You would think NASL would have an easier time getting western based sponsors especially with their time zones in sync, so they'd be able to make more money off of commercials than Gom could.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE they're a business, and this is a good way to gauge what demands are and what kind of adjustment they need to make on their side, both in a technical sense and business sense, to improve overall production value for us.

Apparently they are following both models at once. Subscription? Check Commercials? Check

But don't be surprised when they have to cancel the league because of not enough support, and you're left without all of the content they produce. I swear, this year could be THE year for e-sports, and the community is going to ruin it. I hate every single person that comes in here and whines about every single thing imaginable in a league that people worked their asses off to get up and running. Support NASL. Support E-Sports. Support SC2. What content have they produced SO FAR that I will be sorry about? Oh that's right NONE. I want them to succeed and hope they do but, they haven't shown ANYTHING yet. E-Sports will continue on with or without the NASL just like all the other organizations that disappeared. I'm tired of this can't criticize attitude for the "benefit" of E-SPORTS. The NASL will be gone if it can't make a profit at the end of Season 3, you think they'll be going into massive debt for E-SPORTS! I think not.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why they are doing it, it just seems hypocritical. Re-watch it please and inform yourself before acting like a retard and stating suppositions as facts. The fee wasn't for a stream but for an open tournament. I'll pay, of course, VOD access is a no-brainer.

I am pretty sure western SC2 won't do or die by how the NASL is received, there are A LOT of other SC2 tourneys and leagues coming up in the non-Korean scene. In my opinion, the 'Minimal commercial interruptions' simply means the 5ish mins commercial breaks here and there between break... I doubt that they'll have people pay 25$ for the season, and then force you to watch a 1min commercial before the game, a 30secs commercial every 15mins, and then a final commercial... Anyway, most people quoting the 'commercial interruptions' as a reason for not buying it would probably NOT buy it anyway, because if they were even slightly interested in buying the season pass, they would've questioned themselves(and the admins) what kind of interruptions it means, before to be like: "OMFG no way in f.ing heck am I paying 25$ to have more ads than awesome sc2 content! OMFGWTHBBQ NASL SUCKS" You know what? You pay for cable(or satellite dish) but you still get commercial interruption while watching... OMG am I an idiot? It seemed to me like their business model is the same as broadcasted TV!!! It will OBVIOUSLY fail, because of the "Minimal commercial interruptions"... Edit: Oh I forgot, broadcasted TV doesn't allow you to go back and watch any VOD at anytime, for no additional charges...

25$ or 20$ for 3 months is not a big deal, in fact it sounds awesome! I'll just have 2 less drinks tomorrow night when I go out, and there's my stream money. Lollll. I pay for these things because SC2 and esports is something I enjoy a lot, and if all I have to do is skip buying a thing or two here and there to afford it, well. . . so be it! At this point it's the only way I can think of to support the growth and betterment of esports, especially here in the west.

You can't compare this to the GSL because you'll be getting so much more content. How about... You can't compare it to the GSL because it is not really broadcast live in professional studio with a live audience. You can't compare it to the GSL because GSL has the top tier casters and content production. You can't compare it to the GSL because the GSL actually has the best players in the world instead of some pretty good players mixed in with a bunch of others guys that have colorful personalities. I will be buying a pass. I will not be buying into the comparisons.
