Does "who would bang her first" come into you mind every time you see a woman?

Yes, according to Freud that's exactly the first thing that comes to any man's mind when they see a woman. Besides, it's important for human survive and the continuation of good starcraft genes.

Anyways, I hope she does well because that will bring a larger audience to starcraft, let alone E-sports, and I feel like they wouldn't have picked her up for looks alone. (For the record, i do not find her attractive, but she gets +10 awesomeness for being on Slayers)

Either you've done well and have evidence to prove it, or simply put you haven't tried yet. Everybody in the world has potential, I don't see why somebody who's gold/diamond should get into a fairly prestigious team because she has "potential". It's like applying for a CEO position in which you have very little education or work experience but claiming that you have potential. If managers hired everybody with "potential", they would hire practically every person who applied. In reality that does not work out because most "potential" cases don't end up being successful. That's why managers/companies hire people who have work experience/education because they know that they have done work in the past that will prove that they will most likely be successful in this position, therefore ensuring a greater possibility that the managers don't need to do more work and find other employees to replace this one. Your CEO argument is a straw-man argument. Let me give you a more relevant example. Have you ever mentored someone younger than you? Or had a mentor yourself? For example, I'm about a week away from finishing my PhD, and I wouldn't have gotten this far without people taking chances on me years ago. As an undergrad I didn't have top grades, or any experience, but I was really interested in working on a research project in a lab. A professor believed me, and thought I could be trained. He was right, I learned fast (on how to program and fix some hardware), and made good enough contributions to later attend graduate school and move on to bigger projects. Look, people with time to teach and mentor sometimes find someone with drive and ambition that makes them think they can succeed. Sometimes mentoring them works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's worth the risk, and mentoring can be mutually beneficial. Please keep that in mind when you find yourself with the opportunity to train a young person.
