Tossgirl could probably do really well in SC2 if she transitioned. Eve seems more of a fan of MMA-turned-into-progamer project that Boxer/Jessica are taking on. I doubt she is any good right now, but seeing as Jessica recruited her, I'm sure that if she has the passion for the game, that she'll improve ten fold in six months.

Any other team would probably be inhospitable for girl gamers. I think this is a definite plus. As for the reasons for bringing her on to the team -- time will tell us what those are. Hopefully they are respectable reasons (and not just publicity/private relationship reasons). People in this thread are naturally trying to come to conclusions based on how good she is, but no one's seen her play yet so we should back off that point. I would bet that she is not good enough to do well in GSL, but probably good enough to be useful in practice. It is also worth mentioning that Slayers does not (and should not) use her the way they use their star male players. She could travel around crushing everybody at female-only tournaments, play other smaller tournaments, be the spokeswoman for female gamers, &c. GSL is not the be-all end-all of progaming. Overall, I think she will be a very useful component to the Slayers team. (But once again, only time will tell.) Cheers to Slayers. Fantastic post. Time will tell the story behind her being on the team. We just need to be patient and trust that SlayerS knows what they're doing. I'm positive they do.

Don't think that kind of behavior is exclusively directed towards female gamers, they want players that are marketable. MC is a superhero in SC2 not just because of his amazing skill, but his fan interaction. He's a showman, and a walking advert for OGs. It just turns out that the majority of SC2 fans are male, so when it comes to recruiting a female gamer into your team, her looks is a relevant consideration for marketing. It's sad perhaps better female gamers aren't recruited because of their looks, but SC teams are a business, and hot girls are a better investment.

Tossgirl is a very accomplished player and can crush most of the Korean amateurs and can hang with most of the B-teamers. She sucks compared to the A-teamers, but so does everyone else in the world. Is tossgirl still playing BW then? Seems to me she could make a big splash and probably a lot of money if she switched to SC2

She tried to qualify for MSL a few weeks ago; beat some rookie B-teamer from Stars 2-0 but then had to face Jangbi and got 2-0'd.

Who knows if she changes game? Eve on the other hand will have to prove herself to deal with the backlash that has already occurred.

It could be that Eve showed a lot of motivation, composure, maturity, etc during a test interview and Jessica was impressed by what she saw in Eve and her play on the computer. Hence, she looks good (to be a progamer) and is skillful. ...it would be cool to see female progamers in sc2 and I think it would be good for esports. ...yup, she is cute. No, the korean translation specifically means appearance

I don't understand this whole "potential" concept though, or recruiting people based off of potential. Either you've done well and have evidence to prove it, or simply put you haven't tried yet. Everybody in the world has potential, I don't see why somebody who's gold/diamond should get into a fairly prestigious team because she has "potential". It's like applying for a CEO position in which you have very little education or work experience but claiming that you have potential. If managers hired everybody with "potential", they would hire practically every person who applied. In reality that does not work out because most "potential" cases don't end up being successful. That's why managers/companies hire people who have work experience/education because they know that they have done work in the past that will prove that they will most likely be successful in this position, therefore ensuring a greater possibility that the managers don't need to do more work and find other employees to replace this one. Same concept with teams who recruit new members. If teams just recruited a bunch of gold/plat players with potential...most likely you won't end up with a GM/masters team. In terms of hiring this girl...clearly she has very little credentials. She played BW when she was in elementary...that's like saying I want to apply to become a computer programmer and I learned how to use the keyboard when I was in grade 5. There is no evidence as far as I can tell that she is even close to masters...hell GM or has ever even won a tourney. Clearly no resume of starcraft high-level experience...so why would they hire her? If you can prove this to me I've love to hear it, but my argument simply comes back to the point that they simply hired her b/c she is a girl. That is the only explanation I can think of when I try to think why they recruited her. Edit: Couldn't name a single one for you. I can't imagine that the best girl in korea is Gold/diamond though...that'd be absurd. If megumixbear is what...masters? And she lives in NA? I seriously cannot imagine that they are no masters level girls in korea considering how many people play that game over there. LOL man, it's called the circle of life. Life isn't fair, sometimes PEOPLE get OPPORTUNITIES others don't get. Like how YOU were born in a great country where you could drink water, unlike AFRICA. Take it all in man, and accept that fact By your terms I think you'd want everyone in Africa that are "well-deserved" into US/Canada and other developed countries for a better life, but GUESS WAT. It's very difficult to happen due to something called ECONOMY and other FACTORS
