Espacially on the whole day9 thing, with cloud, where he claims to be in money trouble, but actually earns alot more then people would think. I hope you guys talk and touch on the subject again, with does the casters have too much power to change peoples mind about players. Espacially a guy like day9 could really make people think better or worse about a player, because he got so many followers. And espacially, because he almost got a cult status in the community. I really liked this episodes, shame with the bad trolls, they werent even funny.

Just so we are clear I also encourage people to support players but wouldn't like it if you actively tried to ruin their lives. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by pleading for people not to contact sponsors every chance you get. If this is really just a handful of malicious trolls, they're not going to listen to you, and if it's actually a legitimate group of fans that are offended by these incidents to such an extent then brushing them off as attention seeking trolls is certainly not going to address their concerns. You should be acknowledging people's right to voice whatever opinion they have and maybe actually try to address the issue that the internet gaming community has a distinct culture where the competitive atmosphere heightens emotions in a similar manner to sports, yet unlike real sports there's no physical consequences for any trash talking that occurs. This leads to incidents like what happened to our mild mannered friend Orb who would never hurt a fly. At least in physical sports there's a built in correction mechanism where if you talk all kinds of shit there are real consequences for you. In an online world, there's no equivalent - until you start trying to make a career out of it. I think this is the real underlying issue that, if esports is in such a delicate position as to be vulnerable to a few trolls contacting sponsors, should probably be addressed sooner rather than later.

How long has it been now with literally no improvement? 6 months?

I hate how Tastosis and many other casters exaggerate the praise such as “this guy is actually so good” after every other series. Then you have the other extreme of someone like Wolf who casts in an extremely “questioning” tone and focuses too much on the “doubt” aspect of casting. Like qxc says, you don’t have time to analyse on the fly because you need to keep moving on as the game is progressing. Bitterdam are a bit too honest and they’re an example of people who aren’t afraid to call out the game balance and that’s actually not appropriate for doing a commercial broadcast. I enjoy very few games because I can’t stand that SC2 is so bad, yet it’s probably the best current RTS e-sport. People wouldn’t enjoy my commentary, that’s for sure :D. It’s especially problematic to see when to praise the winner and when to be honest and point out that the other player lost the game – you don’t want to defame every player who loses but if both players played bad, just one played even worse then I hate hearing exaggerated praise.
