Totally different management, FXO just sponsors both teams so don't expect this to happen anytime soon.

Fuck all the haters. I'm super pumped for FXO to be in the GSTL. With all of their players practicing fulltime on the Korean ladder I'm sure they'll get significantly better. Regardless, Sheth and moonan are already bosses. I really can't wait for the next GSTL now.

Great news, GL FXO, kick come ass !!!

Awesome news!!! From what I have read in this thread, it seems quite a few people are apprehensive of FXO being the specific team chosen to be represented. But a few things to keep in mind, is they are one of the relatively larger teams which is necessary to keep diversity in players in a team league. Also, more importantly, due to where they are located, and the few collaborations they have had with GOM and Korean players, they are in a better position to enter the team league from the point of view.
GOM has already announced that foreigners can be used as 'mercenaries', an example being Jinro or Huk playing for oGs-TL. All in all, it's the right step forward, and even if people are apprehensive about FXO's performance, you need to remember this is opening the path for other, more accomplished teams, while providing FXO a fantastic opportunity to prove themselves.
Overall, great news :D. Team league is really fun, and with this I hope they are able to even expand the brackets. :D

Ahhh yeah I almost forgot, what about the MLG winner, runner up etc going to Code S/A. Some good mercenaries for the team maybe
|
So I guess I really hope Sheth gets a Code A spot at Colombus

fxo as a team havent won any teamleague in the foreigner scene. i just think they dont derserve a spot in this. they are a good team, but not top 5 imo. No one invited us to any team league yet and we didn't have a full roster when the other team leagues were running.

Meh, not to be cynical, but I actually think theres very little chance that FXO can make it far here. All support goes to them though, they're an awesome team, but I dunno if they have quite the man-power. Like a lot of people are saying, gogo sheth all kill!
I mean, I kind of facepalmed when I saw optikzero on there to be honest... In my eyes, he's known for cheesing in craftcups around early 2011. And again, like a lot of people are saying, FXO aren't really a top foreigner team.
I easily think NaNiwa is close (if not already) Code S level, so is Thorzain, Strelok etc. It's too bad that two of the very very best foreigners (Dimaga and White-ra) aren't on really big teams. White ra just joined TTesports, and i'm not sure if we'll be seeing them in the GSTL anytime soon (not sure, maybe they're a really well established team).
On a more positive note perhaps, I hope this will inspire more of these top foreigner teams to go to korea and compete in GSTL. While I don't believe FXO is quite up to snuff, I certainly think Dignitas, ROOT (forgot to mention those guys. CatZ all-kill perhaps?), Mouz and a few other teams are.

When Mr Chae mentioned a foreign team participating in the next GSTL season, FXO actually was the first that came to my mind, but then I got sucked in with the Dignitas hype, lol. Whereas I agree with many of you and have concerns that the FXO roster is enough to take down the other GSTL teams, I do not want to say that other foreign teams might have been "better-skilled" to take on the GSTL. I think FXO is in a great position, they can only top expectations and they will climb a steep learning curve in a new environment rapidly. Overall this is great news for the individual parties, as well as the globalization of SC2 as a whole. One thing I'm wondering about, tho, is whether one of the Korean teams will not participate in GSTL. As far as I understood, there are 2 groups with 5 teams each, which makes 10 teams. The 9 Korean S2Conference-teams + SlayerS + FXO makes 11. Someone enlighten me, please

good luck FXO! don't listen to the negative stuff.. just do your thing and I know you can get good results!

I think everyone is missing the point. They are going to put their whole team together to live in a korean type environment. The point of this is to get their players to the korean's level. They might not do amazing in the GSTL, but after a few months of extremely hard work in Korea they will be so much better of a team. FXO has players that really are dedicated too; sheth, qxc, moonan, and optik can definitely bring it to the next level in korea.

I assume there'll be a group with 5 and one with 6 teams.

They said there was going to be 11 teams and the groups/way the schedule is going to work will be released next week.
11 teams will be:
Slayers MVP IM TSL oGs fOu ZeNez Ho Seo StarTale Prime FXO
Only thing I can think of is there will be some sort of play-in match between two of the teams to make it into the GSTL. From that list, the two lowest teams would be Ho Seo (San's team) and FXO.

As mentioned in the quote, they will be staying in the GOM house.

since foreigners can partner up with a Korean pro team to participate in GSTL, FXO should also be able to get those that are going to participate in GSL Code A/S from MLG exchange to be part of their lineup in the GSTL.

Looking forward to the videos and write-ups of FXO's Korean run! I absolutely love behind the scenes things like that. Goodluck guys.
