EDIT :
cArn Interviewed by LeLfe for team aAa + Show Spoiler +Team-aAa : Hi cArn, how is it going? still living in the GomHouse?
Souaib "cArn" Hanaf : I am having some issues in Korea to be honest as I had to leave the GomHouse because FXO needed the whole thing. Therefore I'm in pain to have enough training time to play the tourneys I'm participating. Nevertheless I'm always meeting more people and learning a lot. As I can't practice as much I take time to think about how to improve myself and how to perfect my builds.
Today you're joining eSahara, how did it happen?
Gamecreds noticed me streaming and offered me to do it on their webtv, i accepted but Dailymotion is not ideal in Korea so i had to stop. Retox -my contact in GameCreds - is also part of esahara and offered to join their new sc2 roster, After a conversation with ryad, I accepted.
Do you have any idea about who will be your teammates?
I really can't talk about it now, sorry!
Signing with eSahara means you are coming back to France or you will be their Korean department?
For the moment I'll be their "Korean department" as you say, I met a lot of people in here and know how it works. I think that a team need to have a presence abroad (understand out of France) and in Korea to be complete. Even if there are way more competitions out of Korea, the highest skill is here and everybody watches the Korean scene. After a year in Korea, what are your ambitions?
I think that after one year there I must have caught up with the scene skillwise (as I never played a RTS before) and should start gettign some results to please the one cheering for me. I prouved myself that i can compete with the best players in the world and getting respect among my peers. What's coming next is pretty simple, training with a Korean team and qualify for the GSL code A, also participating in as many tourneys as I can now that eSahara is supporting me.
any shoutout? I got into this adventure just for myself, now i'm going on for the ones who support men believe in me and wait for me to succeed, I want to thank them all. Also thanks to my friends and family and of course thanks to eSahare for picking me to start their SC2 roster, I'm sure we'll do great together!

Ah really nice for carn congrats! and to fury too (tho idk who you are )
I rememebr carn from the artosis gsl vids xD
|
gl to eSahara! Already a nice start with cArn and Fury!
|
|
technically everyone is Code B.
But cArn's alright.
The house that FXO stays in isn't the FXO house. It's the GOM foreigner house, FXO's house is in malaysia.
|
Cool to see more teams getting a SC2 section. I only knew eSahara for they're CS team and the bet Joe Miller lost, Seeing him casting topless was hilarous

If you're Korean you have to be top 200, I think. SO no, technically, not everyone is Code B. Maybe foreigners though... although I think there must still be some guidelines they follow.

not really, only the 172 players with the highest MMR in KR ladder (excluding Code A/Code S players) and foreigners comprise of Code B

cArn the swedish counter-strike legend player?

really enjoy cArn's stream, but never realized he was teamless, can't wait to see the next few players they pick up.
|
|
nice to see carn finally land on a team :D
|
Isn't Fury that guy that played WoW instead of Wc3 without his team knowing about it when he was in 4kings with ToD, Grubby and Creolophus?

No.
cArn has lived in the GOM house for a while, which is where FXO is staying for the GSTL at the moment.

a statement from the players or the organisation is usually what follows with these "X/Y player joins Z team" threads but standards these days.. =/

GoGo cArn

cuz it's summer time, every teams opers to transfers

Thank god cArn FINALLY got a team. He's a really good player.

oh mah gawd
Carn finally landed himself on a team?
A single tear just rolled down my cheek.
Anyone else actually got the impression that he could do reasonably well in NA/EU tournaments with the way he's been holding it together on the KR ladder?

to op's defense no statement was made from the team or from the guy... As I write for a French website I interviewed cArn, you can read it here I can translate it if people want me to do so, but it's quite long, so let me know if you are interested

LeLfe you should translate it :D
Sinon félicitations pour ton travail de rédacteur qui est, à mon sens, le plus aboutit en France

Uhm, is this sarcastic or what?
What else is the OP meant to say, it was just an announcement.
Anyway, this is great. cArn is a really good player. Just shows you how rough those Code B qualifiers are.

Any foreigner can play in code B, but at what point do they stop letting you compete just because you aren't Korean?
|
On July 11 2011 00:35 vanhio wrote: cArn wc3 legend ? Can you share any of his accomplishments ?
I know the OP isn't the best but it's pretty clear that Fury is the wc3 legend ><
Good luck in the future eSahara!

