I'm pretty sure if anyother league announced that line-up...well. I dunno. This certainly is a line-up as good as Code A atm. It certainly has the potential to be infinitely more entertaining than nearly everyother league at there. Aside from everything else, I can't believe some peoiple still criticizes the player pool of all things.

Im not going to pay this time, maybe next time. But for all those complaining about commercials, what are you going to do between games or series? There's only so much the commentators can do, and in order to keep the prize pool so high, someone is going to have to pay something, so why not bring in a few advertisements here and there?
|
Is there going to be a free stream too?
|
Almost every person in this thread has spent $20 to goto the movies with a friend, and eat some snacks. Thats 1 movie with a 1hr 30min time duration, yet it's unreasonable to invest into a 3month event, with hundreds of games to watch in high quality?
5 years ago Broodwar was struggling to become an e-sport outside of korea, and thousands of people would of done everything they could to help that grow. Now that its actually on the door step, and theres a chance to show your loyalty to the Starcraft world, why decline? I dont understand the unwillingness to invest a small fee into the growth of starcraft in North America.
I bought my pass, and cant wait for the games. Theres definitely gonna be some big matches coming up, and tons of excitment!

I am not paying, but i also dont pay for gsl.
Poll could be more diverse in trying to seperate the "i never pay" guys and the " i pay for gsl but not this" guys.
|
1. I'm not against paying and the price isn't terrible. 2. If I pay I want zero commercials. let the free stream have commercials. 3. I'm not going to buy until I see what people say about season 1. This all feels very slapdash so far.

There was a quote from iNcontrol about how they internally talked about trying to charge for replay downloads, but since they couldn't keep people from stealing it once one person paid they felt that there was no point. Never mind that replays is something we want -- If they can't make a buck off it then why bother, right?
Not that I think it is their responsibility anyway. This is just another example of how they talk themselves into looking less than awesome when they didn't have to.

I would recommend to most people to wait at least 1 day after the season starts. Better to spend $5 more once you think you will enjoy the content than regret spending $20 for something you won't watch. True this. GSL has been SO worth the money for me lately; first few seasons I didn't buy it but after I got into it I did and there have been no regrets.

Would you mind telling me how this makes a difference to you?

i will probably buy ticket after seeing first 1-2 weeks. won't decide until i see how it will actually look.
|
I voted no, as there is a problem with the timezone. It's pretty likely I won't watch any NASL stream at all and I don't watch VODs of SC2 matches. I watch them live or I read about the outcome the day after. So there is no point for me to pay.
I think no one can judge yet if 20$ will be a good deal. Depends on the quality, the number of games etc. "3 month" tells you pretty much nothing about that.
If they do a good job with their 1st season, I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more HD viewers in season 2.

All the people complaining must be really cheap o.O
MLG hd is $10 for like 3 days heh.

Need to see how good production value is first. I was not impressed with that showmatch they had awhie back

The games aren't live, they specifically stated they wanted to record everything beforehand so there will be as little wasted time in between games/series as possible(waiting for players/disconnects/battlenet issues). So commentator's won't have down time to fill.

More expensive than what? GSL charges $10 for 3 weeks worth of content. MLG charges $10 for 3 days worth of content. NASL is charging $25 for 3 MONTHS of content. It is cheapest ticket in town!
Now, I can't say that I disagree about paying and still having to watch commercials, but I will be picking up a pass none-the-less and will just offer NASL some feedback regarding the commercials once I see how the interruption plays out in reality.

seems very reasonnable pricing to me for 3 whole months..
|
Probably not, TBH. I already pay to watch one league and I barely have time to watch every GSL game as it is. If there's an NASL match I want to see, I'll catch it live if I can.

It's cause he can look up at the stars and KNOW that at this exact moment, he shares a mythical experience with some nerds all the way across the globe... it's so intense!
+ Show Spoiler +lol, it's seriously retarded... the games WILL be casted live and that's what matters

When I watch the groups there is a good player I can cheer for every group so I just might and buy this. The price isn't anything too bad. Would be cool to know how is the production before buying though
