I also know that Youtube and player channels are free to watch, but they have really long, obnoxious ads.

The one thing I'd say is to definitely provide a PayPal option. Given some of their minor mishaps (not having timezone for countdown timer, commenting unreleased names in their source code, non-impressive website), I don't have full confidence that they know enough to protect submitted credit card numbers.

They are pre recorded so I imagine they are doing some /commercial between games. What you get is higher bitrate but the same commercials during live games and then the vods will have commercials as well.. The "minimal" thing doesn't mean you get less commercials than a non subscriber or anything like that since they can't see vods at all. Basically just trying to spin that vods will have commercials. I don't really care, it's probably a commercial like before any of the vods on blip etc, not a big deal What concerns me more is "(including weekly shows, analysis, highlights, and matches)" Is that planned at all? It seems like very little is planned right now but this is promising additional content which we haven't heard about at all until now. Is it real or is it like Gosuguide style weekly content. it sounds like a bargain if it's true, but if it's just talk, you start getting into refund territory when it turns out to be fluff. We honestly know so little about NASL even though the start date is very soon. I would suggest they keep this presale available throughout the first week, because there's just so many questions left unanswered about the quality of the tournament and what people are actually paying for after things like Clash of the Titans.

I am pretty sure western SC2 won't do or die by how the NASL is received, there are A LOT of other SC2 tourneys and leagues coming up in the non-Korean scene. However, if people do support such a large and ambitious league, more potential sponsors will see it and it will further help support e-sports. So why not support the NASL? It's $20, heck going out to eat a decent dinner's more expensive than that. And please take the whining/complaining/trolling to another thread, and lets discuss how awesome this league is gonna be ![]()

- There is a free LQ stream - You are paying for 1080 streaming and HQ VODs - This price is for 3 months of content I.E. Lower than a GSL HQ pass ( as it should be I doubt it will be the same caliber from the start, maybe after a couple successful seasons. We can hope none the less.) - If the title of this thread included any other Streams name instead of NASL the amount of ignorant hate would be cut in half. I am not saying anything that has not already been said in this thread, I just felt I needed to add another voice to the people who will be buying and not blindly hating on something because of ignorance.

But don't be surprised when they have to cancel the league because of not enough support, and you're left without all of the content they produce. I swear, this year could be THE year for e-sports, and the community is going to ruin it. I hate every single person that comes in here and whines about every single thing imaginable in a league that people worked their asses off to get up and running. Support NASL. Support E-Sports. Support SC2. I'll support it by watching the free streams. They aren't doing this "For the love of the game". They're doing it to get rich. You can't force something into reality by throwing money at it, if e-Sports is meant to happen in the West (I personally feel it is), filling Russ' pockets with your money isn't going to make it come any faster. All this is doing is setting a precedent for more leagues to start and keep charging money. How many leagues can you afford to watch?

I'd say most people will be waiting to see how Season 1 goes for NASL before they start spending money on it.

I want them to succeed and hope they do but, they haven't shown ANYTHING yet. E-Sports will continue on with or without the NASL just like all the other organizations that disappeared. I'm tired of this can't criticize attitude for the "benefit" of E-SPORTS. The NASL will be gone if it can't make a profit at the end of Season 3, you think they'll be going into massive debt for E-SPORTS! I think not. They showed you a preview with the IdrA vs. Jinro showmatch, and they have stated on multiple fronts that the preview was going to pale in comparison to the production level of the real thing. Then, they held a Q&A on this very forum to answer almost every single question imaginable about how it's run and the format. Then they released public player application VODs and the player list to get you hyped up for the players you'd be watching in the league. If you think you can't make an informed decision about whether or not the content they produce is worth watching from all of that, then you are just being ignorant. They are not being unreasonable, they want this thing to succeed and are doing EVERYTHING THEY CAN to get it to do so. If it fails, it's going to be because the community doesn't support it, and that's exactly what I'm saying. If you want E-Sports to succeed, then you have to suport it somehow. It's just like Sundance said of SotG, they have lost money every year they've run MLG. 25$ for 3 months of all HD streaming and VODs is pittance compared to the awesome amount of games we'll undoubtedly be able to watch. The player list of the NASL is STACKED. I can't wait, personally. If you don't want huge leagues with massive prize pools that exist in NA, then sure, you can go right on and not support it. But if the idea of watching SC2 like other people watch baseball or football is appealing to you, then you're going to have to realize the truth. Things like this cannot survive without support from the community, and that's all of us.

this is no way to run esports in contrast, sc1 esports had its roots in bona fide amateur context, only playing for the passion of th egame
