with protecting those who you have some oversight over, this is her coach, if she didn't do something than I would say there would be a real problem. But just because things happen and have happened often before does not take away from the wrong in doing it and the fact it should be punished if it can be.

someone feel free to translate please. im not gonna post google translation. Not much to say. She wasn't ranting so much as speaking to the one Korean person who accused of persecuting someone for simply criticising SlayerS. Not sure she wasn't using mentions or @ but it might be because I couldn't find that tweet user when I looked for her earlier. Jessica will be releasing a statement directly to TL or twitter in the coming hours. I wasn't aware of the full situation myself but having read parts of it just now, the clarification it brings makes the OP of this thread redundant. It seems that TL members have been misled. Perhaps when this happens, the mods would be kind enough to allow a new thread to be opened with a new OP that explains the situation quite clearly.
Since you speak Korean - can you ask Haeun_Cielu, since he/she seems to be a big player in this whole event too, for a statement was well? Something like "The foreign community is following the whole incident - and KKY is making a statement (<link to statement> when it's done). Do you want to comment as well?" Would be really cool
Because of the stuff we heard I personally might have a hard time believing what she says without hearing the other side as well.
