That won't shut them up either. She would need consistent results.

There has been plenty of first hand testimony from both foreign and Korean players that there is indeed a noticeable skill difference between KR server and NA. Sorry, lemme make this simple. Yes, there is a skill difference between the KR and NA server. No, I refuse to believe that a Korean Plat is equivalent to a NA Masters without proof of some kind. Preferably replays or streams. Top 25% of Koreans are better than the top 2% of NA? Must be something in the water. Should've watched the FXO stream while they were playing on fresh accounts after just getting to KR. You could see how the plat-dia-masters players played np.
I watched Destiny play through plat-dia-masters players with relative ease earlier today, with some slight latency jitters...
So, I'm not sure if you're saying that it is true or isn't true. Did the FXO players have trouble or did they have a relatively easy time as well?

Exactly my point ;D. It doesn't mean squat to say FXO played KR Plats and then rolled them. You can't compare NA Masters and KR Plats simply because FXO rolls them both, how badly they lost isn't a good measure when we have no idea how much FXO was just dicking around.

...what if there was something lost in translation. For example, looks could be a person's 'appearance' towards the game. It could be that Eve showed a lot of motivation, composure, maturity, etc during a test interview and Jessica was impressed by what she saw in Eve and her play on the computer. Hence, she looks good (to be a progamer) and is skillful.
...it would be cool to see female progamers in sc2 and I think it would be good for esports.
...yup, she is cute.

There's skill differences between Korea and America, but I think these mostly occur at the upper echelons and not among casual gamers. The whole reason for the skill difference is the abundance of pros/aspiring pros practicing 8+ hours a day. These guys are upper masters and grandmaster, and this is where the skill difference between koreans and Americans is pronounced, NOT at the sub-masters level. Korean platinum players are marginally less bad than American ones, they're still casual players. Claiming that korean diamond is somehow superior to mid American masters is just ludicrous and wrong.

If the korean GM is far superior to NA GM(which it is), then the korean players that are equivalent to NA GM level will be forced into masters. These players will then force players that are NA masters level down into diamond and so on.

If she's picked just because they think having a pretty girl will get them fans, then they deserve every bit of hate they're getting for it. If she really is a legit skill/talent/potential-based recruit, then this just means every early setback she has is going to result in ten times the hate it otherwise would have.
Um, same applies to male progamers too. Remember Bisu?

There are 200 people in GM vs several thousand in masters. There's a few thousand aspiring and actual pros at the very top who are way better than the top few thousand in other regions.

Hopefully she does well in the future. I wouldn't mind having more competitive female progamers. Its not like a physical sport where men has an advantage over women, so there really shouldn't be any reason that there can't be or its not possible for a top tier female progamer. I'm not sure if female being better at multi-tasking is true or not. Either way, best of luck to Slayers_Eve.
Also lol at this thread.

Apparently not, and the amateur championship was apparently against silver leaguers...
So pretty much a 100% unknown.
