Delta quadrant and scrap station are long overdue to get pulled from the ladder pool.

Shortest season so far. I wonder if in the future there will be shorter seasons.

I feel as if that Season 3 is unorganized or rushed since Season 2 was short, new maps introduced without some sort of testing, etc.

Eh, I guess I can get placed into a higher league now.

It was the second season...if anything season 2's length will be indicative of how long a typical season will be, since Season 1 was from the beginning of the game's release.

They made, if I remember correctly, 2 rush-maps, 2 "normal"-maps which are rush with rocks, and 1 "macro"map. You could say that those rush-maps are like close positions on metalopolis, where as "normal" are close-by-air with rocks between your mains. Of course it shouldn't be close, but still almost.

I don't even know how to do any Z 1-2 base all-ins, guess I should learn to do couple.

Don't worry your rating might drop a bit but if you can beat a terran or protoss on a rush map you'll be able to beat them easily on a standard map (like MLG or GSL map pool) so see it as an advantage.
Try another route paperboy.

I'm suprised that the season 2 actually lasted 3-4 months. Normally Blizz is always off-schedule I'm glad that season 3 approach... I just hope that the ladders will be fixed by then.

Not really. Rush maps play so differently--you can barely take a safe third, and your opponent can give you hell for trying--but he can't at all. So if you practice mostly on "rush"maps, you'll have no idea how to stop a competent P/T who goes for the long game on a "standard" map. You might be better at fighting 2-rax/4-gate, but bad at combating late game mech pushes/hellion play/deathballs/etc.

I don't feel season 2 was too short... in fact I would argue it was about perfect. These maps are starting to get stale. I welcome season 3 as a refreshing change.

gahahaha season lock is the greatest especially with grandmasters. I got #1 by not playing games as you need like an 75% winrate to stay even without bonus pool in GM...

This. Add Slag Pits as well though.

At least Tal'Darim, Shakuras, and Typhon should stay. Shattered Temple isn't too bad either, but I won't be surprised if they cut it.

Oh, and get rid of Backwater Gulch imo. I banned that map about 2 days after Season 2 started.

I hope they remove the ability to spawn close by ground positions. That seriously needs to be done.

I hope they get rid of Scrap, Slag, and Typhon at least in exchange for the new maps.

[Edit] and Delta has to go too. I banned that map so fast I forgot about it, hah.

Your MMR will still go up, might as well keep laddering. If anything Season 3 coming is good because sometimes your MMR will be Masters level but the game will still need you to play more games before promoting you to "be sure" or something. Having that one placement is kind of like an instant evaluation of where you belong.

Apparently David Kim is considering getting rid of close position maps entirely with Season 4, since they don't work.
