Most people think that pro gamer life should be like a sweat shop. People forget that the reason why Koreans are so much better is because their culture cultivates it. Korea is small so something like GSL can happen where people can come there to actually compete on a daily basis instead of a lan event which they can take the time to study their opponent.
Obviously talent is a key factor here as well, but people really gotta stop giving them so much flak. These guys work hard and burn out can affect people. Perhaps maybe a few things could be changed like how to prepare for certain matches, but to say they're slacking off or they have distractions I feel at that point it's just poking them for the sake of hating a player or team.

You can't have have a "normal" life when you are a competitive Starcraft player and wants to be the best. Also, why can't we compare Professional Sports to Starcraft, they both require time and effort remain at a fairly high competitive tier and you can't honestly say that a tennis player that practices for 6 hours will consistently beat someone more dedicated that practices for 10 hours. However practice time isn't the only thing that matter as well, relative happiness of an individual is pretty important in their performance as a depressed player will never have results equalling a content player no matter how equal they are in skill level.

Team EG=fuck tonne of sponsors, and usually get new sponsors
Korean BW teams: Struggled to find new sponships for the last 2 years, hence Team 8 getting sponsored by Kespa.
The house is more of a media office than a pro house, but that's what EG needs to keep the wheels turning. Without that level of commitment to media productions and making the sponsors happy, we get the sad state that BW is in now, which is few sponsors and a lack of interest from new sponsors.

My suggestion would be, (in an ideal world) to add a coach to the house. There would be so many benefits, but we dont seem to have that yet in the western SC2 world. But Girlfriends, as long as they don't get in the way of training should be seen as a positive.

I don't know about tennis, but I know that for example nobody in football (soccer) ever EVER trains for 10 hours a day. Even half that is rare (and irregular). I would imagine the same is true for most physical sports.
Professional football players actually do have a LOT of spare time (during the day, but also during the entire year, taking into account off-seasons, injuries etc). They have more spare time than an average person on a 9 to 5 job, let alone a Starcraft progamer.
For them it's more a case of having too much spare time on their hands rather than too little, which coupled with their maturity (or lack thereof on average) leads to all the hilarious incidents people read about in the newspapers next day.

They train for around 8 hours a day. This includes talking tactics, football skills (general kicking around and set pieces) Reviewing replays of their personal performances with coaches, team activities like playing fifa and shit like that and things to bring the team closer together. They do live with their partners though, and very often teams will do a deal with the players that the night before a game they stay with the team (even home games) and no sex. Shit like that.

Yeah they may not train physically 8 hours a day but they don't just do physical practice for a couple hours and then that's all they do lol. They probably work just as much as any other person. Even during off season it's not like they can slack off to much they still have to keep in shape and probably do some off season training as well.

No consistency? MKP, MVP, Nestea, MC have all been pwning everyone since beta, 2 straight years.
another thing is, it's complete misconception that pure hours invested -> skill. 8 hours training per day is enough for everyone who trains completely focused and uses his training time well. That's like normal day job/school/whatever.
There's still enough time for gf and everything.
and from psychological standpoint I don't believe it's better to live with 20 guys and being frustrated that you can't even wank in peace than having a girlfriend as distraction.
