Kiwi and Slush confirmed to be joining FXO

I'm not being serious.. its a response to a FXO member teasing about Kiwi and Slush joining a new team.

That realy ruined my day Huge fan of Root Gaming. They always had the image of an underdog. The little team with less money able to compete with the "big" names of the scene. Also the very unique kind of players. And last but not least the lovely voice of Paulo.

I don't know ... I don't see me cheering for col. So I guess I have to cheer for the old root players but not for the new team.
It simply shows that everyone has his price.

Good move by Kiwi and Slush to get a new team.

Finaly my thoughts: IMKiwikaki (since the IM coach wanted a foreigner in his team and IM needs a good protoss player

I hope that kiwi will go to FXO, he is just what they need. Slush would be cool on liquid or EG.

Sad to see ROOT disbanding... it feels like some teams are "eating up" the competition. Nonetheless, new talents form new teams.

What's the point in buying ROOT if you don't get their two best players?

Well, atleast IdrA now has one team less to hate.

Cruncher, Minigun, and Drewbie all on the same team, at least he can concentrate his hate all in one place.

IdrA hates Kiwi and has repeatedly BM'd him live on multiple streams. Why would Kiwi go to EG?

Not sure what I think of this, I agree with the person above me, I enjoyed who ROOT were. Talented guys making it to the top with no sponsors and just hard work... I'm also really interested in where Slush and Kiwikaki are going to end up.

Whats wrong with Root Gaming? Didnt they just acquired new sponsors like justin.tv and pokerstars?

Yea I also hope Kiwikaki and slush go to FXO. I think they were the two big names on ROOT that were seriously skillfull players. If they can join back up with QXC, sheth and the other FXO players, FXO will be a much more "capable" team in the GSTL.

I'm a bit surprised, but I'm happy for them.

I can't help but wonder where Kiwikaki and Slush will end up though, they kinda were my 2 favorite players in ROOT, as I love their game style and they're from Quebec too ^^

"Kiwi and Slush the only good players" my ass.

While that's true and people are over exaggerating. Slush and Kiwi were the 2 players who brought the most results home in recent months. Kiwi especially, he was pretty much ROOT's golden boy. A bit like IdrA is for EG.

I'm really sad to see ROOT disband/merge. I used to love every single one of their players, their line up was so solid back in the early days.

Sheth, Slush, CatZ, qxc, Drewbie, Cauthonluck, KiWiKaKi, ddoro... It was the strongest lineup in NA certainly. It was kind of inevitable something like this would happen though, they were slowly losing players bit by bit. First Cauthonluck stopped playing, then Sheth left, then qxc. As much as people disliked him, Terran left too for sixjax who was a player ROOT considered for the future, and they were never able to replace those players with players of the same calibre. Which meant the team gradually got weaker. I guess money does talk in the end, players do have to make a living after all and when the bigger boys come knocking for your players, it's hard for them to turn the offer down.

It's a shame transfer fees or something of that ilk don't exist between teams. So ROOT would have at least have got something for producing the talent they did. That could go towards the team and making it better. But i doubt any of their players had contracts anyway and SC2 isn't at the stage yet where it's creating that much money so that teams are prepared to pay for top players along with their wages. I mean i remember when Jaedong wanted to leave due to a contract dispute but nobody was prepared to pay the fee they'd have to for him so he ended up signing a new deal and staying. And that's fricking Jaedong!

The same goes for Prae really. It just seems like the smaller teams spend a long time helping nurture the talent for it to be snapped up when they're big enough, but get nothing in return. Makes me a little sad inside, but that's the romantic side in me. I hope a time comes where the scene is so developed that isn't the case anymore. And they get at least something in return.

Best of luck to all the ROOT players. Regardless of where they all end up. I'll always remember that little team that had no sponsors or money but through sheer ability and creativity won ALOT.
