Needless to say, that was a bad move on IdrA's part because he effectively angered a hornet's nest, figuratively speaking 2) HDStarcraft got picked up by a team? This is news to me. I checked both Liquipedia and did several google searches and saw nothing about it. However, a few popular casters/players have been picked up by teams before i.e. Vile picking up PsyStarcraft and Sixjax picking up Artosis. 3) Yes, Destiny did qualify for IPL Season 2, proving that he can indeed compete with the best players on NA. Point 1: People are comparing Destiny's BM to Idra's claiming Destiny is a "bad boy" and deserves what he got, while Idra is a "good boy" since he got picked up by EG. My point is that this is far from true. Point 2: Sarcastic point about how people are added to teams because they are good players, not big personalities or are able to draw fans to the team. HDStarcraft is exactly the type of person that was added to a team because of his personality. (Your search wasn't that thorough... I have added the TL thread below). http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=234446 Point 3: People keep saying Destiny is no good. He is in GM in NA and qualified for IPL2. I'd say that is pretty good.

In my opinion, I feel bad for Destiny. The one big built-from-the-ground team where I felt he belonged had been assimilated into a much larger multi-game e-sports clan. It's kinda like when you're in a really nice guild on WoW and they merge with a much larger guild to create something huge, but probably with different values which some players may disagree with. Not saying that I'm not going to continue ROOTing for CompLexity, because I didn't think the merger was necessarily bad plus I like some of their players (i.e. CrunCher, CatZ, Drewbie etc.) However, I hope another team does sign Destiny, maybe Sixjax, Vile, Reign, FXOpen or even Team Dignitas ![]()

But now that the topic of idra has come up, I can't help but chip in, telling me to kill myself multiple times, isn't exactly "toning it down". Col and destiny just didn't work out. He went ahead and BM'ed Capoch but that's another story. I beleave hes talking about MLG, but you just wanted to flame destiny anyway so i guess you dont really care.

I do think it's relevant to some degree considering how he acts and, by extension, present himself to the community is the underlying "issue". I have spent countless hours on his stream. What keeps me coming back is, besides his gameplay, his intellect. He is bad mannered at times but I believe it is in good fun. Rarely have I felt that he actually got mad or even irritated about losing a game, even if the opponent says something mingy. I like his rather loose take on the games as individual games which in contrast to his take on the game in general is, for me, spirit hightening and, I don't know. It's a nice thing. "Lose the battle win the war" kind of mentality. At least that's what I feel. I can be wrong however, it's subjective. Further elaborating I believe this could be a product of him being highly logical. I don't get the feeling he is "anti-establishment", an anarchist or any kind of synonym. He does act in a special way, truly. Taking his outspoken values into account however I don't think anything he does is not based on logic. He is definitely consistent with how he acts and it's easy to follow his train of thought when he explains any of his actions, theorycrafts or similar simply because it's seemingly flawless. Steven is most definitely very intelligent. I don't think anyone who has spent any number of hours will tell you differently. His theorycrafting is very strong. His arguments are rock solid. His actions are justifiable. He is truly a cerebral. Which brings me to my actual point if it has been unclear so far: Steven has tremendous potential. His will to grow and improve is impressive. If he sticks at it he will undoubtedly be one of the greats. How does this relate back to the coL-situaion? It doesn't necessarily. But it does present my view on his future possibilities. If the two sides reached an agreement where a departion was for the best I am sure that was indeed for the best. Okay! I'm sorry for any linguistic or grammatical errors or if anything is unclear ![]() I felt this intelligent response needed to be quoted as I highly agree with the sentiments. Destiny may seem ill mannered at times, but if you actually hear his arguments and listen to him in a debate his arguments display a level of thought and consideration seen in very few people. I wish more people put as much thought into their beliefs as Steven does.

I was going through the thread wondering the exact same thing, assuming that all the drama was before Destiny's response was edited into the OP, but no, it keeps going after that... What kind of twisted world view people must have to assume everyone is petty and vindictive and run with it...

However, Both parties could of handle it better. At the end of the day, put yourself in destiny's shoes... 1. don't sign and screw ur teammates because you can't make up your mind in a 6hour timeframe for a long term contract or 2. sign it and sort out the shit storm afterwards. I'd choose the latter any day esp since any publicity is a good thing in the end. This is a good opportunity for Destiny. GL to both

Law surrounding employment contracts is different in all 50 states. Generally, it's impossible to compel someone to keep working under an employment contract if they refuse, but it is under certain conditions possible to prevent them from accepting other employment as provided by the contract. What those conditions are varies from state to state. (Where I live, California, has one of the most loose rules on it, which is that unless someone is an executive or other "key" employee, noncompete agreements aren't valid, and in any case they are never valid beyond 6 months.) Edit: In this instance, from everything said on both sides, it's evident that Destiny's been released from his contract, which means that Complexity won't be trying to enforce any of its provisions against him.

I'm not sure why Destiny needs a team or should even be on one. He's a personality in the SC2 community, much like IdrA (obviously not to IdrA's skill), and his streams are quite entertaining for his viewers. It's perfectly understandable for "corporate image" types to not be interested in having him represent them, but it doesn't mean he's Destiny is wrong in how he goes about his public image. That must have been when HuK first turned stream on because I specifically remember his being around 4.5k at one point.

However I'd much rather see a happy destiny even if it would end up with him streaming ladder.
