There was nowhere near as strong tournament scene in 98 though. If blizzard fuck up the balance it will affect alot of tournaments and players whos career survives on blizzard making a balanced game, but it is annoying how little we hear about it
Also, note that the nature of the current game means that a LOT more time has to go into development of art assets. A 3D game is a lot more work than a 2D game, all other things being equal.

This is true, but ... most things in SC1/Broodwar were actually 3D assets rendered at the proper angles and assembled into sprites.

Excited for the community KoT tonight! I wonder if they'll get random people in for some games !
|
Hope there is an inside the game tonight, as i am starved for wheat (!?) and alcohol. I have been trying to get alcohol for kings of tin, but i forgot that it was yesterday, so i forgot to buy alchol (the alcohol buying places in some places in Norway closes at 5 pm ). Thats fine i thought, i just buy some tomorrow and watch the vod and then watch inside the game... Went to bed right after kot started at 1am.
Then i woke up, and said to myself: Man am i gonna get wasted tonight. Then no! It's may first. The sacred day of the workers. The people that must stand the oppression and abuse of the wealthier have one day, and thats fine.
But the stores are CLOSED. No alcohol for me.
So i made another reasoning to myself, which i coincidentaly often do to get out of schoolwork. I said: Well inside the game is a talking show, and i can pay more attention to the wise and funny utterings of the people there when sober.
I am running out of selv explaining. I will buy alcohol tomorrow and watch kot then. Do i have an alcohol problem? Of course i could watch everything sober, but it kind of sucks to do it when you were planning to get wasted. Kind of like going to a festival where you are planning to drink for five days straight, but then finds out its a christian one who doesnt allow alcohol. Could still be awesome, but changing plans sometimes suck
So: IS there an inside the game tonight? Love both shows by the way, never stop Wheat :D
EDIT: All three shows of course!

100% disagree with Incontrol's view on casting.
Not to mention in European football the commentators will shit on bad play all the time. Whenever I watch Sc2 games I always feel like the casters spend half the time outright lying to me and it's pretty annoying.

WoW. Didnt know that WHEAT understands korean......

Why does Incontrol look/sound like he's using a toaster as a webcam?
|
About people thinking Orb might be fake: I think it might be partly an US - Europe thing. I used to think Incontrol was faking sincerity for a while when I first saw him as a caster/player.

well i agree 100% on it, mostly because
1. they spend 30 seconds to a minute harping on a "blunder" that is inconsequential and deserves a 4 second mention and nothing else 2. most of the time, the "blunder" being a "blunder" is a matter of opinion, and it seems like the casters are usually actually WRONG that it is a "blunder"

Football casters don't repeatedly talk about previous mistakes. You don't hear them saying "Messi missed that penaly 20 minutes ago and now they are losing, what a terrible mistake that was, i can't believe it" again and again. Which is what we hear from a lot of casters "cough" Tasteless "cough".
It's the same as calling GG early. If it's 4-0 in a football game, casters will say things like " i don't see them coming back" or "they will need a miracle". But they won't say that every two minutes.
On an other topic, i don't know what the guys ate today but man, they bring an all other meaning to "no fluff". Holy shit, except for naming the caster who hate the games, they criticized pretty much every personnality in the game.

You're listening to different football commentators than me...