How do you get in to one of these teams, what kind of players do they invite?
|
I thought in an interview with Artosis at one of the code A qualifiers cArn (or someone talking about him) said that there were talks about him joining fou?
also congradulations to carn and fury
|
On July 11 2011 01:31 ICanFlyLow wrote: How do you get in to one of these teams, what kind of players do they invite?
Im guessing you need some kind of known results, or reputation among the community as being a decent player. These teams usually scout players ahead of time based on alot of different variables. It could be that carn is living in korea playing in Code B (which gives the team the chance at having a player in the GSL), combined with his skill and personality etc. that makes him a profitable player to acquire.
|
Glad Carn has a team..He really needs people to practice with to get better.
Carn Fighting!
|
Is this 100% confirmed? I talked with cArn yesterday and what we talked about make this a surpries to me

It's not *just* because you're not Korean, it's because your ranking on the Korean ladder wouldn't be accurate if you weren't playing on it from the beginning. You still have to face monsters like DRG (like QXC did) in the Code A qualifiers if you want to make it to Code A. It would be ludicrous to ask top players to move to Korea and ladder for 2-3 months before they could begin to qualify.
It's funny that cArn and fury are both names of two well known Swedish CS players. Gl to you both and eSahara.

Glad to see cArn get on a team, I remember he said he was practicing with fOu a lot a while back but I'm glad he's got a solid team behind him now. Is he going to stay in Korea?

there you go, if you can add this to the op, that would be nice note: I skipped 2 questions as it was not that related to the topic and the answers are darn long :D original itw here

yes it is

Good players to start off with I guess but I disagree with Fury being a guy with lots of potential. Yes he was pretty good in WC3 in 2005 or so but his legendary status(what??) was mainly due to being a part of 4K which is indeed a legendary team but not thanks to Fury. He's been playing SC2 since beta and is doing about as well as he did during his last three or so years in WC3 - a good player, top 10-ish in Sweden but a couple tiers below the best. I don't know where the idea of him having some undiscovered talents comes from.
This was more of a hate post than I intended, Fury is solid and a great pickup for a newly formed team. it was just that one sentence that struck me as odd.

cArn <3 i love this guy. He is really beasty terran. Can't wait to see him get into code A and mix it up. Good luck with this team bro!

Kinda contradicting. It says hes a wc3 legend, but in Carns interview he states he's never played an RTS before.
|
I think both players will continue to be a disappointment, and that this team will be short lived. carn isnt even one of SEA's top 10 players and he's been living and breathing starcraft 2 in korea for a while.
gl tho

Carn is a great pickup, but I don't really see the reason to pickup Fury.
|
I've heard varying stories of cArn, he seems like an alright guy, but also seems a bit shady. I've heard some people say that he BMs alot on stream and has a pretty bad attitude, but I've never seen it first-hand. Here's to a breakout year, though.
|
hmmm hope Fury become as good as he did in wc3 before going inactive pretty much. Use to enjoy watching him play in wc3 when he was active!! He deffiantly has the potential to get better!!!
|
and former WC3 legend, Fury
Coming from a Wc3 background, I can safely safe that apart from 2004-2005 when 4k was in Korea, Fury was probably the most hated player (by fans) in the 4k team because of his phenomenally poor W/L ratio in the WC3L tournaments usually being one of the causes for 4K's defeats in wc3l. IIRC, he even went an entire season without winning a single BO3. I wouldn't call him a legend. More of a notorious person .

cArn is such a champ, he's a madman to stay out there fighting for so long. I hope he qualifies next season.

I've been following cArn when I first saw him in one of Artosis videos at the GSL qualifiers. I'm glad to see he's on a team. cArn fighting!
|
i'm pretty sure cArn's motivation is growing up with each support comments

Reading the name eSahara instantly drew an image in my head of an eSports team formed up by an oil millionaire in Dubai.

Was cArn a pro CS player? Lol, FXO taking up the whole house gl cArn, I still remember your interview with Artosis

So good to see carn finally picked up, it was great to meet you in Korea, really nice dude, even showed us the perfect pc bang in Hongdae hohoho :> Good luck (also in the code a qualifiers) and hope you can make it far with your new team, you really deserved it!

Srsly fury shouldn't be called former wc3 legend =) And carn is quiet BM on his own stream. Once he tried to fly building and waited for the draw mode on KR Ladder =) Just like a brozon player

Yes he should, if you followed the Warcraft 3 scene early enough you would understand.
The 2 beast players on 4kings originally were Fury and Zeus, and it is in the later days of 4kings that they played less and got in the shadows.
Fury is legendary if only for his ladder account Fuji[SPEED]

Because this obviously couldn't be posted in any of their RECENT lineup change posts???
I think this might be the first 6+month necro of the year. TL Staff / Writers... take note here. This could be an interesting story developing!!!
