This sounds really fun! I'll be sure to let my friends know.

This is great.
I just picked up all the cheap cheap Protoss players you left lying around for 50-100 minerals.
|
because chrono guarantees that P will be ahead even if you double ebay, I think you need to 4 rax + ghost timing attack this build on maps that allow it.
otherwise i guess take a fast third?

otherwise i guess take a fast third? This is probably in the wrong thread, amigo.

We can select as many players as we want as long as its under 1500 minerals? Lol.
Plus, the person who made the ranking system just doesn't know about some very good players, good deal for me.
|
hmm some of those player values are a bit off
|
MC July Squirtle KiWiKaKi Naniwa Socke Strelok
this is my team, i know i know lots of protoss :D but kiwi and squirtle and socke seemed like a steal
|
Definitely some good value to be had there... only 100 for Naniwa & Socke, 50 for Axslav & Strelock.
|
Feels like every single Protoss player's price is way off what it should be ._.

Smart strategy, only protoss's, the way things have been playing out lately.

Grabbed them both. Putting an iNcontroL over Naniwa/Socke, or Machine over Hasu, Mana, Strelok (50? LOL), axslav, darkforce, dde. Yeah this is pretty obscene.

You guys realize you lose points for losses so stacking your team with 50s isn't the best idea...
The point system isn't that big of a deal and its decent

I've got: + Show Spoiler +Sen Tyler Squirtle QXC Cruncher Naniwa Socke ClouD HasuObs Mana Strelok Open Tournament Winner DDe but I'll probably keep switching it up until it gets locked.

The point system isn't that big of a deal and its decent A player that goes 5-5 gets 10 points. A player that goes 10-0 gets 30 points + a maximum of 20 points from the final 16, so someone who crushes the entire tournament gets 50. Most favorites are probably ranked 250+. If you pick the good deals up at 50, you'll beat whoever picks the winner.
Rereading the rules part on the website, it seems that maybe each win in a bo3 counts as 3 points meaning max 6 points per matchup? Although my point still stands.

I don't even know what your point is

If there was an anti team, idra would be my first pick

pretty good concept, i made a group and im sure it will be a blast BUT the cost of some players a really questionable
i think its pretty much impossible for MC to be worth 500 points, lets paint a scenario for group stages
MC OR Axslav, DDE, Strelok, Mana, HasuObs, KawaiiRice = 300 Naniwa, Socke = 200
or pick up 4 more players for 50 min
Either way MC is only going to play 10 sets or 30 games max (bo3?) but best case scenario 20 games if he wins EVERY match up 2-0 = 20*3 = 60 points
now lets assume we take the 6x 50 min and 2x 100 min players = 8 people * 30 = 240 games max These 8 players need to win only 20 games between them to TIE MC.
20 wins/8 players = 2.5 wins per player to TIE MC. and with 20-30 games per player they have to have a win rate of about 10% 2.5/25 (avg).
Now theirs pretty much no chance MC is going on a 30 game win streak and the "lesser" players for 50/100 min are going to have a win rate of 10%. The only situation i could see MC being worth it is if he CRUSHES the group stage and the RO 16 along with there being some kind of bonus for winning the championship.
EDIT: forgot to factor in losses for the cheaper players, and im to lazy to do the math atm,ill be back

My team, tried to get a mix of expensive heavy hitters, and grabbing a few of the cheaper ones. Plus some fan favorites.

A player that goes 10-0 gets 30 points + a maximum of 20 points from the final 16, so someone who crushes the entire tournament gets 50.
Every MAP win is worth 3 points in the round robin. 9 BO3 with no loses means 18 wins x 3 points = 54 point maximum for the round robin.
In the final 16 every map win is worth 5 points. First 2 rounds are BO3, Semi final is BO5, Final is BO7 totaling 11 possible wins x 5 points per win = 55 points.
Additionally everyone that makes it directly out of their group into the Final 16 gets a bonus 12 points. The bracket played out by the players ranked 11 - 30 after the round robin are BO3s scored at 3 points per map win.
So if a player goes undefeated they will get 121 points
