Once again Goodluck to coL and Destiny in future endeavors.
*edit* People need to actually READ THE THREAD, stop quoting an incredibly OLD INCONTROL Post on page 8 or something, it's not even relevant anymore.

So many foreign players should practice more and cuddle with the community less. In the end I rather have you guys stomp some Koreans at the next MLG than anything else ^^

LOL? he faced Capoch (ZvP) who intelligently went for clever all-ins in 2 of the 3 games. Please don't spread lies like you are right now. He went ahead and BM'ed Capoch but that's another story. Wrong, he lost to DarkCell 2-1 in the first round of the winners bracket who went on to go very far in the bracket. He was eliminated by Capoch later in the losers bracket 2-1 in a fairly late round.

Destiny is an incredibly smart person and I think he know's how to make the right desicions for him. Besides, he's making great money from streaming and coaching, teams seem kind of silly to me now especially considering all of the close to home tournaments now.

I do think it's relevant to some degree considering how he acts and, by extension, present himself to the community is the underlying "issue". I have spent countless hours on his stream. What keeps me coming back is, besides his gameplay, his intellect. He is bad mannered at times but I believe it is in good fun. Rarely have I felt that he actually got mad or even irritated about losing a game, even if the opponent says something mingy. I like his rather loose take on the games as individual games which in contrast to his take on the game in general is, for me, spirit hightening and, I don't know. It's a nice thing. "Lose the battle win the war" kind of mentality. At least that's what I feel. I can be wrong however, it's subjective. Further elaborating I believe this could be a product of him being highly logical. I don't get the feeling he is "anti-establishment", an anarchist or any kind of synonym. He does act in a special way, truly. Taking his outspoken values into account however I don't think anything he does is not based on logic. He is definitely consistent with how he acts and it's easy to follow his train of thought when he explains any of his actions, theorycrafts or similar simply because it's seemingly flawless. Steven is most definitely very intelligent. I don't think anyone who has spent any number of hours will tell you differently. His theorycrafting is very strong. His arguments are rock solid. His actions are justifiable. He is truly a cerebral. Which brings me to my actual point if it has been unclear so far: Steven has tremendous potential. His will to grow and improve is impressive. If he sticks at it he will undoubtedly be one of the greats. How does this relate back to the coL-situaion? It doesn't necessarily. But it does present my view on his future possibilities. If the two sides reached an agreement where a departion was for the best I am sure that was indeed for the best. Okay! I'm sorry for any linguistic or grammatical errors or if anything is unclear ![]() I felt this intelligent response needed to be quoted as I highly agree with the sentiments. Destiny may seem ill mannered at times, but if you actually hear his arguments and listen to him in a debate his arguments display a level of thought and consideration seen in very few people. I wish more people put as much thought into their beliefs as Steven does. This. If someone thinks that Steven is somehow of a lesser intelligence and/or uneducated it definitely says more about that author's intelligence than Steven's. I'm not saying he's a super genius (few is), but rather a highly reflective and reasonable individuale. It takes intelligence to recognize intelligence and therefore some will think that they're oh so very smart compared to Steven...

When in fact he did something very professional, he read the contract and made sure there weren't any extreme rules and while feeling uncomfortable he signed it for his teammates and Root. If he didn't sign it, the deal would fall through and that would be backstabbing his team, IMO he did the right thing and nobody should be giving him ANY flak about it. After the deal it is his personal decision if he wants to stay on the team or not. Once again Goodluck to coL and Destiny in future endeavors. Well, it's a bit of the ol' bait and switch. It's not 'unprofessional' in the sense that it happens in business all the time. But he did waste Complexity's time and it is still considered, as Destiny himself said, a 'douche' move. I wouldn't make a habit out of it when doing business, but it's not the worst thing in the world. The 'right thing' would have been to be upfront front from the beginning and ride off into the sunset, Kiwikaki style.

The first time I watched his stream I thought he was really annoying, his keyboard was so loud and he seemed very angry, and he's a bit of a smart ass. He has a bad attitude when viewed in a reserved, conservative, or protective manner. But I watched him a few more times, and now I actually think he's pretty cool. Definitely a good stream to watch. He seems like a smart guy, and obviously a lot of people like listening/watching to him. He definitely comes off with a bad first impression, but the more you watch the more you understand where he's coming from. I like it when a player shows emotion. I don't like censoring yourself just to be classy. I would rather watch a player who is not afraid to be himself and say whatever he is thinking. Players like this always draw attention to their respective sport. It's like Happy Gilmore, was he inappropriate, obscene and broke all the rules? Yes. But was he entertaining to watch and reinvigorated the game? Yes. Now I know Happy Gilmore is a movie, but honestly the world needs more characters who do things their own way and are entertaining. Sure it may offend some people, but that's the price you pay to be yourself and free to express yourself with no limitations. People get offended at every little thing these days. Their are to many nut jobs who think everything people say is so offensive and hurtful. People need to either repair their mental fragility, or not watch this stuff. But don't complain about it excessively, its just pathetic. It's to bad that people will always try to hate and detract from someone successful. Destiny has his own niche in the Starcraft 2 community. He may have gained it by means which some people find offensive, but good for him. Most his haters are just probably jealous he has so many viewers. Personally I am tired of all these super nice guys. Sure its easy to like them, and they set a good example. But honestly a good percentage of these "model citizen gamers" are probably just as bad or worst then Destiny. The only difference is they hide it and put on the "nice guy" act. I prefer someone who is somewhat of a (expletive) then someone pretending to be something their not.

Seriously though, he shouldn't have signed it, they would've absorbed the other Root members regardless, it's not like they were like "If Destiny isn't coming, we're not taking the rest" Lol, they knew Slush and Kiwikaki weren't joining.

Ok, the way Destiny did wasn't the best (he admited that himself some pages ago) but he had the best intentions. It only shows that apperently he's a loyal guy (since Catz and Root gave him a chance). If that doesn't count ... poor world. Seriously: I don't think he received money from Compexity right now. So it's a good time to just shred the contract and both sides can go their way. Nobody was hurt, nobody had economical damage. Everything is good ![]()
