I'd much rather Slush and Kiwi go to Dignitas, Fnatic or Liquid instead of FXO. I dunno, I think that it's a weird situation.

If Kiwi and Slush join Fnatic or Liquid, the team they join becomes my new favorite team.
If they join some other team, Dignitas becomes my new favorite team.
If they join Dignitas, super cool shit.

Well... Fuck.

FXO is starting to feel like the Yankees. I hate the freaking Yankees.

Wow...

My thoughts... pretty much EXACTLY...

lmao

That's why I loved ROOT, they picked up players and build them up.

what building did they do though? really?

they picked up major which was huge for them. then basically told him we cant support you, even though he was clearly going to be their big hitter. so he understandably left.

they picked up destiny when people still believed he might become a big name, but since then hes fallen back into a streams-a-lot-funny-guy.

the first team to be able to put together any kind of pro house, and none of their players have become better because of it. their best players dont even live in the house.

its all well and good rooting for the underdog but you cant argue that root are the estro of america

FXO is buying Kiwi, this is quite certain IMO. He wants to go to Korea, FXO is going to Korea, deal sealed.

Isn't Root like 7-2 vs EG in clan wars? It's funny cause Idra always talks down on them and they keep beating EG.

I would say ROOT does perform better teamwise than EG, but look at they're roster.

Protoss- INControl/Axslav vs Kiwi- Kiwi stomps them hands down (ddoro doesnt even count you never see him play anymore)

Terran-LZGamer(nonexistant)/ Demuslim(insanely good but still recovering after managing to break both of his hands, so of course his skill isnt at peak yet) vs Drewbie/Fayth- Demuslim wins BARELY but will overcome them easier and easier as time goes on. (Fayth was never good. period)

Zerg-IdrA/Strifecro vs Slush/Catz - Ofcourse IdrA dominates here, but slush and catz are still REALLY good. and Strifecro's a joke compared to them.

to Summarize, EG has two good playing team members. ROOT has more. but dont get it confused. IdrA nerd stomps them all everytime. i can give Incontrol some slack though considering his obviously huge other contributions to e-sports. You just cant co-cast the biggest e-sports tourney 10 hours a day 5 days a week and still being to play at the highest calibur. (Minigun beat him one time in a tourney round that wasnt even elimination, big deal. that make his record vs Idra combined with ladder like 4-50)
Axslav is decent, but the only reason him and strifecro even originally got on EG's roster was bc of their 2v2(they used to be the best in the world) and watching them get REPEATEDLY stomped in 2s in the EG master's cup, I'm sure their contracts will get seriously looked at,come resigning time.
If at least Kiwi joined EG, their team would go from "decent" as it currently stands to being able to compete with with Dignitas and Mouz (easily the two best non korean teams)

Well...ROOT was always the team to look up to since they were doing it big in the scene regardless of the money situation, but all in all I guess when the days coming to an end you have to be able to the financial support.

That's HuK, Idra respects Kiwi, calls him the best protoss outside of Korea. I still don't see either going to EG, they have quite a strong roster.

I hate to say something negative about a pickup by an organization but I can't help but feel this was a dumb move by coL and ROOT. I mean the only reason I can see that ROOT would choose to sell out to coL is because they already knew KiwiKaki and Slush were leaving.

But why would coL pick up Root when the two top players left is beyond me...

Feels like FXO and Dignitas are the teams for KiWiKaKi and Slush. I hope for it at least. =)

And I have to say that I lost my interest in this team now. I liked ROOT because how they were sticking together and not take offers like this but I guess the money for sending players to events and stuff became a problem at the end. I wont cheer for compLexity because I have something against that organisation since back in the days of CS 1.6 lol.

This is nonsense as he has repeatedly said he is one of the decent/good protoss players. He has however said he wouldn't be doing as well as he is if he wasn't protoss.

And its a big "fuck you" to their current roster, if they even plan on keeping them.

1. all the guys who are left on root, catz, destiny, drewbie, minigun, are third rate players, there's no way around that. they're great guys, but don't associate character to skill as a competitor, only slush and kiwi had it on root, it's not disrespectful to them to mention this fact of which i'm pretty sure they're well conscious of.

2. no news here, catz spoiled this on destiny's stream the other day

3. col gets more exposure, root guys get more cash. this is the good part. however, col doesn't get top players, and root doesn't get top dollar, so unless the team invests a lot into potential and the players start working really seriously instead of fucking around like they've been so far, i don't see anyone involved in this deal benefitting in the long run.

4. good luck to kiwi, the i was wondering when he was gonna leave root, it was only a matter of time, and this move by root gave him the perfect excuse to back out without hurting any feelings. can't wait to see who picks him up, we need to see this guy in more tournaments, he had more ro less plateaued on root.

despite some criticism here, wishing these people all the best, hoping to see good stuff from them as the scene matures.

They've been together since the beta and picked up a lot of players who later turned out be pretty strong, this includes players like Minigun, DDoRo, Destiny, Major, QXC(was pretty hot early on though) and Sheth.

They've built a lot of great players, so I disagree.

I'm completely shocked at the moment over this. It also amazes me how coL can have such a big sc2 roster. That mutli-gaming company has so much money to use for its resources. Its really great to see in e-sports, I'm just shocked and jealous.

Beyond sad to learn the ROOT I know and love is no longer. Thanks for all the great entertainment though. I will always remain a huge fan of CatZ and drewbie and the ROOT they created.

Great respect for all the time and effort you put into creating and evolving the team. Sad it eventually didn't work out the way you wanted it to.

Good luck in the future to all the former ROOT, hope none of you change a bit.

Erm no, IdrA has called Kiwi bad plenty of times. It could be all part of the hype train though. He's admitted himself he says some things now just to cause a stir.
