Well also GSL is done live with the players in booths so it has a pretty neat feeling to see the players and such.

It makes a huge difference. Watching the player reactions, their ceremonies, interviews right after the match. So yeah, it kinda matters... A LOT.
I get why it isn't logistically feasible for NASL. It's also no accident they are flying in the top 16 guys for the final...they get the importance of having a true live event too.
|
I am not buying one... until they have paypal support like every other business on the planet.
No, I don't hate the league but I think they are terribly understaffed and that in turn is leading them to "look over" some important "minor details."
|
Regardless of what the production quality ends of being, $20 is an excellent price for months of games between all of these big-name players. I am definitely in.
|
Lol, I hope this is "April Fool's". There's no way I'll be paying to watch the NASL, especially with commercials.
|
People are acting like $20 is a lot. For my girlfriend and I to see a movie costs at least $25+. That is without buying snacks... Then add in another $50+ for dinner for two after the movie. The amount of content we will get for the $20 will be way way worth it.
Then for the people complaining about minimal commercials. I pay about $160 a month for Verizon Fios TV + Internet. And still every tv program still has 20 minutes worth of commercials...
NASL is a business, just as GOM is. Their main goal is to make money. Which if they are able to show a profit, then they will attract sponsors / investors. Nothing in the world is free, expecting quality content should be no different. I don't understand how people could try and justify that NASL should just be free.
Also the 20% off is an awesome deal, you guys will be receiving my money shortly.
|
I'll get it because in the end I liked most invites, my fav Koreans and others . And is like to support esports. But just season 1 at first then I decide between leagues and stick with 1. (Which atm is gsl for me)
|
LOL why would I shell out cash for a product I have no idea about? All the NASL is, so far, is a few posts on teamliquid and a website straight out of the 90s. Professionalism nowhere to be seen. If they keep this up, they'll burn through their money is no time and crash hard.
|
Bad move making it all one big payment. If they would have made it $6 or $7 a month, a whole lot more people would have voted yes that they will buy it.
|
20$ is the very least everyone should do to support them
we waited 10 years for an english osl
now you dont want to give 20 bucks ?
jesus are you guys like 14 ?

huh? That doesnt ven make sense. You can still see the player reactions, their ceremonies, and interviews right after the match. Just because it was pre-recorded doesnt mean they go in and edit everything out. there is literally no difference. If I lied to you, and had you believe it was live even though it was not, you most certainly wouldnt be able to tell the difference....

Where does it say they will have video of the players while playing??

That's only for the Final 16. Not for the 50 player group stage.

Movies cost millions of dollars to make, sometimes hundreds of millions. By the logic displayed in this thread movie tickets should at least be $10,000
|
I've voted I will pay, but I will of course wait until the final details are given before I actually buy. I'd rather end up paying 25 later for something I'm 100% sure I want, than 20 now only to find out there is some hidden snag.
That being said, very excited for NASL!! It'll be the first SC2 eSports event I pay for, assuming all goes to plan.

You sir are misinformed. They are casting from replays. So that means they are recording their voice atop a vido capture of a game replay. There is no physical player presence, nor is their any type of coverage related to the things I originally listed. Unless they have a production studio in the basement of every nerd in the league, they will not be getting any of this. Maybe they can still do player interviews over Skype, but that is hardly what I was talking about.

don't know if i missed the info, but at what time will the games be streamed?

I might still buy it, provided there's a lot of content. Unless IdrA gets elimd in the first round ;] There was a quote from iNcontrol about how they internally talked about trying to charge for replay downloads, but since they couldn't keep people from stealing it once one person paid they felt that there was no point. Never mind that replays is something we want -- If they can't make a buck off it then why bother, right? Not that I think it is their responsibility anyway. This is just another example of how they talk themselves into looking less than awesome when they didn't have to. Yeah... I mean really they should provide the replays. They'd be the first major tournament to do so and it'd be AWESOME to be able to watch the replays of epic games that we, as viewers, love and want to learn from. Just because they're shareable isn't reason to fuck over paying customers =/

The potential market for a movie with a budget of more than one hundred million is far greater than the NASL.

I think most people here aren't totally "cheap". I didn't support gomtv untill season 2+ because i wasn't sure of the quality. There are people like me that was not please with the showmatch quality of "Clash of titan with Jinro+Idra". Check the vods if you don't remember but it was laggy+ out of sync delay commentating. That is why i want to wait to see the production qualities before i support them.
